Good on you Nowcontrol.

Wouldn't I lose it when you use it? Even if you return it to share after?

Not sure how this all works.

well it seems, if you are in the midst of using it as i take it off share, then the game just allows you to continue with it until you are done by switching to another car.

Hello, all! I am pretty new to GT5, but I've been wanting to do it for a long time and finally got it squared away. I was quite curious about the time trial 30s times, and I figured they were hacking. Admittedly, it was a bit discouraging to find they weren't being removed.

I'll be taking a look through this later and see what I can tune up and pump out in terms of times. You're all posting some rather impressive ones.

Welcome to :gtpflag:! You'll get lots of help here... 👍

Yep, that's how it works.

Yep, that's how it works.

When I borrow a car on loan I usually keep it until I'm finished using it, for whatever reason. This may be for a couple of days or a week.

I hope this is how it is done and that you are not expected to return it at the end of each session? Wow, have I been a hog in that case!

The owner can un-share it at any stage and use it again. As long as you don't change cars, it will remain in your garage as well. So, don't worry... ;)

Another small improvement. Now at 1'01.049. Still leaving a good amount of time out there, just need to string it together. Also figured out that keeping it in 6th gear for that last sweeping right-hander to the line is the ticket. I was downshifting to 5th to help the car rotate but that cause a little to much rotation and drifting around that corner which is not the fastest way around. Changed my suspension settings for more rotation without the drifting so I should be good to go now if I can just string a good lap together.

Hi Cargo,

I also noticed that the last corner is also quite sensitive on BB settings. I usually have it set more to the back, to improve corner turn in, but with this car that gives me issues on the last corner. I will try to stay in 6th as you suggested and see if that helps.

I'm running a brake balance of 2/3 if that helps. Like I said earlier, I run a very loose setup which works well for me on the rest of the track, its just that last curve that I had to compensate for. For that last curve, try running a bit away from the curb (about a wheels width or so) then come in tight for a late apex, at around or a little before the curbing ends. I still drift a little coming out of the corner, but its more of a four wheel controlled drift.

Thanks for the tips on that tricky so easy to over drive last sweeper. Hadn't thought to try six gear and I have been right on the curb and then running wide off or on the throttle. Seem to loose .100-.200 in this corner alone.

BB choice is interesting as I've been running 5 or 6 front and 3 or 4 rear BB.

Thanks again!

You're welcome. Running that corner in 6th gear does two things. It helps keep the oversteer to a minimum plus it keeps your momentum up without have to get on the gas so much like in 5th gear. I've gained as much as .200 in that corner alone using that technique.

Im losing alot of time at the first and the last corner, just cant handle the car...would be nice to have 1.01.0xx, but im sitting at 1.02.1xx(no wheel).

Hello!

I am very new here :) please help me with:

i can't find final drive... :)
the only way a could set those gear ratios was at 200 km/h top speed
i only get 253hp

what am i doing wrong?

i have stage 3 engine and no weight reduction

now i'm at 1:01.9 with settings done only by my ideas :), not good enough apparently :)

thank you 👍

I'm pretty sure his car is on share as he is on my friends list. Just send him a polite pm asking him if he would accept your friend request so that you may borrow his car. That way you don't have to worry about how to set it up. He doesn't bite, I promise.

Sorry I forgot to mention, that I didt use that trans settings

I had then finale drive at 5.000
Then set mph to 112
Then 1st threw 5th slide the bar all the way to the left then
Move 6th gear till it hits 126mph

Hello!

i can't find final drive... :)

reset to default, set top speed at minimum, set final gear to 5.2 or 3, move once top speed to right and move back to minimum, set other gears, set final gear ~4.100 (don`t remember now)

Another small improvement. Now at 1'00.990. Still missing about .300 that I'm leaving out there by the time I get back around to the finish line. Still perfecting the hairpin before the long straight. That seems to be where I'm losing quite a bit of time.

Great time cargo i having the same trouble leaving around 3-4 tenths on the exit of last hair pin which cost me all the way up the straight thou I'm flying round at 80 mph on last sweeping bend which generally saves my lap time

Thanks, and yea, that damn hairpin has always been a trouble spot for me. At least getting it right consistently. You have to get the car rotated just right so that when you get back on the gas, you have as straight a shot out of there as possible. I can do it perfectly, just not consistently. I'm taking that sweeper no lower than 83 mph. Like I said earlier, I just have to string this whole mess together and I might have something decent.

Wow, no lower than 83 mph, I'm lucky to not drop to 78-80 mph. Must be entering at too high a speed. That hairpin before the straight makes or breaks the lap for me. Really hard to get the rotation just right and you really have to get it pointed straight before getting into too much of the throttle.

That's the thing with that corner. A lot of people tend to over drive it and end up scrubbing off a bunch of speed. I start slowing down and hitting the brakes slightly while still in the straight, get the car rotated, then accelerate through the corner. I'm on full throttle a little past halfway of the turn with a slight 4 wheel drift to the outside of the track at the line. Its a thing of beauty if done right, but can get downright ugly if you miss the mark.

Thanks for the feedback. I also tried the low brake balance 2/3 and that helps with the other parts of the track like you said but then I just cant seam to get the last corner right.

It seams I'm hitting my max with a 1:01.092. I was running a car with dirty oil and had to lower the ballast to get to the 500 PP. I did an engine overhaul and a body fix with an other GSX I had. My B-spec is running in the engine as we speak. Lets see if that helps for a few tenth's.

Edit: played with the toe settings a bit. Put the front much higher to 0.30 and gained a tenth, and finally under 1:01 for a1:00.953. 159th with 30 plus hackers in front.

1:05.437 on a stock R34 V-Spec II Nür with Comfort Soft tires. I'm making it my goal to get gold with this one.

Also, funny how my first impression on seeing the leaderboards was "I didn't know you could tune those cars to be that fast."

EDIT: Yay! 1:04.872 achieved. That's all for today.

Improved to a 1'00.329. Lost over a tenth in the last turn, and a few hundredths in sector 1.

Gained .200 thanks to your advise and tackling that last corner differently. Now at a 1.01.102. Maybe another .200 if I'm lucky and string a good whole lap together.

Thanks again...

I'm just wondering. Would those hacker guys be proud on them selfs to be on top of the board that way?

I haven't improved yet but I wonder if anyone else finds that having 20 downforce may not be all it is cracked up to be.
I have found that using that PP, as low as 7 or 8 aero, on power or weight reduction can be beneficial.
Any thoughts?

I've played around with this idea and gaining a few mph on the straight and then losing time in that last sweeper didn't pay out in a better lap time for me. Downforce of 13 seemed to be an okay balance and in the end I am faster with downforce at 20. Lost time entering the first corner, gained time on exit, lost time in sector two and then would pull even to slightly ahead of my time on the straight to oversteer it away in the last corner. I did adjust my diff settings too to handle the power.

Did a 3 hour session today, got some improvement, previously 1.02.150, now sitting on 1.01.529 (no wheel) , with stick.
Used Praiano´s M3 500PP setup, luckily worked.

Currently #334. Im gonna stay with that result.
