You speak better English than some native-English speakers. Don't worry about it, and thanks for all the info guys :).
Not to mention TVR&Ferarri_fan. Oh, sorry, off topic...

Great updates guys..keep it up! đź‘Ť

It is really good to be able to set the race regulation to " Hard " mode in the option menu. I found myself race so differently compare to GT4. In hard mode, if the tire touch even a little bit of the grass, you get 10 sec penalty.
If you hit the AI or AI hit you, you get 10 sec penity. This might sounds frustrated at first, but it is actually so good. You have ride with lots of patience and find a really good moment to pass the AI. And the end result is a much more better race. In GT4, you are mostly guaranteed to win the race once you pass the lead position car. You can late brake and just block the AI from passing you. In TT, the speed you carring after passing the AI is so important that you try get away from AI. I don't know how to explain this feeling, but I think it is closer to the real world race. Following so close to AI but not hit him is so exciting. It took lots of skill and lots of control.đź‘Ť

Sweet. So, the AI is alot better than expected? How many opponents are there?

I want to be able to simulate bikes you will see out on the streets and on race tracks. They race Turbo bikes. And many people use Nitrous and build motors on bikes.
000_0840.jpg

This is TT1. Lets be patient and let them get it right with bikes off the showroom floor and maybe bikes that trace in real sanctioned events. Not street racing.
I know you can pur a turbo on you Hayubusa but the only place your racing that is on the street or a drag strip event.
TT2 we can expect more, TT3 even more.....etc... :dopey:

Update:

-Considerable frame-rate drop with four player fields. It will be quite a job to make the PAL version acceptable.
-Unlocked the Ending Movie.
-SCEE listed in credits.
-Haga is listed in the special thanks section.
-Unlocked the 8 hour championship.
-No eight hour enduro.:embarrassed:

thanks for all your updates guys! BTW when the tire wear option is set to maximum, does that compromise handling in the sense that the tires don't stick like glue anymore? Oh yeah, gamespot.com says the release date is Feb. 28th. Think they mean PAL but I'm afraid they are a bit too optimistic...:guilty:

Hey Onno, the covert traction control continues to intervene despite the condition of the tyre. The TC also murders engine power when going over bumps etc.

Update:

-Road (non RM) bikes can only go up against one opponent.:(
-You can choose a racing number for RM prize bikes.
-You can earn a number 1 racing plate for RM bikes (I stick with 77) ;)
-The can changes appearance when you choose a sports exhaust (sometimes carbon)
-The Suzuka 8 hour bikes are a central part of the Game Status screen (I’ve got 3 of 5)
- You can select the motard riding form for the sports bikes. (funny)
- Motard helmets available

Gear so far:

Arai
Simpson
Agv ;)
Bell
Shoei

Ku****ani (heh swear filter)
RS Taichi
Alpinestars
Spidi ;)
Lewis Leathers
XPD
Vanson Leathers
Polyphony stuff (camo pants etc)

What about the AI. Good or not?

The AI is unremarkable. However, most races begin with a rolling start, and the AI bikes spread out. This feature beats the tiresome clumping packs in GT4. Oh, bike collision physics are extremely soft and forgiving.

Samberto, I can't help but think, judging from some of your recent posts, that you may be a little disappointed with Tourist Trophy. Is this so? Maybe everyone's expectations were a little too high, although having TC sucks big time!

Hey SS, Tourist Trophy is a fine game; though imagine if you could only play GT4 with soft racing tyres and ASM/TCS firmly in place. IÂ’m not a sim nazi, though the PAL version will need to provide lower grip tyres and the ability to do away with the power/fun sapping TC for me to choose to play it over GT4.

GTÂ’s hot sister or poor cousin? Perhaps a bit of both.

I agree with you. I don't know if PD will have time to rectify these kinds of things before the North American release, unfortunately. Hey, if PD does for TT what it did for GT4, maybe there will be a Korean version released with more bikes and bug fixes. Maybe.... maybe...

question - are you able to adjust style points on the fly? or, in the 1L class bikes, get it stoped and into the corner then pick it up and power slide out? im guessing thats a no with tc sounding like it has more controll over the throttle than you do?

Samberto
The invisible traction control system is highly concerning, as bikes invariably bog-down from a standing start, and you canÂ’t cause bikes to break traction mid corner (despite the most extreme provocation.)

That well and truly sucks. Another pretty moto game with ugly physics.

To make things worse, Namco seems to be delaying release of MotoGP4 in the USA into infinity.

