Doesn't matter. Legia fielded a player who was ineligible, regardless of his impact on the game.

Plus, it wasn't as though Legia were automatically disqualified. They were given a 0-3 default which just happened to put them out. Coincidence? Yes. 3-0 is the standard forfeit scoreline. It's rare, but it has happened in the past.
I think that Legia would have been put out regardless by UEFA had aggregate been in their favor. Like you said, Legia fielded an ineligible player, had a minimum impact on the game had the original score stood, but the point remains that Legia did not deserve to move forward in the Champions League after their unintended stunt. The scoring just happened to work out in Celtic's favor before any additional penalties would have to be assessed.

No chance, they have realised they have made a stupid mistake and trying to save face...

I would be surprised if they were even allowed to do this - surely if a club is disqualified, that's it? At the very least, they would need to get UEFA's approval and/or have their disqualification officially rescinded or something before they can go ahead and arrange their own qualifying match?

Celtic may not take too kindly to their reputation as a honourable club being used against them like this - it's not their fault this has happened, but Legia are trying to say that, if Celtic really are an honourable club, they would agree to a replay - I think that is pretty low, personally. Not only is it most likely not up to Celtic anyway, but Legia should not be putting them in the position where it might appear that Celtic are being 'bad sports' when infact they are simply benefitting from a screw-up bigger than King Kong's first dump of the day.

Are Barcelona still banned from making transfers?

Someone mentioned that before when they signed Suarez. How is a team that's banned from making transfers allowed to buy a player who's banned from playing or doing anything football related?

They have appealed against the ban and while the appeal is ongoing, they can still make transfers.

So they conveniently appealed during the transfer window. Oh no, what a coincidence that happened. If nobody is actually going to enforce these rules and make an example out of someone then there is no point having them cause nobody is going to care about it.

That is just embarrassing.

They are acting like it's Celtic's fault all this has happened. Maybe if they ran themselves like a professional club they wouldn't be in this situation.

When you break the rules punishments happen. Just because the punishment turns out to be larger than expected doesn't make it okay to start flinging 🤬, it was still a silly thing to do on their end.

Legia Warsaw have appealed to UEFA about Celtic being reinstated, they have now learned that if your not happy about something then you appeal...not write stupid letters to other clubs....

Real Madrid win the Super Cup after beating Sevilla 2-0, Ronaldo getting both goals..

No surprise there, hopefully they will stop whinging now and just get on with it..

Nah, it'll probably keep going on. Some team from the first division are also going on about it quite a bit.

Some team from the Scottish first div or Poland's first div?...

Well didn't they say they would take it to the court of arbitration for sport if UEFA rejected their appeal? It's not finished just yet.

Besiktas v Arsenal in the qualifying round tonight with Maribor v Celtic tomorrow night, Besiktas will be a tough test tonight, especially as its away!

Celtic with a positive result last night. Oh boy, Parkhead is gonna be jumping next week.

59,000 tickets sold apparently. Big performance needed, take a stroke of insane luck, and make it happen.

Don't feck this up Delia.
