Bayer proceed after beating Lazio 3-0 to make it 3-1 on aggregate. :) 👍

FC Astana / CSKA Moscow / BATE are through also.

Good win but opponents were terrible, Rooney went from no goals in 10 to being our top goal-scorer this season in just 90 minutes, will do wonders for his confidence, draw is at 4.30pm BST tomorrow..

Thats what you get having to play with substitutes at the back. Engels injured and Mechele suspended. Glad we relaunched Rooney though haha.

I am still confused about the disallowed goal in the Celtic game.

Duarte had such a shocking game.

Great turnaround by Moscow, fair play. 3-1 down on aggregate at half time to win 4-3.

Nice draw this year imo. Couple of groups where the expected 3rd place will qualify.

Most attractive group is group D I'd say, potentially three strong, evenly-matched clubs and potentially no dud team if 'gladbach can find form. Groups F and G seem to be forgone conclusions, but every other group has at least three teams that can realistically challenge for qualification. Should be a good group stage this year.

Sweet, City actually have a decent group this time. There's a much higher chance of them winning the group, although they have to be wary of Juventus (and 'Gladbach for that matter). Looks like Group H is the least attractive group. Zenit once again gets placed in the Group of Sleep....

Likewise, refs in the two games had aboslute howlers. I doubt Malmo will get more than 2 points from that group. We played awful both legs - should have disposed of them in the first game and paid the price of being toothless away from home.

Really? I don't really know how strong Lyon is now, but it looks to me like that group could have a tight three way squabble for the two qualification slots. Valencia and Zenit both have a propensity for allowing goals and making things difficult for themselves, so it could very well be an exciting group.

Group G looks most dull to me, no parity whatsoever. Chelsea will finish 1st, Porto 2nd, Kyiv 3rd, Maccabi Tel-Aviv the whipping boy. I expect this group to be completely devoid of drama.

I hope Juventus and Sevilla batter Man City so much a hole opens in space-time and dumps them back to the 1999 Division One play-off game vs Gillingham.

Group E is also going to be tight with Bayer & Roma likely to be battling it out in getting the second place spot after Barcelona.

I have done a Europa League thread in the last two years but someone else will need to do one once the group stage draw is done tomorrow as I'm in work..

Southampton lost to that Danish team 1-0 and are out and they were pretty dismal, Dortmund beat Odd 7-2 on the night and 11-5 on aggregate!!

Typical rag comment when Man U,er who practically get a bye to round of 16 with there group. :D
And I guess if the silly deal for De Bruyne comes off I guess we are making it even easier for your visit to last 16. (Silly deal meaning its a little pricey IMO.)

The Press reaction to yesterday’s Champions League draw seems pretty uniform – City have again been unlucky.

First games involving English teams are Man City v Juventus and PSV Eindhoven v Man United tomorrow night and Dinamo Zagreb v Arsenal and Chelsea v Maccabi Tel-Aviv Wednesday night, all games live on BT Sport with ITV getting the highlights show, I think its a tough start for all fours teams, Chelsea looks easiest on paper but Tel-Aviv would fancy their chances with the way Chelsea are going right now, other games include Roma v Barcelona..

Gotta love Irish TV, PSV-United is being shown over City-Juve.
Tomorrow, TSN in Canada are showing 5 matches (4 duds + Valencia-Zenit), but not Roma-Barca...

Edit: Vitolo wins two penalties in two minutes of play. Gameiro scored on the first emphatically, hit the bar on the second.

PSV are surprisingly good tonight, rediculously open game.

Hope Shaw recovers quickly, hate seeing young players being ravaged by injury. Always had sympathy for him, Carroll and Sturridge.

Fantastic strike Morata. 2-1 Juve.

Edit: LOL Konoplianka scores directly through a misdirected cross from near the corner flag. Howler from the 'gladback keeper.

Horrible night for United, Lost Shaw to a terrible leg break and we lost 2-1 in a game we really should've won...
