Hi, been using the gear ratio acceleration codes from the codejunkies site, much more realistic acceleration times, was using x3 and gsxr 600rr was doing 0-60mph in around 2.8 secs, dont know what they do in real life, just over 3 I would expect, so maybe 2x setting will be more realistic. also was wondering if increasing it to 8x will make it easier to do burnouts, was doing some with it on x3.

2.9-3.1

Try leaning back some.

Everytime I have preordered a game from GAME I have recieved it on the Thursday before the official Friday release. Which in my book, is pretty cool.

Yeah that happens to me also and I love it. lol Playing games a day early makes me feel so proud. lol

drifterboy
so is tourist trophy like Gran Turismo 4 but with bikes

Sure is, the real riding simulator.

Speaking of banging your head on a wall, I'm doing it literally here at home. I'm going back for gold on the licenses and J-4 of all things has been killing me! My top ten times range from 16.558 to 16.565, and gold is 16.490. Obviously I'd hit a limit of some kind, couldn't figure it out. Watched the demo repeatedly, from the on-bike view, so I could see his line in 1st-person, and he did nothing I wasn't doing, he just did it faster. What gives!!??!?!?!

Then I started a demo and missed the 1st-person button, and the problem was obvious. . . . . . Ready?

I'D FORGOTTEN TO TUCK !!!!!!! :banghead:

Unbelievable. Ran it with a tuck, two tries later had a 16.438!

Hope this helps somebody else who's not thinking of everything. . . . .

Thanks alot! The method really works. Was having trouble with getting gold for N5 license test but with the tucking, I was able to get gold and hence getting the Polyphony Digital Classic GP helmet(one of my favourite).

Hmm, the only time you shouldn't be tucking is when you require the additional cornering clearance and sharper turning you can get without tucking...or if tucking means the hard parts are scraping and you're wiping out (like in one of the tests, I think Expert 5, where you have to ride a GSX-R 1000 through some high speed esses and around the hairpin and final 2 corners at Midfield. Tucking on the corner after the tunnel means the bike is too far over, the pegs will scrape and you'll throw it away.)

Golding the N licenses is the first thing I did, but I don't have that helmet. Apparently that implies an answer to my question in this thread about how gear is awarded. It appears to me that the gear is not linked to events like the prize bikes are, but awarded from a list, in order, i.e. these items first, then these, then these.

The reason you don't have that helmet is probably because of the different versions. I am having the NTSC/J Version.

Right, in my Chinese version this helmet is a prize for winning 4th race in 8h bikes championship if i remember correctly.......or elsewere is a prize for all gold in last licence
:sly:

Well, this is what I get for posting from work. :dunce: I get home and I'm looking around, and there it is, the PD classic. I have no idea when it appeared. Just forget I ever said anything. . . . . :guilty:

that was weird:

i just started my second lap of qualifing for the infineon tz250rm race. while in the onboard view one of the ai drove right through me. i didnt crash, but, poof, he just appear blocking out the view of my bike for a moment

weird.

I have hads this game for about a week and I must say that I'm imprresed with the job that they have done on the fisrt try.It is a little short on races but the fist GT was a little short also.I am looking forward to TT2 and hope that the bike count is higher.I love the no money idea and the no mods makes this game perfect for online racing.Time will tell if this becomes as big as GT but I feel that it has a chance. Now I must get the PS3 asap.

I don't know if it has been discussed, but will there be a WRS for TT?? It would be great if was arranged like the GT4 WRS here at GtPlanet...

There hasn't been discussion about it. There is 2 threads here where someone is starting a WRS for 600cc racebikes with 10 rounds. There is no other race series or class right now. Though I'm seriously considering starting one......

instead of making it a 10 round format, just have a different race every week with some basic rules. I would like to see it exactly as WRS just with bikes....

LOL!

Did exactly that last night, and I was forgetting how fast a race car stops compared to a bike. Going to take some time to adjust back to GT4 - I should get a DFP for GT4 then I won't get so confused!

Had a few laps on the 'Ring and it was nice to take many sections flat out that would have caused my rider to part company with his bike in spectacular fashion.

That is exactly the problem I was having with the Ring when I first got TT. I'd go flying through sections I knew I could take flat out, only to have the bike sail off the road at warp speed. It took a lot of adjusting to figure out the proper way to ride the Ring.

which motorcycle is great to start nicely? And how i can have quickly money for first races? and which motorcylce has top speed (400-450 km/h) ????

