I've heard that Volvo(s60) and Alfa(Giulietta) are coming back in wtcc, is it true?
It would be more interesting if there will be more teams, I'd like to see Renault also :)

Not sure where you got those info but what we've already been known is that Volvo with the C30 is definitely confirmed to be coming back into WTCC next year... Surely it would be lovely but we'll see if those rumours are true...

well i've heard rumour about alfa on italian alfa forum... i really hope it's true :)

ps yes c30 not s60, sorry

Looks, like BMW have been DSQ'd from Okayama for the gear box switch.

Hands the title to Yvan Muller and Chevrolet.

It's a bit of a joke really... I'm not saying stewards decisions should be unquestionable.. but the stewards said it was okay, now the FIA says it was illegal, rendering the last race weekend of the season pointless (except for the indy title)... a different penalty would have been more sensible..

.. now another FIA world title has been decided in the court room!

:(

Absolutely ridiculous.. So I have just wasted my time watching the race of Japan?

Definitely the title is now Muller's...

Add that to the "let's ban Turkington from the independents championship" rule. The WTCC has been run pretty badly this year.

Yup official now.. BMW DSQ'd.. Yvan Muller champion along with Chevrolet..

I guess that's motorsport, some you win, some you loose.. and although (being a BMW man) I want them to take it in a sportsmanlike fashion... ... since the FIA WTCC stewards and the international court of appeal are willing to make the WTCC a joke, then a part of me hopes that BMW turn up and do something crazy.... to at least make the final round entertaining.

Crazy pointless to me, it seems like the FIA (knowing that BMW are pulling out of most/all of FIA sanctioned events) are now trying to back another horse... the only one left .. Chevrolet.

First the stewards say yes, you're allowed to... Then no, that's breaking the rule. I wonder how ridiculous this can be.

Priaulx can now only fight for 2nd and the "Let's ban Turkington from the independents championship" has made WTCC the worst motorsport ever to me this year... Hopefully BMW can turn around the circus in Macau and ditch those hyper Chevrolet.

To make things worse, the DSQ means that penalty ballast will be based on the previous races, so BMW come away from Japan with no points, but maximum ballast for the next race.

:(

With ~15 BMW 320si set to compete at Macau, a big part of me just wants them to barge their way through and take an astonishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ... 15th result,.. Freight-train the Chevvies!!... some how I don't think that will happen though :)

Unfortunately that wouldn't happen though. The BMWs will get slaughtered easily on the 2 really long straights by the Diesel and so-called the most powerful engine in the WTCC. I'm sorry for the BMW fans and the BMW and to myself, this year campaign is pretty much office closed.

Somehow anyway, I'm expecting something really weird to happen on Sunday. Owh whatever just bring it on!

Did the Volvo guys said they will be here in Macau?

The race was a real eventful one. Lots of crashes than real racing. That's Macau

I was quite pissed throughout the weekend though... Especially with the Priaulx chaos at the start of Race 1 and Farfus being hustled up like a ''Tofu'' in Race 2. The Chevys are fast, as expected. I guess they deserved the Championship? I don't know... Yvan deserved to take the drivers Championship? I don't know...

Next season with turbo cars, hoping the chance for BMW to bounce back. That BMW is still a great car to handle in the twisty-roller coaster circuit. With a turbo engine, I think next year is going to be a tough season for the Chevys and the Seats as everybody now is looking faster. We'll see....

Officially now the 2010 WTCC season is over.

It seems like it has been confirmed that the BMW Motorsport factory team will withdraw from the WTCC next year... Seems like this moves follows after Seat Factory Team also pulled out of WTCC at the end of 2009. No suprises really as the WTCC now is really becoming a big joke throughout the season especially this year.

Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus is now in talk to be racing with the BMW M3 GT2 with the help of Team Schnitzer. Any updates will soon follow.

Andy Priaulx has retired as well hasn't he?

No, don't think so

Andy looks forward to 2011 and beyond as a BMW driver

Andy Priaulx is looking forward to an exciting future as a BMW works driver as one chapter closes and another opens. In Munich yesterday it was announced he would no longer be driving in the FIA World Touring Car Championship but his future with the marque was secure with the first part of his programme announced.

