Tbh I'm surprised that I won all 3 races yesterday, there were 5-6 drivers all within 3/4 tenths of me. And I think Dax feels he should be winning and that because he isn't, something must be massively wrong with his car :rolleyes:

I don't feel I should be winning, but considering I was winning and then my car drops off 2 seconds, I think there is something up with that.

You make it sound like I feel it's my right to win. That's not really the case.

Maybe the racing would improve if there were no more setups involved. 💡

Funny you should say that.

Eh?

I know. I'm terrible at tuning cars, which is precisely why I hate having tuning involved in a series, but geez, it's just me mentioning that Spurge is getting away too easily with the tuning advantage. :rolleyes:

How do setups make racing worse? :dopey:

And Dax, it just comes across that way, that's all. You do well at the first few races, then as you start to drop off the championship lead you make an excuse and quit :(

Racing would be better without setups because it would envolve more driver skill rather than tuning skill.

Huh.

Considering you can physically see the difference tyre wear has to my car, and you think I am making excuses?

When PURE-suitable drivers like you are way too much better with them than others... I've said this before and I'll say this again, but you really don't have a place in a series like TOCA. Your domination was part of the reason for me quitting for good back at S6.

Removing setups doesn't develop any skill IMO, I'm fairly certain everyone will still drive the same, in fact I usually feel inclined not to practice when I don't have to check a setup.

At one track yes, I didn't see a massive difference at the first two tracks, and you didn't seem to say too much about it until now.

And as I said before, PURE-like series are full of people who constantly practice and I just want to have fun and not waste most of my time playing GT5 just to be competitive. And as well as that, there are lots of good drivers in this series who aren't that far off my pace so I don't see why I win most of the races.

I did actually mention it more than once at Cape Ring.

I was in the lead for the last two races and ended up losing them to tyre wear.

I didn't say too much because I was hoping it was specific to that track.

That and Mazda is proven to be worst on tyres. All FF's have that disadvantage but Mazda is worst on it.

I personally like racing with a setup better than spec racing too. That would force us to 1) either use just 1 car or 2) force everyone to limit our cars to a certain pp which isn't always completely accurate. Trust me, spec racing is more spread out than racing where tuning is allowed. Contact is basically a requirement to pass people when racing spec unless the person in front of you makes a mistake or lets you through.

1. Setups penalise those who don't tune very often and a good setup can gain you at least a second a lap at each track. Therefore, driver skill isn't necessarily as important/

2. Excessive tyre wear is horrible, I've been on the receiving end of it before and losing 1 second a lap through no fault of your own is very frustrating.

Racing with tuning disabled is not spec racing.

TOCA a spec series? Not on my dead body.

Seriously though.

FF = more tyre wear
FR = less tyre wear
4WD = Inbetween

I might add its ONE Infiniti that is dominating. Not a whole flotilla of BMW's. And FWD's (Honda, Mini) have won this season.

The only two people who are (potentially) having fun watching you dominate are yourself and Furi... Seriously, you're just annoying people with your presence even if your intention indeed was having fun.

I have raced with PURE before, being 3 seconds down on Twissy over a 2-minute lap didn't discourage me much. Unfortunately they don't seem to be much fun in their threads.

:ouch:

@Carb: Well if setups are removed it would be a One-Make-Series and thats not TOCA.
The Mini for example. You have to tune some Oversteer into her to make her fast, without tuning she´ll get annihilated.

@Nel: NP I think what we did Yesterday was still fairly but rough, and I think that´s TOCA ;)

@Furi: Maybe the Lap-count was too high, atleast for the FWD´s 12 laps would have been better ;)

Yeah but everyone moans in toca over a tiny nudge so rough racing isnt good. It would be if people accepted a knock or two.

There is a difference in fairly rough and only rough.
And being fairly rough is in my opinion TOCA-spirit (atleast for those races I have watched TOCA, WTCC, STCC etc).

Furi, I'm dropping out as well. With this, ITCC, and my Elise series (Which doesn't allow tuning for those who are complaining ;)) all in a row, I need to drop one of them.

Ok, I just want to make a point here...

People keep asking me "when's tables" "check replay then" "why you not done this?" "this is wrong"...

1. Can you guys all actually realise that I have a life outside GTP? I run a hell of a lot, out every bit of effort and it genuinely flips me off when people either:

2. Whinge about series. I try every bloody effort to create tons of artwork, manage things, create a friendly environment. But moment we have ONE bad weekend I'm suddenly number one enemy and no-one wants to care anymore.

3. Standings, yes I am a bit slow, but see 1. They will be coming, I am hardly going to forget.

4. I will take this chance to tell all of you I won't be hosting on GTP from after this summer for all the above reasons. Hope you guys understand.

5. On top of this I decided to run test sessions, I try and keep to consistent timings. I can't be perfect all time, last night I was late and rushing because just for once I decided to do something different. Apologies to Neljack but I have to keep things moving.

And standings are done pending a couple extra late enquiries I need to pursue. But just let me get on with it please.

Furinkazen.
