Looks interesting. I've never played any Trackmania games before, but it seems like a great place to join the series. Are there going to be massive servers with a thousand people playing at once? I know you can choose the flags for your cars, but is that the only customization option available for your car?
There's unlockable liveries, numbers and stickers, even in the beta. Online rooms seem to be limits of 100.

It is the third day out of four of the beta, and I can safely say one thing about this game...

This game is absolutely insane, just like traditional Trackmania. It may not have some of the features that made the PC version so popular, but it's delightful to see that such a great series returns to the console pleb while not changing the formula at all. The style harks back to the '90s, back in the days where games like Ridge Racer and Daytona USA dominated the racing genre. The four venues are all equally fun and all have their main attractions - Canyon is twisty and all over the place, with epic banks and tight, winding roads; Valley has a definite rallycross vibe with massive jumps, tricky corners and all kinds of obstacles; Stadium has its tried-and-tested formula unchanged, with numerous kinds of roads to traverse which make it the most flexible of the four venues; and Lagoon - my personal favorite - has anti-gravity tracks a la Mario Kart 8, and considering how crazy most Trackmania circuits can be, it's a very welcome addition.
The car customization is frankly solid, with numerous combinations between liveries, logos, numbers and finishes; the music department is worth mentioning as well thanks to the great playlist the game offers - there are all kinds of electronica with music from labels such as Fool's Gold, Ed Banger, Turbo, Boysnoize Records and Monstercat (*fangasm intensifies*), which further enhance the game's colorful yet classy personality - and the "systemic music" feature gives every race its own personality with the background music changing to the race's pace.
The track editor, easily the series's main selling point, is as solid as it has always been - with three levels of customization depth - Beginner, Standard and Advanced (which isn't available in the beta) - as well as a random track generator. Unlike the PC games, however, you have a "construction budget", but it's not terribly restrictive. It takes time to get the hang of the track editor's controls - it's surely no keyboard! - but once you do you're able to make some truly stellar creations.
Unfortunately, I cannot judge the local multiplayer aspect as of yet, since it isn't available in the beta, but from what I've seen, the "hot seat" local multiplayer from the PC games makes a triumphant return - and that Double Driver mode looks like rage-inducing fun - looking forward to trying it out in some Valley tracks, it's going to be the wildest rally ever!
Overall, this game is an excellent effort to bring the mindless fun, brutal pace, massive customization, and the "just-one-more-go-before-I-go-to-bed" gameplay of the Trackmania series to PS4 and Xbox One. Can't wait for the full release! ...Even though Driveclub's DLCs and the Forza 6 Porsche Expansion will take up most of my free time during Easter; I think I'll wait before getting TM Turbo because of this - but that won't mean I won't buy this game.

I ended up in a lobby that was running "LOL" tracks. Interesting stuff there. Lots of craziness with the courses and it wasn't anything like the regular tracks available in the beta.
I remember always going to LOL Track lobbies on TM2 Stadium. Sometimes they're really challenging.

Enjoyed the beta and ordered the full game. Trophy list looks pretty hardcore :scared:

I remember about 6 years ago I was trying to get every gold on Trackmania forever, Sometimes I literally spent HOURS trying to gold the black series events (this was only only stadium didn't bother with the other environments). But yeah the trophy list for this does look insane.

Insanity doesn't even come close to describing this game, especially after playing the closed beta. Can't wait to add this to my Xbox collection.

I can't wait to get my hands on the PS4 version, either! The Driveclub DLCs and the Forza 6 Porsche Expansion come first in my bucket list, though. :v

I put the beta on for a quick try at the weekend and ended up playing for hours. Ordered. While we decorate at home my wheel is out of action. I'm going to spend some time with this before going back to Project Cars. It's a shame there's no cockpit mode but I was still very impressed. I like the fact you can escape the confines of the tracks and go play off-road for a bit.

So is this driveclub's arcade racer fantasy follow up?

anyone in here can give some first impressions?

It's a lot like Hot Wheels: fast, crazy and furious, with a very solid "play, create, share" concept to boot. Oh, and it's made in France, which could satisfy your patriotic fervor.

The PS4 pre-order is messed up. I and several other people complaining on the Ubisoft forum have ended up with a full priced 1 hour trial version that won't unlock (but will let us buy the game a second time if we should for some reason feel so inclined).
Hopefully they'll get that embarrassment sorted out sooner rather than later.

what a bummer, i got an email from amazon on monday saying the game was coming a day earlier than expected, which is today, yay....just got another email of amazon saying i wont be getting it now till the 29th cos they've run short of copies to send out....:( might have to download it now...

Just bought it in the ps store. Now on my way to work. Can't wait for tonight!!

According to the Trackmania twitter account they're investigating.
To me it looks like the PS Store guys messed up and put the demo version download behind the pre-order or something like that. Or publisher Ubisoft sent them the wrong thing. I don't think the developer itself is to blame here.

My mom gifted me the PS4 version for Easter alongside the Forza 6 Porsche Expansion. This is going to be a great day. :D

EDIT: I like how the progresses you've made on the beta get carried over in the full game.

Well, the launch is a mess. Typical Ubisoft published title then. Anybody managed to successfully play without features being locked off?

Seems to be affecting those who took part in the beta or pre-ordered from PSN.

It only aplies to the pre-ordered version. I downloaded it thus mourning without pre-ordering and it is fine.

There is an issue though, that my medals gained during the beta aren't recognised in the rewards system for new liveries.

The "other features not accessible" issue has been worked out for me. Just turn off and back on your console and restart the game. Every feature should be available this way. ;)

Has anyone had a chance to try the Double Driver mode? How does it work? Does one player accelerate and brake while the other steers or something?

Will be searching for prices on the XB1 version tomorrow after work.

From what I've seen, both players control throttle, brakes and steering at the same time, with the car reacting accordingly.
