Oh these little red glittery buttons on the 7610 are difficult!
ive used about 9 different gradients on this one button alone!

Update: Must say these buttons are starting to look sweet!
700 x 1064:

Edit: not nearly at all don

It's worth it though 👍 :D How nearly finished are you?

Nowhere near it! anyway i was lookin at a few tasty pics i found on the net. Someone asked a vector artist on dA (forget who now) to vector them a VW golf, i just sorta started looking for VW pics all of a sudden :scared:,
ive found a great pic of a Mk1 or Mk2 golf and i think that'll be my next project, although its a tiny pic (800 x 600 i think :()

Beautiful 👍 The lights having given it the extra detail it needs. Hopefully as more and more detail goes in, it'll just get better and better :)

Got my latest project finally decided. Started working on something else, but lost interest halfway through. Got this one now - RE Amemiya RX7:

Looking good :) Keep trying with the chrome rims, they are hard you're right. I find a base of white with some blocks of dark grey here and there gives a chromey look, but it varies from piece to piece.

Suz: :P I know. I'm King of the Originals.

Update on the RX7:

Mmmmm, sex0r.

@zoxxy : Finish it up damnit! The body is looking already perfect. So shiny and all. I love the colour too :D

EDIT : Let me try this again...

Phew.

Not the best piece I've done, simply something to pass the time. Car is vectored in AI, background created using PS.

In a boreful stooper, looking through these pages, I say "hey, I think I could do that."

An hour later, it looks cool, but damn! I could've drawn two of those by hand quicker!

This was all done by "hand" in Photoshop with the paintbrush.

And, once again, I'm lusting for a Wacom...

Any major rules broken? Any pointers?

It looks great, you've really got the hang of it. The choice of areas for colouring looks pretty spot on.

No major rules broken, but the whole pic looks a little blurry (the wheels especially).

The edges of all the areas of colour are a bit jagged/rough. I've been trying to work out why, but can't come up with a good reason, the jaggies look too smooth for full on aliasing. How did you go about colouring the car?

I too lust for a Wacom, but the lusting shalth end soon as i'm getting one for my birthday from my folks.

Well im not know for my stong vector skills, but I read over your tutorial DB and I must say it was easy to follow and very interesting. Plus im more of an abstract type of person so doing clean and precise work isnt my thing either, but I love the work you guys do so I though seeing that I had a bit of spare time over the last few days that i would throw together some pics.

please let me know what you think.

It's quite blocky and abstract, but as you say that's what you were after so it's all good :D One thing i could say is that both pics look a little bit washed out (esp. the r32), they might benifit from more variation in lights and darks and definitely more colour!
