Raced on Dragon Trail Manufacturer race tonight. Qualified in 4th after letting all the other cars leave the garages. I though now I'm in for a good race.

Car in front of me played pinball trough the bus stop chicane. I had no where to go and got caught up in the crash. Tried to get back my positions but just got bounced around by the slower drivers. No penalties seemed to be awarded anywhere. Ended up last after 2 laps and rage quit.

And this was a DR B, SR S race - doesn't anyone drive cleanly any more :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I just did my first Sport Race since the update and someone shot through the first turn undercutting the inside, completely unable to make the turn and my car just barely knicked him (helping the jerk) and I got a 10 second penalty lmao... this game gets funnier and funnier! It’s not even worth complaining anymore

They released a bit of a broken emss.

The online lacks a clear balance, wtf did they test with the damn demo ?

I seriously hope they roll back on the grip. I don’t remember anyone asking for more grip or even suggesting the tires were too slippery. Very very strange bunch of ‘balance’ changes made today.
Tyres feel loads better, especially Sport tyres. It's also a slight physics change which effects everything, No harm in a little more grip but it's also given it a more planted connected feel it never really had before.

I hope they keep the changes :)

I think the number of exclamation marks after a post is inversely proportional to how interesting/insightful the OP will be.

Hey, OP, maybe we could start a new forum section for post race "rage" posts.

...If only the mods would bring back the Race Report subforum from GT6. It actually makes more sense in this game than it did before.

Oh the irony:lol:
On an internet discussion foram, the OP is supposed to bring the content, which fuels the discussion.

When there's no content, we get threads like this, where Johnnypenso gobbles up the low-effort chum of low-effort replies like mine.

It's an ecosystem, kind of beautiful if you think about it, Jopen.

All those having constant bad races need to look into themselves rather than blaming the game. If you are having this much trouble then you are also at fault.

Seriously better these people move away from GT as they intend to so that we can have good races.

Unable to use mirrors, getting hit at every corner, etc is just bad all-round driving on your part also. Having such race on 1-2 times out of 10 is fine but having them 7-8 timed then its your fault also.

Use Mirrors and think.

Raced in the daily yesterday at the Nurburgring and everyone was actually racing clean, had a great battle with a guy in another Porsche 911 RSR and kept giving each other plenty of room, one of the most enjoyable races I had on this game so far. Guess it's just the luck of the draw who you end up racing against!

Hi the latest update sent me to the store , to get my ( Scapes Addisional Content Pack ) then i say download .
It tells me it will take 14hrs . Is my P S 4 Pro having a laugh 14hrs .

I think the penalty “improvements” are significantly worse than they were before... the latest absurdity was in a race a few hours ago. I started in 4th and on the second lap, I was about 50 yards behind the guys in 2nd and 3rd and they starting a little fight with one another. The car on the right smashed into the left side of the other and rammed him into a wall on a straight causing the car to spin out. The spinning car came right in front of me... non avoidable. I got a 10 second penalty for the collision. 72 more races to complete for the platinum trophy and I will never play Sport Mode another day in my life! Can’t wait! I can literally feel the excitement building with each race I endure.

Yeah different strokes and all that. I think I only ever got one platinum. I have a colleague who has literally hundreds of them, don't know where he gets the time/patience.

I think the recent changes to the physics are a big step forward. The online racing has got problems though. I am hoping the upcoming career mode will attract the quick fix brigade away from the online racing and that pd make the daily race changes twice weekly or similar. This would improve the overall standard of racing more than anything in my opinion.

Well i also think the penalty system has become worst after the update. Still divebombing, and hitting from rear, and never one orange symbol. You can for sure hit others more without getting penalty. And this was A S . There are a lot of dirty drivers. And you also have the lag, if people have bad internet, please remove them from race. You cant anticipate on that.or at least allow to quit race without penaltys, when you didnt drive yet!

I think the game needs some kind of algorithm which detects within braking zones the amount of speed a car is hit from behind.
Its probably a lot of coding work but its the only way to ensure that the one who gets bumped into from behind, is just not at fault.
And depending on how hard the hit is (the system should be able to detect the difference in speed between the two cars) the divebomber should get a black flag and be removed from the race. or if thats to severe, there should be time penalties added to that driver at the end of the race. penalties that you can not clear off during the race by slowing down.

Also, you need to be in a certain range to another car in order to get your SR up. You need to be racing someone. Driving all alone with no one in sight, its not worthy of giving you SR up. SR should only be earned when driving, lets say, within 100m of another car.

Last night, for the 1st time since I got to A/S, I was the victim of 2 silly overtake attempts... both by the same driver, both in to the chicane at Nurb GP, and both had zero chance of success - on each occasion, he came from miles back, I gave room to try to avoid contact, but he had so much speed it was impossible to avoid getting hit.

The 1st time I thought it was maybe a mistake (missed brake point), but the 2nd attempt was a carbon copy.

On both occasions I was knocked well off track, and had to drive over the grass to rejoin. But I didn't get a penalty, so just carried on.

Interestingly, when he re-joined after the 1st impact he didn't drop back - so maybe didn't get a penalty, or he managed to get rid of it in the 2nd impact. The 2nd time he did drop back, and I finished >5s ahead. No penalties showing on the results page.

I finished 3rd, and got the clean race bonus.

I feel at times that people treat other racers like they would treat the AI in single player races.
I admit that when i play single player i also am not as careful. I tend to brake later and here and there i push some AI drivers at times.
But in multiplayer i try to be as careful as i can be and rather concede a position when i see that the other guy clearly is on a havoc mission. Also brake rather earlier than too late.

Have to agree with you here. Since I moved up to SR S, I've had all clean races. I can think of 1 or 2 bad ones, they were my fault. 1 was just me making too many mistakes. But, the other drivers have been nothing but clean and fair. Giving spots back if it wasn't clean. Apologizing for missing a brake point and hitting you. Nothing but good, clean, fast, fun!

With so many vision (illusion) cars, you must be lost in PD's dreams :)

A side with kidding, that warm-cold playing, first with serial, then within the same game, must result with more dislikes than usually.

I'm playing a lot less than before update too, but I think it is because my body became a little tired (of lapping).

It's infuriating, I know, but what any of this has to do with the update?

It's seems just the usual trolleys behaving like they usually do.
This guys just sit around on the back of the field on a bunch of Sport Races when they are paired with a stronger field, have some clean races and get the SR S level. Supposedly the way they calculate SR was changed with the update, but they didn't reset the levels. Maybe in the next couple weeks we'll see the effects on driver ratings.

About that, i posted this in another thread:

Yeah or with such an algorithm you could just negate the whole thing by ghosting dive bombers and then giving them a slow down. They'd soon stop doing it. But I'm sure PD are doing their best with it all. It can't be easy when whatever system you put in will have tens of thousands of complete morons with too much time on their hands trying to figure out how they can use it to cheat.

I had a good race on Dragons Tail yesterday, and it was SR S. But I don't see any of OP ranting has anything to do with the update, bad drivers will be bad drivers and the update didn't address any of that.

BTW when you quit mid race, the game will demote you straight to SR E, so enjoy the dirty smashers in E. Best to just stay in the race and drop a little on SR rather than get completely demoted to the bottom.
