Jesus that's bad, the worst possible start for Delia....

I didn't expect them to get through but I certainly thought they'd get a win at Celtic Park. 6-1 is just embarrassing.

The match was played at Murrayfield since CP is still recovering from the Commonwealth Games.

Not that it made a difference:yuck:

Ah right. Also, Deila looks pretty stupid now as I remember him saying a few weeks back that Celtic were too good for the qualifiers.

Sorry, that's not very...

... crap, I just can't help it. Oh well, that's a tough break for

Sorry, I'll come back when I've regained my

So Celtic are reinstated to the Champions League and progress to the next round for some more humiliation

Who cares - Celtic stand to gain at least an extra £10 million if they make it past Maribor!

Celtic there demonstrating what happens when you don't have a domestic rival.

I'm not sure that, if I were a Celtic fan, I'd want to be reinstated. Losing 8-1 on aggregate to another qualifier does not bode well.

This is incredible. Don't mess this up Celtic.

Why does everyone try and cheat us?

Celtic deserved to go through ahead of Legia Warsaw - they clearly have the better team. Of lawyers.

Nah, it's because UEFA actually has the guts to reverse a score after a slight, not unlike the NFL where it took 12 men on the field to occasionally defeat a team.

Celtic are a bit lucky there! They have got a lot of work to do now...

Here is the draw for the Play-Offs, whoever wins these will qualify for the group stage

Champions Route

Maribor v Celtic
Salzborg v Malmo
Aalborg v Apoel
Steaua Bucharest v Ludgorets
Slovan Bratislava v Bate Borisov

League Route

Besiktas v Arsenal
Standard Liege v Zenit St Petersburg
Copenhagen v Bayer Leverkusen
Lille v Porto
Napoli v Athletic Bilbao

The funny part is that the guy literally played 2 minutes of the tie - the last two minutes of the second leg of the match, after all of the goals had already been scored. And he was only banned from the match because he wasn't registered in the 20+ man squad for Legia's 2 legs against St. Patrick's in the previous round.

And when I say "funny" I mean "mind-blowingly ridiculous that an 8-1 aggregate defeat can be overturned on the basis of an administrative error that had no effect on the match itself".

Every time I run the situation through in my head it just gets more insane.

Can't believe we actually have a shot at qualifying.

Rules are rules. Slip up from Warsaw has cost them; hope other teams don't balls up their registrations in future.

Arsenal get another mad supported turkish team, shouldn't bee too much difficulty though.

Can not believe the list of things that added up to Celtic qualifying for the next round. Not only did the player only play for 2 minutes, but it was also in relation to a previous match. Also Legia were not disqualified just to forfeit the match, which then put it to evens and put Celtic through on away goals. From 6-1 to away goal qualifying from a guy player for 2 minutes. Crazy.

Doesn't matter. Legia fielded a player who was ineligible, regardless of his impact on the game.

Plus, it wasn't as though Legia were automatically disqualified. They were given a 0-3 default which just happened to put them out. Coincidence? Yes. 3-0 is the standard forfeit scoreline. It's rare, but it has happened in the past.

Sudan beat Zambia 2-0 in a Group D tie in Khartoum on 2 June but football's world governing body FIFA awarded Zambia a 3-0 win by default after ruling that Saif Ali, who scored the second goal, should have been suspended for accumulating yellow cards in previous competitive matches

In the 2004 qualifying [San Marino Under-21s] lost 6–0 to Sweden but UEFA later awarded the match as a 3–0 forfeit win to San Marino due to Sweden including suspended players in their squad
