Traction Control 1.05 patch problem

My DFGT works exactly the same as before the patch. I can use all the same on the fly menus in all modes. I think this means you should look to other causes and not to the patch itself.

Well its only happend since the patch,has worked flawlessly ( loosly used word ) up until then.

And its not only me thats having this issue.

Various people from all different countries have this issue, some it works on, some it doesnt.

Short of the patch causing this, I can see no other real cause.

Either way, why does it work for some , but not others, we all should have the exact same software.. ( aledgedly ) and they should all work the exact same way... shouldnt they ????

If it were just me, I would concede to the its not the patch. But there seem to be a fair few folk having this issue.

Not really a rant... more im confused why some work and some don't...

As said earlier, if PD announced a changelog of the patches we would have some kind of answer...but good old PD haven't, and this leaves me only to ask the question, why some but not others....👍

As far as I see, only one people here have reported the same issue. Others didn't have that issue at all. So that alone pretty much excludes that the patch itself is faulty. If not, ALL people with the SAME WHEEL has you have, would HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.

Likely there's something in the other enf of the process (that means YOUR SYSTEM) that is conflicting with the patch, causing the reported problem.

If all DFGT users reported the same issue, then it was definetively PD's fault and a patch problem.

Since that's not the case, there's no grounds yet to state that clearly.

See WHY there's no contradiction there?
 
No difference whatsoever after patch 1.05. I can still change TCS on the fly on my DFGT and pretty much everything in the on the fly menu as well.

There are actually at least 4 people if you count correctly who have the same issue...

NOW.....

Im not saying it was the patch that had an issue in it... obviously if that were the case then as you say all DFGT owners would have the same issue.

However,

Since I am not the only one with this issue then there must be something not quite right... I think thats fair to say.

Either an installation corruption , or conflict or something.

My aim was to determine if the new patch WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THIS... or not.

It seems from the majority... NOT

But this doesnt answer my next question of.. ok if not why are there people having this issue ( and it isnt just me )

Finally

If when I installed the patch,(and there was no interuption eg power loss, cancel etc etc, ) then surely as I have no control over the installation like a PC , something from either Sony / PD has contributed to my problem.

Im not trying to say PD caused it and they are crap...

Im simply just trying to find out WTF has gone wrong , in the hope i can maybe fix it.

I do not want to start all over again , because of this... im now LVL 28 A SPEC / LVL 20 B SPEC and have a garage of almost 200 cars.

If its possible to resolve this issue without re-starting... I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW.

Lastly...

Since this has happend post patch 1.05 and there are no other explainations as yet..

The patch is almost certainly contributed to this problem... wether you like it or not. 👍
 
I'm in Asia and I'm using an Asian copy of GT5. TCS and ASM adjustment via the RA dial no longer works in GT Life mode. It still works in arcade mode.

So... It isnt just me

This patch has almost certainly in some way caused an issue with the software.

Just because some dont have the issue means nothing.

What happens if this only effects people that are up to a certain level when they apply the patch / or people that have DFGT plugged in / unplugged when patching.. im not saying thats what it is.

But there is definatley something causing this.

ASIA / UK / BELGIUM are some countries involved, and even if this were a corrupt save file, I cant see it effecting so many people in exactly the same way odds are too high.

I have another account with a different save file, level 0 A-spec I'll check if it still works there right after my bob finishes his race.

Now I guess we try to understand what has caused it, and if at all possible... how we can fix it.
 
Ive just done a bit of testing to try and find out exactly whats up.

Here are my findings

ARCADE - ALL WORK OK
PRACTICE - TCS / ASM GREYED OUT
A SPEC RACE - TCS / ASM GREYED OUT
ONLINE RACE - TCS / ASM GREYED OUT

I used two types of car , FR NISSAN SILVIA RACE CAR , 4WD NISSAN GTR ROAD CAR

Interestingly

When I was in the race car no torque split was available to change , being a rear wheel drive car ( as it shouldnt )

When I changed to 4WD GTR , the torque split option became availabe and I could alter it, but the TCS / ASM were still greyed out.

