Have you chosen a car for this week, if not I would like to suggest this little number.

435pp which gives around 250bhp depending on if you lighten the car or not and it felt great with zero tuning.

Assuming that nothing has changed since the end of testing at around midnight last night, there's a good chance that the car will be the race modified Cappuccino, with something like 415pp and sports hards. (Protip: add ballast to the car to make it less tail-happy, and since this lowers your PP, you can have nearly every other tuning option on the car. (I say nearly, as my car gets to 420pp when doing this and I had to take off a few horsepower.) We were able to go a few seconds quicker with full ballast and all tuning parts than with no ballast and less tuning parts.)

Caffeine Hit

Feeling drowsy? This cheeky little racer will wake up your senses for sure. It was inevitable that this car would feature in a TCR event as it's got great potential for close racing. It hasn't got much power, but it can still catch you out if you're too heavy on the loud pedal.

CURRENT COMBO : Caffeine Hit

RACE NO: 5 OPEN

START DATE: Wednesday 1st June
CAR: Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) RM '95
WEIGHT: 650kg
TYRES: Sports Hard
ROOM NUMBER: SEE LAST POSTS
TRACK 1: Available from GTP_Joylord

Jon, Mike or Joe, open a room if you like. Jon has a track available, but I think he's working on another track to test tonight. Remember to make it a private room so we can all choose tracks.

If anyone else has 3 sector track that suits the Cappuccino, please feel free to join and share your track.

Will be on later.

I just finished making a couple of tracks. Nobody seems to have a room up, so I guess I'll open my lounge in a minute. If you don't have me, add JoeOfTheFire. Ignore the name of my lounge, I was doing some testing for a race a couple of days ago.

EDIT: Closed for a minute or two while I adjust part of a track.

EDIT: Back up.

EDIT: annnnd closed again as nobody has actually joined, and I've done a lot of laps.

Sorry John, we were having a great race then but I dc'd off the psn network and couldn't get back on. So I called it a night and now gonna watch some family guy.
Catch you on track soon ;)

Sorry I missed you Joe. I haven't had a look at the thread until now.

No worries Mike.

I think this will be an awesome event...... a tricky little number but none the less loads of potential for fun. It's a track that has a challenging first sector that I abosuletly love as the rest of the track would just require balance of how much aero you can get away with, in order to make that over take. I had only tried the modified Cappuccino tonight and it was hard to find a good balance so that the back wouldn't step out on me but..... I think that a hard rear doesn't help. I'm sure Mike and Sam would be able to sort this out for us.

I have recomended that a weight of 650kg be used with an uncapped bhp and pp running sports hard as stated by Alexi (lovely picture by the way) and run heavy damage (optional) just a thought.

I would like to apologise to people who's tracks we hadn't had a chance to test this week but to be honest I was so busy with every chance that I had with the PS3 trying to make small/challenging and fun three sector tracks myself,... that I wasn't online much.

Anyway to kick things off I think Sam has already set a time of 1:29.1xx and I hope to be chasing him on the track and sneek in an overtake.:)

The track is ready for download.

:tup:see you on track laterz.

Amendment to combo
The weight is 650kg and as much horsepower as you can squeeze out of it.
Be sure to give it an oil change, because every HP counts with this car.

Have been testing with Captain Tiggles and he's already in the 28's. Can anyone beat a 1m 28.9s?
Track is available from GTP_Joylord.

Racing will start tomorrow evening around 8pm

Looks like i need to do some work then lol but I think most of that is in the setup.

Are we allowed to be heavier than the 650kg?

Anyways, with 650kg, I did a 1:29.746 and lost .250 somewhere in the lap.

EDIT: was 0.6 up on my previous best pf a 1:29.313, and then messed up. I guess I've found the pace.

Yep, you can add as much weight and aero as you like.

1:28.283, and I can get another 0.350 in the first sector (was up by that much at the start of the next lap, before running wide onto the grass). 1:27's are possible! :sly:

I guess I worked out how to get the most out of the car. ;) (I also just edited out me explaining my basic setup in my earlier post :sly:)

EDIT: Yes this was done online in my private lounge, not in the offline practice mode (just in case you were wondering).

