Dave.

Something that may help here is a time qualifier; all members that would like to join this great new idea for TCR would run a time quali.

Say on GT - Paddock in one make car / stock

Then post their fastest lap time in the thread for you, make a list of member’s time and pair the time accordingly to make two equal teams on time abilities.

You would end up then with a fast members and a slow members in each team, well on paper it would be close, as you know in a race it changes somewhat.

This may help to move things along a bit too

I think all the fresh ideas for TCR are fantastic to run along with the fortnightly main combo, a good verity of race events. Testing / Racing, Midweek break, main event, team racing, endurance and back to testing / Racing again ready for part two of the main fortnightly combo.

Little bit of everything to keep members happy, they’ll be able to turn on their PS3 any day of the week knowing that there is something going on that they like.

Nobody responded to my invitation to do some racing on Shakedown last night so joined an open lobby and thought I'd share a race where a big crash happened.

Yeah sorry Jon I was trying to summon up some life in me, but had a bad one yesterday, did see your invite, but had to close and go to bed just after 9pm. Lets hope a number of us can get on tonight for some fun.

Is it really Wednesday midweek break again already?

Theme night @ Toscana, I’ve made a small change to what I think is TCR’s first day / night race at a new track combo. Format is two theme races in the Alfa, a day shuffle (everybody loves a shuffle) and a day / night shuffle, then back to the Alfa theme.

I made the track at Toscana nice and easy as it’s our first time here, but still tried to make it interesting with a couple of places were you have to be careful, the track, long straight into a double right then left (ok so far) now watch out for the dimple on the map, it has a nasty dip which will upset the rear of the car.

Into the back straight with very fast flowing bends running flat out till braking hard for the hair-pin at the end of the lap.

I know this track is not as exciting as Eifel, and the tools we have to work with could be a lot better (PD) but I hope you enjoy the change for verity.

This is a very easy combo as it’s a new track; the Alfa makes it even easier.

Stock car with oil change as it comes from the dealership.

If you’ve not got this car already, run over to the Online Collector’s Dealership right now.

Get in quick before PD updates the listings again.

I’ve shared this very easy track so you can download it, you’ll see it’s very easy and very fast, a lap is just over the minute, or maybe under if your quick.

Lovely vid John ... and fast upload! :)👍

Phil's Fun night was indeed fun. Real good fun. Tight, Fair & Fast.
Can you imagine what a full grid would have done to the room? :sly:
For those who missed it, I hope you had fun in other ways ...

And now for why I'm still up at 2pm ...

All credits go to Phil for the combo and Cpt_D for the hosting.

Good Video Jon, thanks Cobani for the nice words and a big thanks to everyone that came and supported this midweek Wednesday break, even had guests ask if we do this often and what to watch out for.

It’s always a worry when trying something new for TCR, as the standard of what the members expect is very high, the close racing was even better than I thought it would be in this combo, we tried some night racing, and a shuffle (Mr_M5_D shuffle) but the racing in the Alfa 155 was so good on this simple track we didn’t need any other entertainment for the evening.

It’s a good idea of Jon’s keeping the combos here.

This way by flicking through them, if members did miss any combo they wish to try or re-run, main event or Wednesday break just post in the thread, I don’t mind for a Wednesday gives me a week off :)

See you all in the Main Event.

Your in the wrong job Jon, should be a camera man  I've give up with picture and video's can't compete with the quality from you and Cobani. 👍👍

Enduro Track is now shared for the McLaren MP4-12C '10

I'll post details a bit later.

Phillip.

Hello everyone!

I've been trying to get online the last couple of days, but have had terrible connection problems. I called PS3 support and they're exchanging my PS3 as it seems to have a faulty ethernet port.

Hey ho, I'm off to Dorset tomorrow for Round 2 of my kart championship, so I'll be getting a racing fix at least.

Here's the track and a video of a few of the guys I'll be racing with.

claypigeontrack.png

Probably won't be back online until end of next week or the following week as they're picking it up on Monday.

👍

Looks like it's been a fun fun fun wednesday! It's a shame I can't make it on week days. The Alfa 155 DTM is just pure awesomeness as I discovered in the WRS 54 and WRS Online races a few weeks ago. Keep it up guys and maybe see you friday night!

Have a good time over the weekend Alexi and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. And seeing that you’ll be away for most of the weekend I might as well take this opportunity to wish you a happy birthday for Sunday and have an awesome day. Whats it now 50+?

Bart you’re missing out as I have been driving in a few open lobbies recently and you just don’t get that controlled and good race etiquette that you’ll find at TCR. But we miss you.

we tried some night racing, and a shuffle (Mr_M5_D shuffle) but the racing in the Alfa 155 was so good

That was indeed a strange "shuffle" Phil, all with the same car, but great nonetheless. Once again Jon is quick in posting a great video, and kudos to Bo for the picture, you're an artist 👍

Another great combo thanks to all that raced :)

Good luck with your racing Alexi, hope to see you back at TCR soon!

M5, full weight reduction plus aero, stages I,2,3 engine tune.

Good fun in turbonator's room last night testing and racing the combo for team racing event.

