Now comes the hard part. :(
At least the 'Champions' route looks alot easier than the 'League' route...

Are seeded teams drawn against unseeded teams? If so, Celtic should have a relatively easy game.

They are indeed. 👍

Astana, Skenderbeu, Malmo, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Partizan Belgrade are our possible rivals.

Seeing that the separate Europa League thread hardly sparks any interest, maybe this thread could serve that purpose too.

Anyhew.

The draw for the EL starts now.

OMG DENIS U TULIP NOBODY CARE S ABOUT THE YRUOPA LEAGE

Until your own team is in it, of course.

I literally still don't care even when Spurs are playing tbh.

I might do this season though since the Top 4 are spending billions on players and Spurs have no real chance unless someone :censored:s up.

Bruges vs Man U!

We probably don't stand much of a chance but it's always nice to play at old trafford, and at home we can make things difficult for anybody.

Here is the draw in full..

Astana v APOEL
Skenderbeu v Dinamo Zagreb
Celtic v Malmo
Basel v Maccabi Tel-Aviv
BATE Borisov v Partizan Belgrade
Lazio v Bayer Leverkusen
Manchester United v Club Brugge
Sporting Lisbon v CSKA Moscow
Rapid Vienna v Shakhtar Donetsk
Valencia v Monaco

Some big ties there...

Cracker of a tie for Bruges - but methinks you guys will be enjoying Europa League football this season.

That said, I would chuckle enormously if Bruges knocked out Man U - and LvG would probably be handed his P45.

Good tie for Celtic, but by no means a gimme... it will probably be a tight tie, but I think Celtic will go through.

That's the good thing, no pressure on us now as frankly the EL is where we belong. Our best players are worth less than 10 million euros so go figure.

Our coach however can be regarded as a master tactician, so if we do not get humiliated in England, we might have a chance in the return at Jan Breydel.

There's actually a nice anekdote about Van Gaal from when he was playing for Antwerp, he came up to his coach which was Guy Thys at the time, and said "Look coach, just look what i can do with a ball!", and Guy responded "Yes Louis but the problem is that you never have it" :D

I thought that who ever won the Europa League would get a place in next years Champions League?
All I could find on my search for information on my thought. LINK
A little bit of an incentive if your a Spurs/Liverpool or Saints fan since its a way into the competition without getting into the top 4 of there respective leagues.

The best part about the last time a Scottish team(rest their soul) played Malmo was a certain video titled 'Rangers Lose to Malmo'...I can't link it due to it being a bit NSFW.

So the Play-Off round starts tomorrow night and Wednesday night, Man United v Brugge is on BT tomorrow from 7pm, the Celtic-Malmo game is on Wednesday same time same channel...

Massive game tonight, a bit nervous as our opponents are somewhat unknown and we haven't exactly set the world alight yet this season, Old Trafford will be rocking, Come On United!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bit of a Rocky start with an own goal but Memphis is having a great game. Very composed first goal.

Crucial from Fellaini, gives us breathing room. Superb from Memphis, this'll be the start of something for sure.

Memphis has a cracker of a game. Hopefully he can keep that going and give us a promising display in the league against Newcastle.

Shame on you, shame on youuuu
Proud of our supporters, it sounded like a home game to me.

For a team of limited means we made it a hard game for Manchester. That 3rd goal in the last minute was an absolute bummer.

So desperately wanted Bayer Leverkusen to win but it wasn't to be. Keita literally ripping the defence apart for pace. Hopefully at the Bayarena it will be a different story.

Bad start but recovered very well and a good performance overall, as for Depay, well I haven't been this excited for a young talent at United since Ronaldo, he was just brilliant tonight...

Him and Big Fella saved your behinds due to individual class. Apart from that there were way too much bad passes which we could intercept, and with a bit of luck Oulare made the 2-2 if it weren't for that fault. Hopefully we can draw or score a surprise win @ Jan Breydel :)

Defence were an absolute shambles. 👎 Can really see us going out now.

In for a tough night next week! ^
We could have been 4-0 up in the first half! Total lack of concentration has cost us dearly, thats 3 games in a row we have conceded 2 goals in the last 30 mins of games.
