TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Hey guys
Practice tonight at 8pm est if any of you are interested.
Should be fun, maybe a couple of short races.
In Turtle Town.

Exactly the same thing with me Martin.

For practice tonight I'm going to be an hour late, and will it be better if we do mock races as that is the best way to practice for Nascar?

On about a 50/50 chance I will make it for Saturday. Didn't realize the early time for the race. Have a few work things I have to do that will run into the early evening hours.

All depends on how quickly the staff picks up the new software.

Will notify if I can't make it.

Yea I think practice races is the way to go since the draft is going to play a big part in the race.

Just a reminder the race on saturday is going to start at 7pm est a little early I know, but its a long race and qualifing will be a little different because of the draft.

Also tires for this race are open so any tire you want to run. Only thing I ask is that the tires you qualify on is what you start the race with.
Thanks guys look forward to running with some of you tonight.:)

By myself I was running solid 43.2 for almost 15 laps. That 16 and 17 lap ate about a tenth but the tires let loose at the end of the 17th. Now trying to figure a pit strategie that will no doubt go out the window once the battles and spinning start. Should be interesting.

Remember tire selection is open for this race! :D

there is no draft when you run laps in practice mode is there Mbobb? so why would it affect qualifying?

Well I've seen opinions go both ways. I can say that I have'nt tested it so not sure. Has anyone tested this? If that is correct and there is no draft in freerun it would be quicker to do qualifing the same as we usually do.
Is anyone on the ps3 that can verify?

Not at a ps3, but i'm pretty sure it's still there in free-run.

learn something new every day. is that only with nascars? or at daytona specifically? i know the draft is disabled when not in race at most of the tracks i usually run.

I have a 41.3 set up that I'll post on here tonight. I havent been able to attend a race yet due to starting a new business. But I will not miss this week. I love good NASCAR racing.

You probably have a good set-up but no tunes aloud everything has to be default.

Also I can't come to practice tonight sorry, going to play soccer. :(

That 67 cougar is a nice car Ford. I'm not sure how much the mods visit these threads but try not to double or triple post. It doesn't bother me but some make a big deal out of it.

Edit: just go back and edit like this.

Great night of practice guys.
Thanks to everyone.
We also tested the draft in free-run and its not there so we will be using the normal qualifying format saturday.:)
Should be a very fun race.

Shoot. I can't make the race Saturday, I'm working all Saturday afternoon. Darn I really wanted to race my first race with the League.

i learned A LOT in practice last night guys. thanks for the laps, i needed them (having never raced Nascar before).

i thought the start options were cool, never seen the option to do side by side rolling starts! is that available in Nascar Only rooms/tracks? (must check my lounge)

main knowledge learned:
1. do not lose the draft of the lead pack (you will not be able to catch up unless maybe several cars behind get together in a pack to draft as well; a good idea to work together if you are behind!)
2. use RH tires. without tuning, i see no advantage to using any other compound (lap times were comparable between RS and RH ; RH lasted much longer). tires on these cars wear out ridiculously quick.
3. slow down to pit! i went too fast and it just had me do a drive through without stopping :(

looking forward to another practice Friday night to test some more. i need to figure out how to relax when gripping my wheel. i had the death grip on last night trying to run smooth :scared: and that will wear me out. :idea:maybe if i turn down force feedback for this race...:dopey:

Ya with Nascar you have to be really gentle when going into the turns or else your tires are going to get ruined easily. Also when going into pits you have to slow down or else you're down for :P

Did you have more fun than you thought it would be?
Its alot more challenging than most drivers think. Everyone thinks its as easy as driving in a circle, but it is way more difficult than that.
Very fun though.
