TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Guys those are all great ideas.
We will switch it up. You guys come up with car and track combo for Saturday and I will be there to race.
Does not matter to me what you all wanna do.
Build it and they will come.
If its built before Wednesday we will practice Wednesday night.

Ill vote for Samba @ Rome

We could practice Wednesday, figure out how long a lap will take in warm ups, then calculate out how many laps would be 45 minutes worth of racing.

For those old enough to know this term, no "hot-boxing" in the Samba, lol.

someone needs to test before we pick the track to make sure it works. I'll try to spend some time tonight and run a few laps.

My initial thought was Madrid since we rarely get to run that track. I was also thinking for some fun to try the test gear test track. collisions on LOL.

But I'm game for Rome or whatever works. Will post more once i get a chance to test various tracks.

As for tuning, that's up to you Wins. Generally this is a non-tuning league, but there are some fun tunes for the samba bus out there. Maybe during July, you could sponsor Friday night tuning races at the Flex time slot if you wanted to try some tuning races. I'm sure guys would join in who were interested if you posted in the thread.
Obviously, if you can get some guys together and run races, anything is game for fun this month.

I can't promise anything...

Holy cow, hadn't thought of the old figure 8 race. Changing my vote to this! ( Of course tire wear would have to be off since we can't change them there, unless they won't wear that much in 45 minutes.)

i doubt we'd have tire wear issues in the samba on comforts...or any tire for that matter.

Edit:
you guys are fast, 2 posts while i was editing my other post
we must be aching to do some races.

scarecrow937
Samba vs fiat 500... use each car once, two 45 minute races. Tsukuba and autumn ring mini...

X1's @SSX

Kart racing on custom tracks..

Relay races (division 1 driver partnered with division 2/3 driver)

I'm just throwing out ideas...

Brilliant!! 👍

I vote samba at test gear track..if we get a lot of racers we may crash a lot in that figure 8. (Collisions on)

Looking forward to hopefully running some races this coming weekend. Having not driven anything since GT Academy came out so take it easy on me.

Yea right.
Hey whats up with knukken beating you in GTA. You must not have much seat time yet. lol

Yea it would be cool to run with some of those guys again.
Cholomite I will accept it tonight when I get on. You have all the lounges as friends correct?

Yeah, Knukken spent many hours getting that time. But, he's on vacation in Turkey right now for a couple weeks; so i doubt he'll be improving it.
Now's our chance!

On the other hand, i don't expect to ever catch allendk29 and his 2:17.xxx #3 in Portugal right now and qualifying for his region. That's one fast dude (borderline alien).

With my back issues this month, i've only spent a couple hours on the practice sections and maybe 10 laps total trying a full lap. Hopefully I can get some track time this weekend to see if i can learn the course.
My goal is to get into the 2:19's, but i have no idea if i will or not. I need to find braking markers on that track, because right now i'm just winging it! (and not very successfully i might add)

Great video mic.
I'm hoping to get more seat time myself this weekend. I think I have only done about 20 laps or so. I dont even know the track yet myself. Hopefully I can improve my time a bit.

i havent cracked the 2:19 yet, but still got a 2:20:208.

I believe if we are doing the sambabus race at top gear test track, shall we have official practice tonight? i believe mbobb said he will host? if not, i can always host for you guys. ill be there at 8 p.m Eastern Time in the Turtle Town Lounge.

Hopefully we can get some racers for the SambaBus on saturday night! because these SambaBus's are a lot of fun to drive around Top Gear

i did some testing for the laps as well last night, and if you're going to do a 30 minute race, it will be 15 laps i believe, and if you're going to do a 45 minute race, it will be 23 laps. average lap times were 2:03s (Clean, not cutting track) just to give you guys a general idea what you want to do with the laps.

Samba anywhere would be fun, but you should allow tuning, I have such a beastly set up for that car. Was winning against some noobs in Honda civics online the past few weeks in that car. Hell my gt5 profile pic is of myself drifting in the Samba bus. (Its really not easy to drift that thing lol)

I ran some laps last night. untuned the bus drives, well, like a bus:lol:

i was doing 2:04's around Top Gear Test Track, so your laps are probably right on. It's all about keeping your momentum going and figuring out how to get through Hammerhead.
On the other tracks i found it quite boring alone.
Rome I only had to lift my foot off pedal at one turn, so i'd skip that one.
Stick to the default comfort mediums.

other track options would be:
London Reverse
Tsukuba
Both of these seemed to be ok.

It seems like every other track either had too long of straights or they had hills and this 33 hp puppy trying to climb a hill is a test of patience.
With several on track racing it could be fun on any track though i'm sure (turn boost on low?).
I tried the snow tracks too :)
The Samba Bus has one of the best cockpit views I think.

Anyway, there you go, have fun with it tonight, i will do my best to be there.

I do agree these can be quite fun tuned, but then it changes the whole race and becomes who has the best tune, which is not the point of SPEC racing.

I bet you could flip one on Madrid Mini Reverse if you hit the curb right. :sly:

Thanks micantony! Now I can't decide wheather you guys want both races at top gear or 1 at top gear and 1 at another track.

Martin_ky- if you have time, could you post a picture of the samba bus around top gear, just like how psycho does his banners? Just to show that we are probably going to race sambas around top gear. If not, because youre busy, that's alright.

So now the question may be is how many laps do you guys prefer with the samba bus 15 (30 minutes) or 23 (45 minutes)?

We will talk about the amount of laps tonight.
This will be a tuning prohibited race, to keep with the spec racing theme.
We will be running comfort medium tires as suggested by mic.
Thanks to Ph1sher and mic for the testing.
I will be in Turtle Town Lounge at 8:00pm for some practice.
Come one come all for some fun in the Samba bus.
See you on track guys.

Can't make it. Storming here again. My Internet is out cause of it.
We've gotten 47" of rain so far this year in WNC which is 22" above normal for the first 6 months of the year. We got almost 6 inches over July 4th weekend.
Good thing is Turtles love water.