1. You start with a scooter.
2. There is no prize money, you enter challenges (races or time trials) to win the bike you want in the color you want.
2a. The 600 street bikes are nice and pretty easy to win, I won 1 in less than 30 seconds once. You can win whatever bike you want to use in the races, but most of the percentage completion will be for winning all 90+ challenges.
3. The Honda CBR1000RRW 7 Stars Suzuka 8h bike is capable of up to 251 mph in arcade mode which is 404 km/h, but there are few tracks with a long enough straight to be above 200 mph for long and even fewer where the road is flat enough that you can ride that fast without knowing you'll fall off if you touch the brakes.

I recently bought Tourist Trophy with some of the money from selling my books.

---CHALLENGE MODE---
Challenge Mode is unique. Rather than purchase bikes, you have to win them in action. It may be possible

My best lap of two around the newcoming Valencia was 1:46.624. I used a Honda CRB1000RR RacingModify. As this course gives Spain some PD love, this course has a very distinct feel to it. It has some very tricky depths to it. Turn 2 is the first real challenging corner on your way around this track. You begin to feel like a MotoGP star racing around this track since MotoGP (and even FIM Superbikes) race around this course. Turn 8 needs some care because you'll need to take on the hairpin after the left-right complex. After that tight corner, there are two more key areas. The first destroys your high speed thrill ride. Then a sweeping left leads to a trun that punishses you for going full speed into this sweeping section. I'd rate the bike challenge between moderate and hard. It's a fairly understandable and a fairly moderate course to navigate and master.

My new analysis of the game:

Out of a score of 1-10, I'm giving this game (8.75/10.00). It is a very fun game once you get the hang of it. Two cool bikes I recently got were the Ducati 999R (the prize bike in a sweepstakes), and this Honda C??????? Fireblade from 2002.

Well 9 days from UK release and I've just pre-ordered it. With any luck they'll pull a Toca Race Driver 3 and it'll arrive a day early.

I'm actually enticed to race a Ducati in Tourist Trophy.

Great bike, based on the little I saw of it in the license tests. It has very impressive torque in the bottom end and a heavenly exhaust note. You'll love it.

This is my first post in a long while after the treacherous online acts against me. I'm glad to be back first and foremost. Now let me comment in mixed segments. Asterisks (*) seperate certain points I've made.

* Between Sunday and Saturday last week, I've accomplished about 60.6% completion. Most of my percentage came from trying to clear the Challenge Mode. I must say. I admire Honda. The Ducatis are nice. However, I'm convinced... Suzuki makes some of the most awesome machines. I wanted to say that the GSX-R 1000 RM was the fastest and most powerful bike in the game. Well, that changed. Fastest bike in my collection: Suzuki GSX-R 1300 RM! This bad boy can do about 220 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife's ultra-long straight! My only complaint- it would be my dream bike if it were in blue and white, as opposed to black and gray. Coolest bike I wished could be better- Yamaha VMAX. That VMAX looks extremely killer. Look at it yourself! Who wouldn't want to rip up the streets like you had a Harley, a Victory, or even one of those Star Motorcycles? Maybe if the Vmax was in black, you'd REALLY have that tough guy look on the track. Too bad it's not a good-handling bike.

* Only one Demo featured four of the mysterious five bikes that were in the 2005 8 Hours of Suzuka. I'm on a mission to get at least one of those bikes, if not all of them. At one point, all I was getting was extra helmets and not enough of other stuff (gloves, boots, and especially suits).

* I must say that some courses are more enjoyable with motorcycles as opposed to cars. I tend to like Citta di Aria with motorcycles (some of you know I HATE this track with cars). Costa di Amalfi is not as fun with motorcycles, but at least I can take those long downhill esses at full speed before braking hard. Nürburgring Nordschleife is a bit more enjoyable with bikes as well. I've done some practice runs on this ultra-long course. I must say it's fun and not as much of a purgatory.

* The scooters may be slow (what do you expect?), but they provide some of the easiest riding. It wasn't until this game in which I learned there is a such thing as racing scooters. The Yamaha TMAX Works scooters provide a style of racing that is almost a virtual unknown for many motorcycle purists.

All in all, I'm enjoying the Tourist Trophy experience. Sure it's a use of GT4's graphics and such, but look at what you're getting out of it. This is still a proper racing game even if it's "GT4 with bikes." And to really prove it's a proper racing game, there are even modified courses to tailor the motorcycles. I still sort of wished more bikes could be on the track at once. Maybe a bike count of an AMA Superbike or MotoGP World Championstip event would be better for Tourist Trophy 2. This is a great game once you get the hang of it. If Tourist Trophy was a college class, then one could say that GT4 would be a prerequiste for Tourist Trophy. How so? Well, most of TT's tracks can also be in GT4, give or take certain configurations. The only exception is that TT includes the Valencia circuit, which I'd love to see in GT's sequel.

Well, that's all. Comment at will. And it's good to be back.
