Tyre Pressure - A must for GT6?

If we are going to add tire (tyre) pressure to the games, we also should add nails to the road etc...

because what's the purpose of knowing the pressure if it doesn't go flat ?

This is one variable i dont really care to have added to it...

i see many people in the streets not paying attention to their car's tire pressure... it's sad... why would people in games care for that ?

If it's already a burden for some people in real life, why add to the games...
... but then again you will tell me this could be true for other aspects of the game too...

bottom line, i dont care to have this pressure thing added...

If it's in, great
if it's not, then i got one less thing to worry about.

Meh!.

Just because you don't know how it works, doesn't mean it isn't a vital component of making a car go fast.

I'm 80% sure this will be in GT6, after all, they did say they were working extensively with a tyre company, (forgot which one) to greatly improve tyre physics, I'm sure pressure will be an important feature, I just wonder if we'll run over sharp things and get flat tyres every now and then... probably not, that would also be annoying

From what I've seen from the videos, there have been no dramatic changes to how tyres work! Suspension seems to work better but the tyres slip just like in gt5! So, chances are - no tyre pressure again!

How exactly have you determined this?

they want work more about the tire wear, this is another important point.

Tire pressure adjustments are definitely something that needs to be in the game for it to be anything approaching a sim. We'd have to have some sort of system that allows us to measure wear and temperature after a test session or race to allow us to tune our tires, but that shouldn't be particularly hard to implement compared to the actual dynamics of tire tuning.

The mention of "hardcore mode" in a quote earlier is interesting. I'd love to see GT6 have a "sim" mode, with testing and qualifying for every race in addition to the lack of assists and presence of tuning options.

Would be awesome for drifters, dragers and people who like to make their car amazing in handling at a track. Altough making this perfect will take quite some effort for Kaz and PD.

F1 tyre failures in yesterdays British race revelled an interesting comment.
"All teams were using 19 psi front and back. Pirelli, on the basis of safety, suggested a 2 psi increase to 21 psi for all teams."

 I would only imagine GT would not make your tyres puncture or tear up if you mis-judge tyre pressure...but would be kinda funny! :D

I have watched all gt6 videos that came out so far! Not even a hint for tyre pressure :( and nothing can be seen from the settings! I'm afraid it's going to be another GT without it.. Weep weep

I can only see tire pressures having any effect if GT6 had a whole new physics model that included:

  • variable track temperature
  • fluctuations in tire temperature through cornering, suspension set ups etc.
  • Improved tire depredation model, GT5 is a bit dodgy as it is, but for tire pressures to have worth, they need to effect degradation, as well as handling.
  • Adjustments dialled in during a pit stop
  • effect of tire contact patch

otherwise a fear it will be just a more finite adjustment of the suspension rate...

In Forza adjusting 1 or 2 psi......you will notice a difference in grip handling once the tires warm up. Tire pressure settings is a big factor for those who drift a lot too. So yes it's nice to have this feature.

+1 as well as in LFS, rfactor, iRacing, netkar pro, etc etc etc..! Is there any other sim title except GT that doesnt include tyre pressure adjustments? I can't think of any! :ouch:

Tyre pressure options would be great...... I'll just be careful not to use Pirelli's at Silverstone.... ;)

It does? How does it affect the driving? GT doesn't have real tyre temperatures or wear, so I'm not seeing how it would interact with anything you feel.

It only makes much difference on time change tracks, because non-time change it will just remain at a standard temp value.

On time change tracks, at night, the temperature of the "world" goes down, and so the track is cooler. Generally just slightly less grip at night, more at mid-day.

exactly the tires are one of the most crucial parts of the car, so we absolutely need to have tire pressure adjustments in GT6. Like you said everyone has it so their really isnt an excuse for GT6 to not have it.
