TT #36: 600pp Nürburgring 24h/Cote d'Azur. See post 1 for tunes.

Love them gold times. I figured since this came out three days before the race, I'd use a proper competitor car. The Ruf RGT immediately came to mind. I know it's not a Porsche but as close as GT5 gets, and I wanted an excuse to drive it again.

I was going to tune one up, but I figured what the hell, I'll run it stock first. Refreshed chassis, restored engine(car had 9,400 miles) and brought it to I thing 506 PP.

Saw the gold time was 9:54 and soon realized I wasn't racing for bronze after all. My first clean lap with several big mistakes was 9:38.398. Would've had gold on my first lap but I got light in front and had to cut the first of the fast corners in Pflantzgarten.

Not too bad for being fully stock and 94PP under the limit.

Time standards for Cote d'azur
Gold = 1:28.5
Silver = 1:31.2
Bronze = 1:35.6

Vettel 2011 = 1:13.556
GP2 2011 = 1:21.781, 739PP car
PorscheSuper cup 2011= 1:35.734. 542PP car

And Nurburgring 24 hr long track time standards :
Gold = 9:54.000
Silver = 10.11.800
Bronze = 10:41.500

24 hr Pole time: 8:18.382. Use Alzen BMW Z4 GT3 18.05.12

How do you get 608BHP / 1262Kg / 600PP?

Mine is 587BHP / 1264Kg / 600PP with the same amount of wing. What did I get wrong?

Ok, just for the heck of it, I decided to give this Cote TT a try with a F2007. All I can say is WOW. I think I may need to go to the ER after that. My head is spinning and everything seems to be sped up now. Just watched my cat walk across the floor and he looked like he was going 100mph, lol. Man, now I know why I hate those cars, damn wall bangers. They don't wanna turn for crap. My hats off to everyone that can drive these things, I seriously don't know how you do it. And that guy in 1st place, he's not human, he can't be...no way, no how, lol. These things arn't for me, thats for sure. Ended up with a laughable 1:19.xxx. I feel ashamed, lol. Anyways, thats my disaster. Excuse me now while I go recuperate, lol.

I'm with you. I just can't change down that many gears that quickly and steer and remember where the **** I'm supposed to be heading next. How do those F1 guys drive around that place? :ill:

As for the Nurburgring challenge, I love it, but man its cruel. I've been 10 seconds ahead of my ghost several times after 8 minutes or so of sweat and pain and just one tiny wheel a few mm into the grass and I'm toast. I predict a lot of swearing and toy throwing over the next two weeks.

I haven't even started with the time trials yet, did the special and drift events last night and had a go at Nurb with my R390. Had a really nice time on the GT track and then crashed into the wall in the first left hand corner when entering the Nordschleife. I predict many red laps in my future.

Made both...Nürnburgring in the first try with a Ferrari SP1. Its really easy, you can drive really save and slow and still manage a 09:40min..now i start to push a little bit

ooops,my bad.
I typed the wrong weight in :)

I dont know how your car is down so much on power.....
Maybe if you buy a new one it will make the power-don't change the oil though :)

Performance upgrades on mine are:-
sports ecu
sports intake manifold
Racing air filter
sports exhaust manifold
sports catalytic conv.
titanium exhaust
High RPM turbo.

Hope this helps :)

Seems like the fastest car is the nsx-r prototype but what a b-tch to try to control over that long lap.
As for monaco-it just feels totally artificial to me-the 'nose-diving' of the car when the brakes are applied??
It seems like its dropping 30-40mm!
That cant be accurate,can it?

I haven't tried a wheel myself (I have the DFGT but not set it up yet) but pretty sure for Logitech wheels you can reduce the lock to 360 degrees or something (actually might be 270). Check the manual or ask in the wheels/rigs thread here.

No you can't

If it was such a chore, why did you do it? No-one's forcing you to do something you don't wanna, and it's not as if there is some exclusive prize you might miss out on.

Agreed

Anyone having trouble with Nurburgring should just try a car with front and rear downforce. Pretty easy in those cars. I took a Speed 12 at 7/10s and got gold easily.

Standroid
. How do those F1 guys drive around that place? :ill:

Well, they stick to the speed limit and later the footage is sped up for TV. That's why it looks so fast ;)

On a 1:10.369 for 25th at Cote d'azur so I'm getting faster. For anyone whose struggling through the low speed corners at the start of the second sector you need to press lightly on the brakes and release them smoothly while turning to slide around the corners and get the throttle early but gently to regain grip.

Come on all those miles driven you must have a little more. :) I watched IMMORTALPILOT's replay and I think he is using a close to stock setup judging by how little speed he can carry through some of the corners compared to 2nd. :crazy:

Reset to default. And put move Final Gear first I think.

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. I totally agee with these F1 TT's Guess I'm not young enough for that kind of drivin'

KB I gotta say that you add a lot to this community. You share your set-ups, can give your opinion while respecting differing positions (plays well with others) You seem like a genuinely nice guy. The only thing I can fault you for is your love of Roudy! ;-) I even agree that that man has ungodly skills, and on a short run restart to the finish he's about the best around... But I'm loyal to the 14!