Although we dont have damage in TT, we can set the race rule in the option menu to " Hard". If you go out of the track, you will get 10 sec penaty. This will make us to ride with more control.
This option also affects the licences. If it's on, a contact, even very weak, is disqualifying. No tolerance.

That's a very good point.

You know this is even harder when you are so underpower in a race.

Currently I am taking my TZR250 SPR 95' which is 40ps to the "under 750CC" street race. The AI is riding Ninja ZX-6R 05' which is arround 130 ps. I managed to win the 1st and 3rd race one this division.:) However, the 2nd race on Suzuka West is giving me some problem now. The " Restricted rule" does not seem to apply on AI at all. I got 10 sec penalty by just touching a little bit of grass. But on the first hard right hairpin, the AI did ride on grass with no problem!!! :ouch: I still can be faster in the corner, however on the straight, he keep passing me with the speed at lease 50km faster and hit me
a little bit. Then I got 10 sec penaty again!!!!! :indiff:

Continue from my last post...........

My little TZR250 finally did it !!!:sly:

This time the AI ride the GSX-R600, and he is on the grass again

0401s8jy.jpg

We were so close to each other so many times during the race.

0403s9ag.jpg

I am so afraid that he will hit me, which then I will get 10 sec penalty.
I reduced the speed on purpose here, because I know he is going to cut my line.

0405s1sx.jpg

I am still faster in the conner, but he is right on my tail all the time. Good thing is there is no contact this time.:)

0406s1zs.jpg

I have constantly check where he is. If he is from the left, I will go to the right and let he pass.

0410s6lz.jpg

Without making any mistakes until the end, I finally win the AI by 1.304 sec.

0411s9vb.jpg

To me, this is such a good race. Although this " restricted Qualify " rule is really not fair to the human player, and I have to try very hard to make it a clean race. I still like it. It really train you to be a more precised rider.

Sorry to put so much photos on this thread, I really need these pics just to explain things here. I will put photos in the general photo thread next time.:)

So the AI is still bad GT4 like!:indiff:

But great detail on the Bike!đź‘Ť

I think the AI is a little bit better than GT4.

AI actuallly ride quite smooth in TT. In GT4, I feel the AI is like driving with a non-analog controller. GT4 AI brake too hard and accerate too hard, the AI in TT has better throttle control in the acceration department. He know to tap on the gas just a little bit and make his way through the conner. He even know how to use the rear brake and the gas at the same time to ruduce the radius he travel and still keep the RPM high.

AI did try to avoid me at all cost. The reason he still bump me sometimes here is because he is on a 600 and I am on a 250 which is too underpower compared to him. He is using street tires and the braking takes a bit time. When he bump me, he did not bump me directly. He is like scratch me on the side a little bit. AI is actually doing a good job here considering the power of PS2.

AI is good, human are just better. Besides human make mistakes as well. I can not imagine what kind of world would be like, if someday the AI is so smarter than us.

Hey, nice pictures!

How's the slipstream? Exaggerated or real?

Maybe Samberto can answer this one.

I only had a ninja ZX6 94' eight years ago and just ride for fun. Never been ridding on a real track, I have no idea the slipsteam would be like in the real world.

The slip streaming is seemingly quite subtle (needs further investigation.) It’s of note that wind noise does not decrease when you're tucked up behind another rider. Very different from the exaggerated near silence in GT4.

Update:

TT mode time trial allows for the selection of an opponent from a list of unlocked vehicles. There are no class restrictions, and hence the racing can be tailored to your ability/whims! Wooo. This bodes well for GT titles in the future. (8 hour machines unavailable)

-Some circuits can only be used for single rider time trials.:(
Time spent on the Nürburgring is going to be solitary in nature.

Single bike courses.*
Nürburgring Nordschleife
El Capitan
Costa di Amalfi
Cote d' Azur
Seattle Circuit
Citta di Aria

*However, oddly enough, it appears that all circuits are available in the arcade two player mode. This includes previously off-limit GT courses such as Citta di Aria. Replays cannot be saved in 2P mode, and graphical quality is greatly diminished. At least the dodgy 3D folk have been removed.

That's all for now.

Hi guys, I just got my copy from HK and I'm having trouble finding a way to turn on the manual leaning + 'pro mode' (seperate braking). I can get manual leaning to work (lean forward/back) in arcade mode but not TT mode. My Chinese is only okay, but this is a little over my head and hard to read (too small on my TV). Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Guy

EDIT: Nvm, found the thread... it's 3am.

Ooh, man that's a definite blow to the gut...

I'm surprised Seattle has been kept at all, considering the track's "arcade" nature. IMO a road circuit layout that results in amounts of air should not be associated with a "simulator".