After eight years racing for the BMW in the European and World Touring Car Championships the Guernsey driver is saying goodbye to the two series that gave him a total of four titles. “I am very excited about the future plans I have as a BMW works driver, some of which have yet to be revealed and some of which I can talk about now. However, I have to reflect on the fabulous time I have had driving the BMW 320 in various guises since 2003. It is a car that will always be close to my heart and I want to say a big thank you to everyone at BMW Motorsport, BMW UK and RBM in Belgium as without these guys I would never have had the amazing successes,” said the triple world champion.

Priaulx will again be driving the BMW M3 GT2 with outings in the three 24 hour classics in Le Mans, the Nurburgring and Spa-Francorchamps planned for this car subject to regulation decisions. The car is also destined to race in various VLN rounds. “I have yet to announce my full programme, but I know it will be very exciting,” he added.

Priaulx would never dream of retiring now, he's in top form at the moment, I'll be looking forward to seeing him (and Farfus) having more time in the GT2. I'm sure he's also very excited to having the chance to take on the DTM's best in 2012.

I wish Priaulx would make a return to BTCC, at least just for a guest drive if nothing else (and Turkington and Thompson of course!).

Exactly my thought mate!

Sounds more likely that he will be a guest driver but the seat for the 2012 DTM BMW must be open and BMW now surely has got, must put him under contract for the drive... He is a great Touring Car driver with 3 world titles, got a bright future with BMW and still too early to retire. Same goes to Augusto Farfus...

Don't forget Giovarnidi, Muller, and Rob Huff. BTCC is where he started and he is a title shot for next year.

If all these drivers came back, it would be close to the BTCC of the 1990s again..its crazy to watch them again and remember how top quality the grids were then. Most of them are still driving in top form too!
Not that todays BTCC lacks quality, but its quantity of quality that is lacking. I mean, Neal and Plato are relatively unchallenged through the year as everyone else is too inconsistent (Chilton, Collard, Shedden) or don't have the right car (O'Neill, Kane, Jackson) or are just not allowed to win (Onslow-Cole).

Paul O'Neill doesn't understand why he annoys Sureboss! :D

Not only do we get some Toyotas next year in BTCC, but now Audis too!

Rob Austin Racing will enter the British Touring Car Championship next year with a pair of Audi A4s.

The team has commissioned GPR Motorsport to build two A4s to the NGTC rules package that will come into force in 2011, and has released an artist's impression of what the machines will look like.

"This is a great step for us and a fantastic challenge," said Austin, whose team has previously been a frontrunner in the Ginetta G20 and G50 Cups and in the GT4 class of the British GT Championship.

"We are convinced that the NGTC concept is going to make the BTCC even more competitive and exciting that the Audi will be a race-winner."

Austin, a British Formula 3 race-winner, has not named any drivers for the programme. He expects to take delivery of the cars in March.

Audi machinery won the 1996 BTCC title with Frank Biela at the wheel of a works A4. The German marque last appeared in the championship in '98 with Yvan Muller and John Bintcliffe driving.

Now where are the Renaults, Alfa Romeos, Volvos, Nissans and Peugeots?

So that means we could end up with only four BMWs on the grid. Two cars from WSR and another two from Forster Motorsport... :(

So really only two that matter.

A golf, 2 audis and 3 seat's! Toyota, Ford, Honda, BMW and Vauxhall! Anyone could come in next. Really is open.

Aye, they are last seasons Team Aon. 3 of them have been bought more than likely all of them will be run but the driver situation is very much in the air!

I'm a big BTCC fan, but I really don't think that NGTC is good for the sport, and as far as BMW entries go, I'm disappointed that Airwaves have gone to Fords, I like both Jackson and Kane, and was hoping to be cheering them both on again next year, but alas... :(

It appears NGTC is already working though, we seem to already have quite a big grid before we've even got into 2011....clearly it seems more cost-effective if Ginetta teams are making the jump, Ginetta already run a fairly cheap and cheerful championship, so convincing these teams to make the move up and find sponsors appears to have improved.
Its certainly looking far better for the BTCC than WTCC and WRC....

I agree its a shame to lose more BMWs though, its unfortunate that ToCA never really sorted out the equalisation and had to penalise the gearboxes so much.

Jackson wouldn't have been using a BMW next season even if Motorbase had kept them anyway ;)