Haha.I got the red light three times before I even started the clock!.I barely get buckled in and I'm forced to start over. I know the course as well as anyone what with five 24hr A-spec races and a few dozen or more 4hr races there and I still can't put in a clean lap on those tires...:banghead: :crazy:

Golded both TTs last night. I thought the Nurb trial would be a pain but it wasn't, really. Used the NSX-R prototype, had several false starts while I figured out just how early I had to hit the brakes for turn 1 on the SH tires. Then got into a lap, had it go red because of an off around Adenauer-Forst but continued so I could get a sense of how the car needed to be driven. Answered was "8/10th" compared to how I'd approach the 'Ring even on Sport Softs -- you really can't fling the car around or ask a lot of it on corner entry. Second lap I played it very safe and conservative into every corner and managed a 9:51. Called it a day for that trial.

I'd done the Monaco trial first because the F2007 is absolutely my favorite car in the game and Monaco is one of my favorite tracks -- I love banging around it in a kart and also enjoyed attacking it in a TVR Tamora in the unfortunately defunct Brit Lites seasonal. For the first attempt I backed down the HP to make the PP limit. Got red the first lap because of wall contact in the hairpin but got gold the second lap with a time good for a ranking in the 1400s. Then I dropped the top-speed tranny setting to the minimum and took a lot off my first-run time. Opted to start playing with the aero and with it maxed front and rear managed a time in the low 1:15s that was good when I posted it for #774 on the scoreboard. That's pretty darn good for me because my usual gold-it-and-take-the-swag approach to TTs rarely yields anything north of the 20,000s. I do feel there's more time to shave off, probably in the middle sector and most likely with some work on chassis settings, which I didn't play with at all last night. But with max aero and min tranny the F2007 is glorious through the Casino complex and the Swimming Pool area. In those places it's all about throttle control and the occasional oh-so-light touch on the brakes.

Mine is 587BHP / 1264Kg / 600PP with the same amount of wing. What did I get wrong?

I just bought a new R8 4.2 and I got to 598BHP-have a play around with different performance part combinations.
Mine(608BHP car) has 500miles on it so that must be giving me the extra horses :)

How can you have that high numbers for your gears?
1st gear is 4970 max for me 2nd is lower as your etc.

With the car I just bought,not sure exactly,but set final all the way to the right,max speed all the way to the left.
Set final drive to given,then set max speed to 193mph/310kmh.
Set individual ratios to suit.
Set final drive to desired speed you want.

Like I said im not 100% sure but I had a play around and could get the exact same ratios in about 3mins-and I dont really know what I'm doing :)

P.S anybody got a tune for the monaco tt or the nsx-r(b*tch car)-be much appreciated :)

Anyone ask IMMORTALPILOT for his tune??
Maybe he would like to share :D?
Superb lap! :bowdown:

Thanks-No doubt you will Private-you're way quicker than me :)

I dunno dude, Im pretty bad really.
The TT's I do well in I do 50-100 laps to learn the combo. If I really enjoy it, maybe even more

You have beaten me on the other Nordschleife TT's.
Nordschleife is a great track to judge a drivers real talent.

It takes great talent and nerves of steel to put in the fast lap.
I'll try my best to catch you though:scared: 👍

Just watched my cat walk across the floor and he looked like he was going 100mph, lol..
:lol:

For Monaco I have adjusted the overall gearing so that the F2007's top speed is 176 mph, I use full downforce and reduce the engine power until I get to the PP limit, the brake balance is 6:9 and the spring rate is 16.5 on the front and 17.5 on the rear. Every other setting on the car is the same as when you get it new.

Thanks for that Peasantslayer.
Ive just had a go in the F10-it seems a bit more noob(me)friendly-brought my time down from a 16 to a 13.
I've had a few beers so I'll leave it for now but I reckon I can(just)get on the top 250 board.

I slammed the gearing right down and full downforce-haven't played with the spring rates or B/B yet.
This combo seems like its gonna reward practice(warp factor nine Mr Sulu :))

sorry kaiser-i saw that there might be an issue with the layout of the toe and camber values.
see op and it shows the tune with uprated values.

Ok, ok, Even I am trying to find the way.... Thank you very much¡¡

I'm stuck at a 1:12.8 on monaco. I've been trying for hours to improve but I can't go farther than the hairpin without the lap going red. :banghead: :(

No problem, I used the F10 at first then realised if IMMORTALPILOT is using the F2007 then that's probably the best thing for the job. I'm sure that once you sober up you will easily get into the top 250. :)

You've only just got the wheel, you'll get there doodle. I've got TCS on 1 and that has made things easier and as I said in an eariler post when your in the hairpins brake lightly and release smoothly while turning to get the back end around.

Well thanks randoloid, appreciate the compliment. I do what I can. As far as KB, I understand. Not everyone can be a fan of NASCAR's "bad boy", lol. I like Stewart also, he's my second along with Edwards. Again, thanks for the compliment, really appreciate it.
