TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - TYRO Racing Series - BEGINNERS SERIES!

Mine was at 173hp with 200 miles on it last week. If you have more than 200 on it try doing an engine rebuild and see what you get.

No wonder you were pulling away from me last week. Has nothing to do with you being the better driver. ;)

Thanks. I'll actually just buy another car and break it in, then compare lap times. More hp isn't always better.

I'm curious what your Brake Bias was/is at. I'm running 0/10.

On autumn ring 4-2 (which was a mistake on my part.) Deep forest I think I am running 1-3, 1-4 or 2-4. I'd have to look when I got home. I'm pretty sure it's 1-3, but its subject to change once I get a new car broken into the correct hp and have a few laps to tweak it.
The reason why I don't run 0 up front is because under braking, the weight shifts to the front and if you have minimal front brake then you won't stop as cleanly as a 1 up front. Coming down t4 into t5, 1 has a little better braking on the dip and the turning us suitable enough for me.

Edit: I shouldn't be helping you. You're fast enough as it is :P

But I read something awhile back on these forums about BB and abs1. Whatever tires are losing grip, the abs diverts the the braking to other tires to help with grip loss on braking. So if you have 0-10, and are hard braking while turning, it would be locking your brakes up on the rear, diverting the traction lost to your front tires and causing under steer..

I don't know how true this is, though.

What times are you pulling on deep forest with 0/10?

Haven't ran a lap there yet, probably won't until just before the race.

It sure is a fun little track. I think it's gonna be a lot closer racing than last week. The track had a really good natural flow to it.

Once I do the break in again I should be going a little faster, I've also been shifting at the wrong point. I looked at the graph and I should have been shifting before the redline. Maybe I can get a 1:23.9 now that'd be scary.

Going to try and finish breaking it in. My best lap so far is 1:25:4X.

That's great, just keep it on the track in that last turn and you should do well. BTW, did you want to be in Division A (beginners) or Division 1 (experienced)? Thanks!

Ok. Big difference.

That 1:25 was a lucky lap too, I was doing consistent 1:26-27 lol

EDIT: I think its broken in, because now i'm getting 1:25 consistently :dunce:

Hey Turtle, what are the full specs? Not sure whether my car is legal or not lol

Hmm, Racing Hards will probably even it out. I wanna race in beginners for now, Just because i'm fast by myself, doesn't mean my racing performance itself will be good.

On racing softs, with 438 PP I ran an exploding 1:23:40 :embarrassed:

Completely stock. Racing hards. It should be 173 hp.

You can practice offline. On your home screen, go to your garage, find the golf, press triangle, select change car then back out to the home screen again, select practice, enter these settings depending on your vehicle:
Driving Assists: Driving Line, TCS, and ABS
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: On
Penalty: Weak
Mechanical Damage: Light
Grip Reduction: Low
Slipstream Strength: Strong
Visible Damage: Off
Boost: Off

Division 1 (experienced)
Driving Assists: ABS only
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption: On
Penalty: Weak
Mechanical Damage: Light
Grip Reduction: Real
Slipstream Strength: Weak
Visible Damage: Off
Boost: Off

Then make sure you're on deep forest, and away you go. You can also do one make races too, that will help you with passing and being in crowded turns.
I can't seem to adjust the penalty, slipstream strength or boost in the offline practice mode from my gtlife menu, either when I select the course or in the settings after the course loads.

Bran Flakes
Anyone else suffering from Michigan weather?

Well I'm suffering Here in Minnesota, were getting hit by another snow storm! And its April???

It's at 168 hp and with Hards, I'm getting 1:28, definitely made a big difference lol

Change the oil in your car, run 200 miles on it, change oil again and your lap times should improve slightly.

Yes, but today is my birthday and the family will probably want me off the PS3 lol

Happy birthday!

I just copied and pasted that from the main page. Boost is to allow other drivers to catch up. Slipstream is for cars in draft. The Penalty system in offline is already set to weak I think. If the timer up top turns red, you've triggered the penalty.

It was mid 80s here today. My wife loves cold weather and snow. I love spring and summer.

I'd like to join.

Hey DanishGambit, here's what you need to do. Thanks!

How to join the Turtle Racing League - TYRO Racing Series

Step 1: Post your request to join along with your PSN ID in this thread. Also choose and include an unused (refer to drivers list) car and wheel color combination and car number. When you join as a beginner you will automatically be signed up for the Turtle Racing League - Enduro Racing Series Division A.

Step 2: Accept the friend requests you are sent which will include our TURTLE_Town lounge that is to be used for practice, testing, free run, or casual pick up races. We race in private lounges not public lobbies. To join the lounge click on the COMMUNITY tab which is below GTLIFE and PROFILE on the GT Home Page and select the appropriate Turtle account, then click on the Coffee Cup, then click join.

Step 3: Purchase and break in your car(s) then change the oil. Do not tune them in any way. Races are "Tuning Prohibited" however, the "Tuning Prohibited" filter allows for changing brake balance, and engine limiter.

Step 4: Division A - join the TURTLE_DivisionA lounge on Saturday night at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific. Division 1 - join the TURTLE_Division1 lounge on Saturday night at 8pm Eastern / 5pm Pacific
