Any idea what Andrew Jordan is doing next year? Isn't he in an Avensis?
The same as this year. Pritek Vauxhall with a possible 'team mate' in Jeff Smith, money permitting.
Firstly, the Vectra is an S2000 car and secondly, they're allowed one more year. I think we can expect to see the Integra once more too.
BTC regulations were ditched a while ago now, its been S2000 for the last few years.
It was, but it was also essentially the Opel Vectra DTM car and Lexus has expressed interest in DTM. It will be interesting to see what the Super GT/DTM partnership will produce. If you got America and Australia to join, it would be even more interesting.
But, Nissan is looking to enter the GT-R. So, the six cars would be:
1. Audi A4/R8 (If Audi can talk DTM into letting them enter the R8, they will)
2. Mercedes CL 65 AMG
3. BMW M3
4. Nissan GT-R
5. Lexus IS-F (if they enter a car, it'll probably be this...or the SC430)
6. Opel Vectra/Astra
Toyota are developing an 300bhp NGTC engine for the BTCC privateer Avensis.
Apparently it will be a lightweight engine, could be an advantage for this new season coming up, so look out for it.

2 or 3 BMW entries will be entered using the old super 2000 engines 2.0 normally aspirated, they are hopeful of taking positions due to there excellent reliability while the new engines may have new season niggles.
Actually the BMW teams are wanting to have more power because BMW germany said if they use the NGTC engines they wont help subsidize their costs as they are working on the 1.6T's for WTCC2 or 3 BMW entries will be entered using the old super 2000 engines 2.0 normally aspirated, they are hopeful of taking positions due to there excellent reliability while the new engines may have new season niggles.
-> Since this is the best thread I can post it at, what is this specific Seat Ibiza?

It was, it is no longer. I think there is a clear difference between sports cars/GT and touring cars, generally speaking, when you start sticking huge wings, big diffusers, splitters and all sorts of aerodynamic appendages on the cars, they are no longer "Touring Cars", they become "Grand Tourers".
Touring Cars do have a little bit of aero work on them, but for the most part they keep the same body shell they are meant to be based upon.
I'd also say that touring cars are meant to be cheap, relatively low horsepower and race on smaller, national circuits.
There are some gray areas like old DTM, V8 Supercars, etc. But I think its pretty clear now that calling the current DTMs or SuperGT "Touring Cars" is really a joke. They almost look nothing like the cars they are supposedly based on and they produce similar if not more downforce to GT3 cars (or even GT2 and GT1?). Compare this to the old Honda Integra thats still driven in the BTCC its laughable really to put them in the same category of racing.