Tigs effort

1’28.905 (Alexi will vouch)

Cappuccino setup
Every device that aids power output
Aero 15F 30R
Ballast +60kgs, positioned at the cars centre

Transmission- 190kph
1st 2nd gearing default
3rd 1.646
4th 1.284
5th 1.003

Suspension
-3 ride height -2
9.0 spring rate 8.0
7 dampers 7
7 dampers 7
4 anti roll bars 5

0.6 camber 0.4
0.00 toe 0.08

Laps 5, 6, 7, 8 seem to be where the tyres are at their best.
Cars power runs weak past 9000rpm, so short shift for maximum drive.

In a nut shell, this is as fast as this setup will go... I'm humble, honest

I'll see if I can get your setup down to roughly the times that I get with my own setup, tiggles. 👍 My setup requires me to know the car's limit/when it starts to drift. on a good number of corners. I'm guessing yours is more stable.

EDIT: Had a potential 1:27 lap, as I'd had with my own setup too.

I don't notice any major difference between each setup's handling, the only differences that matter are that I used full aero in mine, and had my transmission 7mph higher. I'll be switching to yours anyway, as it seemed easier to get to the point of nearing a 1:27, and I'll add on the aero and extra mph.

EDIT: ...wow. I just had the perfect lap, which got me a... *Drumroll*

1:27.594!!! *Fanfare*

Sorry I've been MIA all this week, it's been pretty busy, and will most likely stay that way for the next couple days. I'll try to make it at least once this week, as I'd love to race the ol' caps. Also, I've got a great track for 500pp+ cars, which I'll keep tucked away for now. It's got my seal of approval, hopefully it'll work well with future cars.

Flippin heck tucker!
I thought I was doing ok with a 29.1. Tonight should be pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing your set-up Tiggles, would be interesting to how Joe's differs.

See you guys tonight 👍

Apparently - The PD servers are offline. Update imminent.

I switched to tiggles' setup, as I found it easier to get to the point of doing a lap close to a 1:27. I added in 2 things from my own setup, which are: full aero on both ends, and my max speed 7mph higher than his (I'll post my ratios within the next hour or so). They're the only differences. The aero doesn't change much, but the extra 7mph let's the car reach hgher speeds, due to how it looses power in the higher RPM. I get very close to hitting 120mph before turn 1 on an ideal start to a lap/exit from the last corner. Also, don't expect that kind of pace from me in a race, as that was a perfect lap. I'll probably be in the mid 1:28's once my tires warm up after something like 4 or 5 laps.

PD servers still seem to be up, by the way. All online features are still working.

EDIT for transmission:

First, hit the "reset to default" button, and then set set the "max speed" to 124mph (1 setting higher than the 190kph/118mph tiggles had at this part on his setup). Now for the actual ratios.

1st- 3.287
2nd- 2.227
3rd- 1.588
4th- 1.226
5th- 0.945

The whole lap is spent in 4th or 5th gear, with the possible exception of the uphill left in the first sector, as I'm not sure if 3rd or 4th gear provides the best traction out of it. If I have to add more top speed to my setup to allow for drafting, that'll definitely become a 3rd gear corner.

My max speed is 138mph, so I'll hit the limiter at 132mph. As I said above, I hit just under 120mph before turn 1, so I may need a few more mph to allow for drafting.

Any idea how many laps each race will be?

EDIT: Well, it took a 22 lap run to do it, with half worn tyres, but I finally hit 120mph going into turn 1.

This combo looks really fun :) Will be looking to join in barring any connection issues.

Thanks to @captain tiggles for posting the set ups - makes life easier for guys like me who joins in at the last minute :)

I'm not going to be able to make it tonight unfortunately.
My friends having a beach party that looks to fun to miss.

Jon isn't about tonight either, so Mike, Neenor, Joe, Tiggles, Kat and regulars can open a room on our behalf if you want to.

Back tomorrow

👍

I have really missed out this week and I too will have no choice but to try out Sam's (thanks Sam) setup as I have had no track time. Are you gents enjoying it this week? Any good racing...... or replays they would like to share.

Not many races chap and today the monthly online races series has taken over for the day. I had one race but it was pretty strung out.

Hi gents I have a room open

Room no: 1472 4711 0081 4392 2979

I hope you guys will join me for a few hours. Running 12 laps at the moment with heavy damage.

👍

I would want to join you, but I have to make money first and the game is running so damn slow right now.:grumpy:

If the room's still up in an hour or two (probably won't be due to dinner though >_>), I'll be able to join you then, as I'm a little bit busy right now.

Would I be able to give it a go tonight? :)
I'd like to get some practice in as well, i'll join Joylord's room if it's still up, if not i'll make one and post the number up here!
