Anyone able to put videos on YouTube? Would love to see the lines you guys use for times like that. I'm stuck at 1:28.5
Here's some tips. From the start finish line - 1st corner don't downshift lower than 3rd. I don't brake for t2-t3 (the up hill left hander and the funky right hander with the bump) just make sure you come out of t2 wide, hit the inside of t3 and that will put you in a good position for the weird corners 4/5 esse. On t4/t5 esse, I cut it as hard left on t4 as possible, then swing it back for t5 while staying in 3rd gear all around corner t5. When coming out of turn t5, stay to the left in the tunnel and that sets you up for t6. T6 is your basic slow roller in 2nd or 3rd gear, but don't get on the gas to early. It's deceitful. Come out to early, and you lose time because you jump the hill. You want to come out just slightly on the rumble strip of t7 (a small left hander before the sweeping left series) t8 is the start of the sweeper, stay in 4th gear and experiment with braking or throttle control on how you want to approach this. If you brake to much, you'll lose to much time. If you brake not enough, you'll be on one of my rally events into the wall. I suggest barely tapping the brake, coasting a bit, then hammer on. If done correctly, you'll fly out of t9 (that had the mountain on the right) and carry a lot of speed for through t10 and 11 (t10 before the tunnel up hill and t11 is at the start of the tunnel) t12 is tricky. Don't cut in on the first curve, instead, ride out deep, tap the brake half way, downshift and slam the gas. It's kind of like a double curve and you want to hit the last patch of grass on the left instead of the first. That carries your speed to the final curve. Don't brake for this curve unless your tyres are worn. I hit the right rumble strip (stay in 5th gear) left half way off the gas and cut it hard left. Soon as I cut it hard left I'm back on the gas. You should be clipping the inside of the apex on the left, still holding hard left on your wheel/joystick, and you should hit the final outside rumble strip putting you with a lot of momentum to the finish line.
I hope this helps you more than hurts you. Practice different lines and braking/throttle techniques. Also, try different BB. I used a 1front and 3rear. What's fast for me might not be fast for you and vice versa. If I have time through the week, I'll be more than happy to hop on and show you how I run my lines, but I work 60-70 hours a week and have 3 kids, so time is tight.
I was going to PM this to Ohhbaby, but I thought it might help some other people out also.
