I've got a few Legionnaires (sp?) this morning and was trying them out in a few raids. First I send a couple to a village and I got a bit of res and no casualties. So I found some more innactive villages and since it was pretty harmless I decided to send just one leggionaire to each. And although there were no troops there, both of my man died.

Can someone explain to me what killed them?

One unit alone will always die. Part of the rules. Even if you send one of your maxed out level 20 equites caesaris to a bombed down 0 inhabitant village...

But will a wall have any effect in a village with no troops to defend it?
 
Yes, it will (however slight).

I'm going to need a sitter (*sigh* again) by the end of the week so my res don't max while I'm at school :)

Hmm, in the pure sense you are correct. The wall provides a defensive bonus - in essence boosting the stats of your defending units and your morale bonus. If there are no defending units a wall cannot help you defend this way and it is highly unlikely anyone has so much more pop than you (usually in the hundreds or thousands difference) that your morale bonus (the standard defense of a village vs. attackers [and what killed your solo leggys]) will be enough to defend an attack of two units, even at level 20.

And before you ask, there are only rumours and speculation about what the defense of a village is and how exactly the morale bonus is calculated, though I believe my good friend descent has the calculation somewhere.

Here is a war-time guide that was highly recommended to Paragon players in the last round. - credit to anaracaix for this.

Granary:

Inhabitants > 200 --> Granary Level 12 or above
Inhabitants > 300 --> Granary Level 14 or above
Inhabitants > 400 --> Granary Level 16 or above
Inhabitants > 500 --> Granary Level 18 or above

Wall:

Inhabitants > 200 --> Wall Level 10 or above
Inhabitants > 300 --> Wall Level 12 or above
Inhabitants > 400 --> Wall Level 14 or above
Inhabitants > 500 --> Wall Level 16 or above
 
Thanks for the explanations again. I joined a Brazilian alliance but all the members so far are located in the South East region, while I'm in the North West. :indiff:

So I made a new account in the South East and I'm playing both of them for now, later on I'll decide which to keep. I know only one account per player is allowed in each server, but I'm not using them to help each other, it's simply because of my alliance. If there's no members near me there's no point in staying with them.
 
If you are going to go that route, make damn sure you edit your profile for both accounts. Under the Player Profile --> Account tab there should be something about "PC use with another player" where you need to add the other account name.

Otherwise - bannination.

Nah that's not true.... In my best times last year I sitted like 15 accounts of friends and inactive users with one computer... nobody will care until you start pushing single accounts with the others...
 
Well, I play both at home and at work, and here at work there must be something around 500 computers connected to the internet with the same IP. So even if I state that I use more than one account in the same computer there might be another Travian player in the building I'm not aware of.

It's sad I only found Brazilian players after I registered for V3, I thought this game was unknown over here but there's a bunch of us playing and I'm the only one not in the South East region. :lol::indiff:

Is anyone here playing in the North West region?

I am and I think Iceman is aswell... The ip thing really is no big issue, so don't worry.

Hehe, I know exactly what you mean Max, I was "sitting" 10+ accounts at a time in Paragon and playing as grandmacougar in GTP-R from almost the first day she created the account.


I think lots of GTP-R members are in the NW, but maybe far from you.
 
Is there a T3 graphic pack that works on Firefox? I tried to intall the one from the website but I had no luck.
 
Aw, I got an incoming (Teuton, surprise surprise) in 48 mins...

My hero (33 mins until completion) is gonna die... :(
 
And why can't you get your hero out of town? You have a 15 minute window.

I trained a second Legionnaire to use res to minimise res loss, might kill one attacking unit or something :)

What concerns me though, is that the attacker is in an alliance (HiN), and he's the biggest player in it :|

Luckily I've found a seemingly unused 13 pop village. 4 fields away, for my hero to stay out the attack :)

Yeah, a Teuton attacked me this morning too but went back empty handed. When he attacked my troops were raiding too and they returned a minute after his attack. :lol:

He was going to get some res from me but I managed to exchange the amount he would get for other res I had less, so my cranny protected everything. :)

Poor guy used 15 clubs and 20 axefighters, three hours wasted. :D

That proved to be valid - I have yet another incoming from HiN (player: Paris) :indiff:
