I know that. In S2, there were 12 winners in 25 races. In S3, 7 winners in 30 races.

Just been reading throught the last few pages, heres my opinion in the ballast idea.

I get its BTCC rules, but I thought S4 was evoulution not revolution? Seems more like revolution to me.

Just keep it how it is, the series has been more evened up via the change in cars and no BMW's, plus reverse grids can be hard enough to get through as it is.

Agreed with Neljack that we don't want to upset things. Ballast belongs more with differing drivetrains.

Three people are against it, and even furinkazen is now agreeing.

It's stupid considering we have weak draft too, the people with ballast will be at such a disadvantage when at the back of the grid.

It's difficult enough to overtake as is, I can't see someone getting 2 wins in a row this season. Unless it's a track like Monza or High Speed Ring where ballast wouldn't stop that anyway.

Me, neljack, akmuq and Tom all agree that it doesn't mix with low draft and reverse grid, and even Furin said he agrees.

Knelly and Carbonox seem to be the only people who dont agree.

It doesn't make it any more arcadey, but it makes it more fair.

Ballast will be in TOCA in future, that I know. This season is not 100% realistic to begin with fuel use and tyre wear off. When I bring the RWD's back hopefully for S5, then we should be good. I understand Knelly's viewpoint and everyone else's here.

I found why BMW had an advantage last season by the way, it had an on-board turbo. That's why I considered the G35 for this season, as it was an NA RWD with no turbo, and I have got it very quick now, but for sake of competition I don't want any RWD vs FWD wars so it stayed out.

Also I look at "the other lot" ~cough D MAX cough~ and they have taken our old regs essentially... and RWD are dominating there.

As has been said this is supposed to be 'evolution' not a complete change in regs and rules. I can understand the concept of ballast, trying to make the series more even and having more different race winners, but it just seems like an afterthought tacked on to stir things up.

I disagree with ballast in any series, even in real life (Super GT for example). If you handicap a competitior for being too fast it's no longer a fair contest of driving skill.

Cars are equal this time around and your arch enemy, arcade draft, is more or less gone.

Anyway, I think the thing that made S3 a fiasco was that the cars were definitely not tested enough especially on full race distance. If the BMW had been ballasted pre-season and some parts removed from it to bring it down to FWD level, we would have had a close season with tyre wear.