The tuned M5 on sport softs was just about right, complimented the track well, good grip in the right places, but will still let go once you've past the point of no return.

Look forward to seeing this new concept to TCR and how the teams are going to be played out.

I think the addition of the fortnightly format has given us more scope in TCR now, whereby we can mix and match events, you can always tell if an event is a hit, if outsiders (guests) ask when the next event is, or do you do this often, then it must have hit the enjoyment spot.

Alexi and Jon have very busy personal lives, it’s nice to be with so many great members in TCR willing to help move TCR forward.

Phillip. 👍

I watched the replays this morning before heading out to work, and the over taking down the straight and also the back straights were amazing to watch.
Not to mention the glowing break dics down to the first corner. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed driving the M5 on Dave's track but to pull this one off we'll all have to work together as the team thing seemed fun but complex, as long as I have Gary on my team I'm all go 👍 I'll try get a replay up if you guys want. Also super driving from everybody last night very entertaining.

Thanks Jon 👍

Every day there seems to be something new to try at TCR, and this car, track and team combo has given it a whole new dynamic. Great stuff!

Hi guys, I have been busy this week, with my job and with some other competitions I'm involved in (Autozam untuned, Honda S800 untuned).

But I'll try to be there next week.

Hope you have fun with karting Imalexi.

Edit: I loved that ancient Monza photo. The Toscana environment permits to create tracks that remind the ancient non permanent tracks on country roads. I had some interesting tracks, close to some existing historic circuits, but unfortunately they were from the period that you could not yet use them online (Rouen, Reims, another Bathurst(but that's an Eifel-one) ).

TCR – Endurance Race Wet / Dry Sunday 25th March.

picture.php

This is our first endurance race for TCR members and GTP guests run in private lounge, race will start prompt on the hour ( 14:00, 15:00, 16:00) and so on throughout the afternoon and evening, with the help of other members of course. I'll open my lounge about 13.45hrs.

Car to be used is the Premium McLaren MP4 – 12 ‘10

This is stock new from the Dealer weighs in at with no miles + oil change; 612bhp – 1350Kg – 569pp

Lounge settings will be 611bhp - 1350Kg - 569pp.

Tyres permitted Racing Intermediates, Racing Hard and Sport Soft must use all three sets. The 15 lap race with two pit stops for tyre changes, takes about 45 minutes, pit strategy and tyre choice is all down to you. Looking at the weather you pick what to use, and when to make your pit stops so long as you use all three sets. (Inters, RH, SS)

It is a longer track than normal for TCR so you will be racing the elements, the track and your fellow members.

Watch out for Spy, his pit strategy is fantastic.

As you know we can’t predict the weather, the settings will be regenerated with each race so even I don’t know what the outcome of this will be.

Pit Strategy is key 2 pits are compulsory, but you can stop more if you need too.

The 4.51 miles track is shared.

Phillip.

That looks great Phil! I would love to join today, but will only be able to do so in the evening and after Sunday Cup practice. But I'll be there, should be great fun, as ever!
The car is stock, so you don't have to worry about bringing the wrong setup to the track and the pitstops ... 👍:mischievous:👍

I've just set all the clocks in the house forward by 1 hour and asked the nation to do so to, so the first TCR-Enduro is getting closer already.

I'll be working today but will try and see if I can muster the energy in the evening. Looks good.

Here's a video from last night as Gary and I found a great clean room last night with some great racing. Here's a video of a race that I thought was fun.

Sounds good Phil, hope I can mate it.

I thought the evening would be best for everyone so thats ok, I've looked many Sundays around the 2pm time and found it very quiet.

Thinking this maybe a good time for the odd TCR member to pop in or more so for GTP_Guests at a loose end on a Sunday afternoon.

I will not be there all afternoon (Grand Kids / F1 Race) but will still open the lounge at 13.45hrs for any member / Guest to pop in and try a race or two, our lives must come 1st, the sunshine is pulling me outside now, so I find it hard to be racing too. :)

A little light reading if you wish, we all know you can drive fast and we are all capable of winning races in any of our combos, but here I’ve tried to make this more a test of your skills, using my experience and the limited tools we have to work with, I’ve endeavoured to reproduce real life conditions of what you would expect.

With a blend of rain, standing water, spray and dry conditions, you have to work out which tyres to use at the right time, and then find how much grip is available to you when driving at the limit, as there maybe standing water on the track, tyre wear and the pressure of your fellow members.

I think I have the weather setting right, in testing I had a mix of rain, standing water, dry, light shower and dry again, one thing I don’t know is whether this repeats, or the programing just runs random and you could get heavy rain again.

This I’m afraid is where you have to use your own skills, track and car is a great combo really nice to drive, there are 4 good straights so you can go flat out, at the end of each straight is a twisty bit, one tip I will share watch your speed at the end of each straight, tyre wear and standing water can soon have you off the track, you can very easily be too hot into these parts.

This is a great idea from Jon to have an endurance race; I could have just gone for a dry 15 / 20 lap race, but to me that just extending our main fortnightly race event by a few laps and not really a challenge of your great skills, to make it an endurance.

As with all our other events the combo is just a combo, only we the members make them work.

May see you guys later. 👍

Phillip.
