Is't that a little to much PP?
Mine BMW it's at 276HP and 480PP:odd:

Ho, and my time at tsukuba offline was 59.xxx just like the rest of you guys...

It is odd, isn't it.. stage 3 will make that difference, even with both at same HP, torque is different.

Times will still generally be the same, you can only push the tires & weight so far.

All stock mate and yes my downforce is maxed!! Is that a problem?
Maxed down-force, isn't a problem.. I figured it was one or the other.
Though would you agree, not all cars are even under these current restrictions?

And would you be for or against; optional parts & custom tunes within PP restrictions??

Well, yes.. the front & rear spoilers are adjustable
(increasing/decreasing your PP)
A variable we should be able to change according to track.

I know that!!!!

I mean, is there any upgrade on GT Auto?

I hope this isn't because I mentioned that my BMW has stage 3. I'm NOT using it. The reason why I'm not using is because I added a stage 3 engine tune to it a long time ago. Lol. And that can't be removed.

That 7:25 a the Ring is a little mind boggling. That's 20 seconds faster than a lap I did with no mistakes.

I'm not sure that anyone is cheating or not, I guess we'll find out. One way to fix this is to have everyone share their car right up to qualifying. This way anyone can get the car and check its status.

Mr. M this is what happens when things aren't equal, people start to feel like they are being 'cheated' because of the car they chose. If you looked at it on paper, no one would choose the BMW or the Lexus for obvious reasons. So then we're almost all driving the same car. PP makes it seem like we're driving the same car. Also you would have never had to get rid of the Altezza.

I know racing is kinda close but the some of these car dont have a chance at winning a race. My Lexus could keep me mid pack but there was no way I could challenge for anything.

You can have two cars and share the one within regulations....

If you want some fair comparison. check your best time at AMG Flight Academy the one with the 300 SL on the rain.
My best 9'23.xxx, (no aids but abs 1)i think Gold is 9'43.000, can someone confirm the gold time, I'm not at home right now...

No this isn't cause you brought up that car before... it's about making things even. You make a good point, the altezza could have stayed had we always been using PP to restrict.(Though I'm not sure if it follows the BTCC theme)

So, you would agree PP would be better to restrict??
(isn't it a bit much that the 1140kg is the exact weight of the BMW, and power output about the same... is it not unfair for Lexus' & Honda's to have to add weight & lose power??)

300HP?? that PP isn't a good representation under our current PP restrictions

I use a BMW and so far I have been unable to do a propper practice and setup.

People is doing really fast times, unfortunately I'm unable to join you at the practices for the time difference and right now I'm out of town for work.

But I'll be at home for the race, and ready to battle at the front of the midfield.

Your right, 300 too high.

Of course I'm in favor. I'm the one that started the PP talk.

In the DTM season 1 we ran at 502hp and stock weight. Too many cars were too heavy and the CLK is extremely light. This season the regs are 502hp, same weight ( can't remember what it is) and a 607PP which limits the CLK's down force. The CLK will still be the fastest car. Guess why?

The PP difference was and still is significant. CLK 623PP, Vauxhall Astra 601PP, Audi TT-R 600PP. Guess what? No one used any other car because how could you. The PP only goes down from there. When the PP isn't the same, one car is better than the other. Period.

sorry, didn't know you brought it up before, glad to know I'm not the only one that see's the benefits of restricting with PP.

So true, go figure why most of the field are in BMWs now

Yes i started in the Honda thought the extra hp and weight would help build a position to defend as the Honda was always gonna be caught in the latter stages with them tyres!! once the regs changed tested both cars BMW has the edge on a long stint if ya cant beat em join em:indiff:

For sure...
I happen to have a 320i as well, didn't enter with it cause I have a stage 3 engine (and I'm more of a Honda guy anyway)

My 320i detuned to 276HP & 1140kg;
With default aero - 488 PP
With max aero - 494 PP

I definately think a PP of 475-485 would be a perfect fit, as it would keep us close to stock trim output.

These current rules give almost no scope for tuning. Also, the testing has shown that the cars are still close. No offense, but I reckon that it is a little bit of fuss about nothing.

Though I would not rule outt PP restrictions later in the season if called for.

Lets just go with it and see, nothing is set in concrete then so all suck it and see:tup:

That's cool. It is all for fun, & I can't wait... Keep it clean, Keep it fun.

Either way 👍 it's just a game...
I agree, it is just a game... I'm in it for the fun too.
But when we're playing every Saturday, competitively, over the course of X amount of weekends...
You gotta want it to be fair, no?

Not trying to be the 'black sheep' just voicing what I think sounds fair

I love this guy. Your not the black sheep, your just pointing out the obvious. We all just wanna have fun. But it has to be fair.

These cars were never meant to run against each other straight out of the box. PP makes it so you can race a Ferrari against a mini and have a competitive race. Is it always perfect, of course not. But doing 2 lap races will never determine anything. We all look competitive because we all have fresh tires and we're driving the **** out of our cars right out of the gate.

By saying no tuning or adding parts is just making things extremely difficult. Why would all the other cars have to remove HP and add weight? If the BMW needs a little help, give it some help. Its heavier than the other cars, of course it needs help. Whats the big deal? If the Honda needs help, get it some help. These things should have been thought about way before the season started.

I'm in the Mazda so it's not really affecting me as my car is competitive enough. I just want every single car to be able to challenge for a win. And we do not have that right now

How about tomorrow at the launch we sort this out? I am willing to give a weight break maybe... also you know ballast can be moved with your car. Weight may be adjusted, it may be a little harsh. We'll decide tomorrow...
