On the contrary, vectors generally look more photorealistic than cartoony. But it's down to personal choice.

Shant: Awesome man, looking forward to seeing the result đź‘Ť

Well, you're right but there's two types of vector (actually there's more):
visua style - LindStyling style (eh?)

Both good.

cartooning style & vector style. Vector is just dependant on what program you use, tooning can be done in photoshop, which is raster.. so vector is a type of program not a tooning style.

So which program is best when vectoring?

When I TRY to vector I usually use Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. My bro says Illustrator is better for tracing though. Seems kind of the same.

Yeah Illustrator or Flash are good fro actual vector images, but just for creating vector-style of cartoony images, i'd say Photoshop. But then Photoshop is the best program ever made... ;)

Made in the GIMP, as usual. Doing all the red bands on that cobra logo took forever. Click and let me know what you think. it's a WIP (duh?).

Thank you, donbenni. Here is the final version. I'm not happy at all with the rear wheel, but whatever. Winamp covers it on my desktop, so I'm too lazy to rework it.

Next up: a late model T-bird, which I'm doing for my buddy. I'm gonna try and two-tone it or or flame it :) Here is a little preview, not much yet but it's coming along.

Oh my god! That's great!!

Hmph. Your work in progress looks better than my finished product. :grumpy:

Nah, its all good, I do it for fun. Very nice Suzie. :) đź‘Ť Looks super-realistic. How do you turn these out so darn fast?

its a hobby & i don't use illustrator- i use flash MX (03. not 04- although i do some in 04 @ school)

sorry don :embarrassed:

Looks sweet, but maybe a little too jagged for my liking with the curves i.e. Merc bonnet shading. Try the pen tool for the smoothest of areas or just use the lasso but make lots more anchor points đź‘Ť Nice try.

Your very good suzq044, I like most of your tunings. They show that skills went into making them.

As for me, I started on a porsche I was working on a while back. This is all I have so far, i'm sure most of ya have seen the before picture. If not, i'll put a *click me* link to it under the image. :sly:

Everything is 100% me. I made the rims, and all of the above. This really needs more work, the paint job should be excellent.
What do ya think so far?

i have a lot of time on my hands- this is another 2 day project.. started thurs night & finished friday noon- i have no school fridays, so i'm bored off my a$$.

Sorry suzq, but to me it just looks like the pics were run through a Photoshop filter. :indiff: I know that it's just the style that you do, but I much perfer donbenni's style. I'm not saying that you aren't talented--you are, it's just that I prefer other styles. :)

i lined it & airbrushed ... based on the original obviously.. lol.. (didn't add the vent thingys on the back tho).. blurry.. cause i hated the jagged lines in photoshop :( so i did the blur tool thing..
