KB thats a very mature message you sent to me over GT5. You guys really have to stop overreacting. This isn't the WRS ya know. It is PD's fault and I'm just taking advantage of their mistakes.
Lol, I know it was mature. Whats not mature is you bringing my convo with you on PSN over to these forums. I messaged you there so we wouldn't be going back and forth on here. You are right, it is a game. So why do you feel the need to cheat to get your name in the top 10? For some imaginary fame maybe. I thought you were different from most kids your age and I respected you as a mature, clean driver. Now, not so much....if at all. Good luck with the cheating. i know i'm new here but i find it funny and downright hypocrite crying about shortcuts and getting all 4 wheels off the track when most of the people who's complaining had to resort to using strong active steering to post their times. Turn it off first then you guys can cry all you want.
I'm not defending the shortcut users as I don't use it myself but seeing how you can gain almost 4 tenths with active steering on do make me think that the complainers and cheaters all the same.

ok. i am disappointed. And I guess others are too.
GT5 is supposed to be ''the real driving simulator''
and not just a silly arcade game for kids.
and guess what.. it just isn't.
We ask for a fair-play tt where just driving skills are put to the test
instead we get a snow course where a lightweight MR roadster is 2-3 seconds faster than a 4WD WRS car.
we get annoying red laps for touching here or there, but we don't if we cut our way through the pits or completely chop a corner..
We end up tuning cars like Bollywood drag queens ( high front low back) just because that's faster in GT5 reality.
What I'm trying to say is PD should try fixing these issues so people like me can justify the time they are spending having a good time with their product.
I used to hate it when my wife gave me that: Oh your playing that silly game again, instead of blah blah... and I was explaining, this is not a game honey its a simulator, its like real driving, real racing...

I agree with him. I think it's sad that people who have obviously put in a lot of effort to get into 1.35s feel the need to stoop so low to have their name higher on the board.
I thought you had a great time with the pad, there was no need to cut the track at all.

I thought the real winner here is Dario who's not using the shortcut and WITHOUT using active steering? You know full well that with active steering on you can get on the throttle way earlier than without it, especially with the way most of these cars are set up..i.e oversteery setup

i think the TT seasonal leaderboard is not the place where you can see the nick names of best drivers, TT is just for fun.
The best drivers are on leaderboards like GT Academy and the times were driven with stock cars where you can not adjust anything on the car.
anyway, there are so many good simulator games but GT is the best for me
it is ground zero for all games there will come.

You can't be serious. Active steering, along with other aids, are there for everyone to use as a fair way to run your lap. While the pit road, and other corner short cuts, are also there, they are abviously programming flaws and not meant to be used to run your lap. Therefor, taking advantage of these flaws is clearly cheating. Anyone with half a brain knows this. Your comparison with allowable aids and cheating by exploiting programming flaws is laughable. It doesn't work like that my friend.

Yes, I forgot to mention this myself. Congrats yinato. Even tho the leaderboards are now littered with cheaters lap times, those of us that run within the rules (not taking advantage of obvious programming flaws) know who the real winners are.
I just want to say one more thing to add to my post above. I can guarantee you that if there was a "report lap" button, all of those corner cutting laps would be disallowed. Maybe something for PD to look into doing.

1st should be no aids best time.
then classified by aids starting with the mildest like abs1 then abs2 etc
then active steering strength etc.
sounds complicated but all the difficulty is just determining handicap levels calculating aid combinations, and PD could do that easy.
there could be just 5 handicap levels lets say, and then things are fair and straight.
handicap 0 +time
handicap 1 +time
etc.
either that, or no aids in tt's instead of making a challenge out of stupid things like putting comfort tires on race cars...
cheaters should be manually removed from leader-boards top10 if a programming flaw is letting them do so and PD can't resolve it fast enough through actual programing and update.
that would also help top 10 ghost followers keep it clean and nice.

I'm sorry but active steering doesn't make you faster, active steering off is faster than strong.
AS strong is basically an auto-correct feature, you don't need to countersteer as much as you'd need without it. The ammount of time it gains is relevant to your driving style (drivers with agressive driving style will find AS helpful whereas those with smooth driving style will find it as a disadvantage).
For me - I use AS when it clearly makes it easier for me to string laps together, there's no hidden agenda to it.

Some of the decisions at PD I don't understand, for instance some of the fixes for the game that got in ahead of fixing this very poor laughable penalty system are a joke.
Sorry to say it but it's down to a vast majority of the community as well as PD that they haven't done anything about it. PD obviously look at these forums to see what the community wants, you only have to look at the feedback section to see that they are trying.
Most of the things wanted in the feedback section on the first page should never have taken priority over this game breaking flaw.
Think I will stop there as I nearly got banned last time I complained about the penalty system when the game first come out

How have PD not learned from there mistakes in round 1 of GT academy 2011? People are still complaining about the cutting this year already. I can't see another game dev doing this, surely it's going to be hard work for PD this year in the academy.
They bought this problem on themselves though by listening to the NFS side of the forums

I can hear her now "It's not a simulator it's a silly game, why are you playing a silly game, when we could be (insert her favourite girly activity here). Oh look at the cars driving across the grass, you can't drive like that in real life, you might as well be playing Mario Kart.....etc. etc. etc.....