So it appears what is there is working correctly, apart from the TCS / ASM ... which to my mind appear to have been switched off by PD.

This is pretty annoying.. I bought the DFGT for this ... I already had a DFPRO.... !!!

Is it supposed to be like this , and people's machine's it still works on are incorrect, or is it not supposed to be like this and the patch has buggerd it up ???

JEEZ PD...c'mon lets TEST STUFF before sending it out !!!!

I dont want to be a GT6 BETA TESTER.... I want GT5 to work correctly, that is after all what I paid for. ( man with all thats wrong in GT5 I am so glad I didnt give them £150 for a sig edition )

Patches are supposed to FIX issues , not create more

What do I do now in a change weather situation.. before I could add TCS to cope better in rain... now I have no option.

This means its not been disabled in the patch, but means the patch has corrupted my game save / config save somehow.

FANTASTIC WORK PD !!!

Now I have to continue with it like this, lvl 28 no way am I starting again.

Another problem to add the to the ever growing list of GT FAILS.

This might not make a difference, but after downloading the patch, I decided I wanted to have my own background music for menus and game play, since I started using that, my game will freeze randomly and require me to physically turn off the power to the PS3 to restart it.... Just a thought. :indiff:

If I were getting this game for free..i'd have no complaints whatsoever.

However I paid for a DFGT £90, £40 for a game, £300 for a PS3... maybe to you that isnt alot of money.. to me it is.. and for that much and 5 years dev time I EXPECT it to work properly.

Instead we have been dished out a half arsed game, and now patches that are causing issue's

( oh and BTW , im not jumping to conclusions... try reading the forum you'll see there are many others with same problems ..aswell as a load more than just this )

anything constructive to add ???... no ... good ... now run along theres a good lad.

I'm having same problem, will try that with new save data. But first thing first, I will try delete GAME DATA (not save!!!). Re download patch and install game data and see if it work. If not, then I'm start over.

What the hell?? Is this for reals?

Needless to say, I have the same problem as ESTORIL and it's quite irritating, since I used to start every race with TCS off to heat my tyres and then set it on to improve tyre life (specially online).

And I thought everyone was having this problem!! I really don't get why this is happening. I'm from Spain btw, and I have my game set to english.

Well, I did remove it then redownloaded it. Still not work, back up save data then delete, it work. Somehow 1.05 ****** up save data. I'm level 24 and b spec level 27. And also 59 gold. I'm not sure if I want to start all over again. I guess I better gift rare car to my wife then keep push b spec to level 35 to get x2010 the. Gift that to my wife, start new game, gift back then I will level up faster and maybe do some special online event to get 1 million exp to level up fast.

HELLO... !!!

As i said earlier, EVERYTHING works fine.. EVEN THE BUTTON works fine.

Its the MENU, TCS / ASM greyed out.

brake bias F/R works fine

ABS works fine

This should tell you that the actual button and mapping are in good working order.

Main point im trying to make is..

If its a patch thing, where they intended this to happen.

How come my friends still allows him to alter his, he has the same patch as me.

If its not been intended to happen, its caused a corruption in my game.

Have you made sure the button mappings are still correct and did youtry remap the RA settings to diff. buttons then map them back to the correct ones and try again?

When someone is offering you configuraiton advice after you ask for it, it migh tbe useful to take the advice and try the ideas before going off halfcocked.

its on the DFGT wheel only.

I might be wrong here , I have never used a G25/ G27

but unless you have the DFGT , you cannot use the ON THE FLY adjustment.

If you map the RA functions to the DS3 then G25 and other wheel users can also us the RSA function. :)

No need to act like a 9 year old kid - just answer the question that the adults who offered to help asked.

Based on your temper and raging I kind of hope your gamesave never gets fixed, think of it as peotic justice for the raging toddler.

It is always ahoot to watch "raging lunatics" on the interwebs who dont even bother putting their locaiotn in the visable profile - says a lot abotuthe person and their personality. Behind the anonimity of the interwebs they are all rage and anger - even while they ask for help. No-one wants to help a raging todler.

Take it down afew notches and act like an adult and youwill be amazed at the help and assistance that could be forthcoming. :)
