Ok, I just want to make a point here...

People keep asking me "when's tables" "check replay then" "why you not done this?" "this is wrong"...

1. Can you guys all actually realise that I have a life outside GTP? I run a hell of a lot, out every bit of effort and it genuinely flips me off when people either:

2. Whinge about series. I try every bloody effort to create tons of artwork, manage things, create a friendly environment. But moment we have ONE bad weekend I'm suddenly number one enemy and no-one wants to care anymore.

3. Standings, yes I am a bit slow, but see 1. They will be coming, I am hardly going to forget.

4. I will take this chance to tell all of you I won't be hosting on GTP from after this summer for all the above reasons. Hope you guys understand.

5. On top of this I decided to run test sessions, I try and keep to consistent timings. I can't be perfect all time, last night I was late and rushing because just for once I decided to do something different. Apologies to Neljack but I have to keep things moving.

And standings are done pending a couple extra late enquiries I need to pursue. But just let me get on with it please.

Furinkazen.

You need a co-director.

No just need some people to understand a bit more...

Yep. I'm terrible with points, but thankfully people in my series are pretty understanding. Having someone else do your points may help.

I'll make clear. I have no issue doing it, I love doing it, it's a way of relaxing and de-stressing. But i'm sick of rarely getting positive vibes after a good weekend. Do we ever have 10 pages discussing the good points of race? No. Just bitching, whinging, and moaning.

Furi's number 1 motto from Day 1 started TOCA1.

"It's a game. Day it stop's being fun, I stop doing it".

I enjoyed last weekend and I understand that your life is busy at the moment. I don't think people think of the drivers on the other side of that TV, just of their PSN name. They aren't a real person in other people's minds, they are a virtual creation. I'm sorry you feel this way and everyone will miss you when your gone :(

So, I hear that people are complaining about touring cars?

Guys, if you can't deal with it, don't drive touring cars. Specs seem fair to me, as an outsider (never tested ToCA specs, but I notice that the Scirocco was nerfed, which is a sure sign that you did your research,) and bumping is racing.

Otherwise, last season of ITCC (towards the end) had less bumping than ToCA, yes. But, other than that, ToCA doesn't seem to have too much bumping.

The only problem most people will have is (clicking my signature) Dukes of Maser driving. If you get that mad at a Scirocco, it's time to phone me, and have a laugh. Yes, that was a particularly poor race in ITCC, between two drivers in particular.

But, one of those drivers immediately phoned me, and we had a good chuckle about it, instead of complaining. And, the issue was resolved with a warning.

MrM. With all due respect, you are aware that this isn't an advertising page for the ITCC?

So am I right in saying, that in ITCC, people who decide to throw their car through the air at another driver, get off with a warning? :dopey:

And I'm probably going to look through the replays today, and I'll let you guys know what I think are the main driving problems, if any. I personally didn't have any problems with anyone, so I'm surprised at the amount of people the went off in the races.

It was preseason. No points, no harm, no foul. Just a funny thing.

Tom, furi plugs on my threads, too.

But, I'm trying to offer some help. Naturally no one wants to see furi leave, except, probably, furi, strangely. That can be my excuse anyways.

Oh, fair enough then :P Looked at the replay for R1 guys, most people were fine, a couple of drivers I felt were driving very badly, and a couple more being a bit clumsy with their brake pedal :) Also, in R1, the difference in tyre wear between me and Dax was marginal and I was gaining 0.5/1 second per lap on him since lap 4. Just thought I'd bring it up because it was quite a lot different to R3.

The main problem with online racing is that people don't seem to realise that, when behind someone, you have to brake earlier than you're usual braking point because of the accordion effect. Not only that but generally to make a pass you have to follow someone until you can work out where you're faster.

If people realised this, there'd be no problem....

Ford, I agree with you, but it's not all just accordion effect.

It's also this thing called drafting, which is slightly exaggerated on GT5. Yes, you need to brake early, but it's also because any car behind any other car is immediately going faster, and therefore, all of the cars in the line are going faster, and increasingly have less grip.

For example, try driving a Caterham F1 car at Suzuka, closely following all of the 23 other cars ahead of you. Exaggerated, yes, but, your cornering speeds are highly affected by the aerodynamics of the car in front.

But the crash is caused by people not taking into account the accordion effect. Not by the drafting. The drafting just exaggerates the existing problem.

The whole point of the accordion effect is that you're travelling faster than the car infront at any given point upon corner entry.

Also, bare in mind that, especially at Autumn Ring, you aren't going fast enough for the draft to have a big affect on your braking. The problem here was at the tight corners where a few people weren't compensating for the driver infront of them. Another thing I noticed that doesn't exactly help clean passing, is drivers moving across to defend under braking. If you want to defend a corner, you move before you start braking, if you leave a massive gap before the braking zone, there's a good chance someone will have a go. So if you move across on them when they're already committed, it will almost always result in contact.

In the first corner of the first lap, mainly. Unless it's Trial Mountain. But, we won't go into that, I've already been told for plugging.

Drafting is not very effective in these cars. Trust me we would have not been going for seven seasons if we had no idea.

Also is this an ITCC thread? :)

TOCA is a strange beast. It seems to bring the worst out in people and turns them into aggressive, argumentative animals.

Take WSC, it’s like a driving series for gentlemen. No arguing no backstabbing, just good clean driving and good banter.

Compared to WSC, TOCA is like dealing with a bunch of hoodies packing knives

This may be my last season in TOCA

Simple Furi come next season 8 is it?:dopey: Go invite only its an avenue we are looking into hard tbh. You tell me you have 27 or so interested parties? Should be pretty easy to find enough guys to give you relatively stress free weeks:idea: May sound harsh but its better than things dying a death because some are tipping you/us slowly over the edge.:scared:

👍

Maybe for 1 or 2 new people you could have a trial basis where at any point their driving is deemed dirty then their "FRL licence" can be revoked. 💡

I already have a blacklist.

Anyway I was a little stressed yesterday, but as they say:

THE SHOW MUST GO ON :gtpflag:

Also i'll point out for TOCA8 changes are minimal, as new cars were already being tested for this season. Already know what I am doing for it, once I come back from my Italy trip that will hit top gear 👍

@ Mr M. Well, my point registered. I don't go plugging my series all time on yours.

Yea, we can't have anyone Cnd-ing around here :)

(Being dead serious too)

Also for next season, may as well break in some news and info:

Grand Valley East Reverse replaces Autumn Ring.

Top 12 qualifying format WILL remain.

2 cars AT LEAST to be axed, up to 3 new one's.

And a new reg that will open up competition a bit more.

That's all I can tell you ;)
