Did this thread die because my team is leading Group D after beating Rubin Kazan at home and Panathinaikos away?...

I'm happy!...

What a win for tottenham on Tuesday. It's funny because I met a random tottenham supporter on a plane last week who said that bale was terrible.

They really stepped up against Inter that night. And I think we have a couple of probable "Goal of the Year" nominees from Spurs during the course of that match. ;)

Maybe he meant Christian?

Nope, he said he just walks about the pitch without doing anything. When I said but he got a hat trick against Inter all he replied with was Defoe got 5 against wigan. WIGAN.

Inter was playing horribly that match. I was hoping for a back to back championship for them, but they aren't as impressive as last season. That 3-2 Tottenham game was a thriller though. Around the rest of the league Arsenal is looking great, as well as Bayern. I think Bayern are going to get further in the championship than Inter having played them for the cup last year. Also with Jose Maurinho's coaching, let alone the talent on the field, at Madrid they are a good bet this year. Also you have to look out for the usual heavy hitters Chelsea, Man. U, and Barca all looking good.

I'm just getting all my opinions out there. Enjoy!

Knockout Stage:

It seems as though Bayern, Chelsea, and Madrid have already won their group. Cool.

First time a Danish team progresses to the last 16 - GO COPENHAGEN!!!!11!!!

Madrid is looking near unbeatable. I predict a back-to-back UEFA Champions' League win for Mourinho. He's such a good coach. I can't wait to see what comes in the first knockout rounds.

Near Unbeatable?.. Did you watch El Clásico the other night?. Barca made a complete mess of Madrid. At some point in the second half, they had something like 75 passes with the Madrid players running around like headless chickens. Even my team didn't look that flabbergasted.

Complete draw for the knock-out stages:

FC Copenhagen v Chelsea

Marseille v Manchester United

Olympique Lyon v Real Madrid

Arsenal v Barcelona

Inter v FC Bayern Munich

Valencia v FC Schalke 04

AC Milan v Tottenham

Roma v FC Shakhtar Donetsk

I actually predicted Manchester United and Tottenham's opponents correctly. I had a feeling that Spurs would play the other team from Milan after playing against Inter in the group stage.

I don't think Internazionale is going to be able to perform against FC Bayern Munich this year. They have been off of last year's form since Benitez was coach, now it's Leonardo so we shall see. I still think Madrid is going to win. Maurinho is one hell of a coach. I can't to see the Arsenal v. Barcelona, AC Milan v. Tottenham, and Internazionale v. FC Bayern Munich games.

Well we deserved Barca after our carelessness .I really can't see us progressing on our current form .

As a Man United fan, I'm quite happy with CL draws. We could have draw either of Milan teams. I predict a late winner at Velodrome by super-sub Chicharito and a two-goal win at Old Trafford.

Who agrees Barcelona is currently one step ahead of everyone in respect to spectacle and performance? Nothing but final I reckon would be failure for them.

Barca is looking good, but I still think you have to look out for any team Mourinho is coaching. Either way I'm betting one of the La Liga teams is going home with the trophy. Inter has fallen off of form but it seems Leonardo is picking up the pieces from Benitez's short term as coach. I can't wait for the matches to begin.

I'd wait for the CL to begin, but yeah, anything less than winning the CL with ease, would be a failure. But i'd love to see that smile being wiped off those arrogant glory hunters that call themselves Barca fans.

^ Yes. Many, many people here in the states have jumped on the Barcelona bandwagon. I'm a huge Messi fan, but I don't consider myself a fan of Barcelona. I don't think much would make me happier than seeing them beaten aside from Internazionale or Madrid winning.

My predictions:

Roma - Shakhtar: Not sure anyone cares about this really. However, I think Shakhtar can go the distance and take down Roma. If they can beat Arsenal they can certainly take down at least a couple of the other group winners in the competition.

Milan - Tottenham: Milan to win at the San Siro, then Tottenham to get it to penalties at the Lane and ultimately lose because they are English.

Valencia - Schalke: Valencia have no good players left I know. Schalke have Germany's No.1 goalie, a nice attack and a solid defense. Schalke to coast through.

Inter - Bayern: Hey look, it's what happened when we finished last year. Inter, who did not deserve to get beaten by a team with only 3-4 'top' players, have a nearly full squad of stars. Bayern have some stars but Inter will very much get the better of them, particularly at the San Siro.

Lyon - Real Madrid: Lyon aren't particularly bad, they do have a great goalie and some good stars. Real Madrid have always been good, with a top-class goalie, a strong defence, a lovely midfield and...one and a half good forwards. But yeah, Real Madrid, will do very well to lose.

Arsenal - Barcelona: Arsenal have no good goalie. Barcelona have David Villa, Messi, Iniesta, Dani Alves and Xavi who could score a goal at any given moment. Arsenal, you're out.

Marseille - Man Utd: Marseille have...no one of note. Right, who do United have of any note? Let's see...Van der Sar, Evra, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Rooney, Giggs, Hernandez, Vidic, Nani, Scholes, and (from late February when he returns)...Valencia.

Copenhagen - Chelsea: See previous prediction only add even more lack of notable players towards Copenhagen and of course different Chelsea players.

Both Barca and Madrid are looking so much more out of sync than they did at the beginning of the season when both teams were absolutely dominant. Neither has been really dominant as of late.

Mid season fatigue? Transfers disrupting chemistry?

No chemistry disrupt for Madrid. Them picking up Adebayor gives them a little more depth. They have good subs already, but he is an awesome addition. I will be genuinely surprised if one of the La Liga teams doesn't go home with a UEFA CL win. Barcelona didn't really capitalize on the mid-season transfers. I don't think they needed to though. This time next week we will be talking about the first matches of the round of 16. I'm so anxious.

Roma - Shakhtar: Not sure anyone cares about this really. However, I think Shakhtar can go the distance and take down Roma. If they can beat Arsenal they can certainly take down at least a couple of the other group winners in the competition.

Well I don't care.:sly: I think there could be some cards and goals in this one, as to who will win I am not sure, I'll go with Roma just to be different.;)

Milan - Tottenham: Milan to win at the San Siro, then Tottenham to get it to penalties at the Lane and ultimately lose because they are English.

Another tough game to call, if it goes to penalties you'll be right, but it won't, I think Tottenham win this one.

Valencia - Schalke: Valencia have no good players left I know. Schalke have Germany's No.1 goalie, a nice attack and a solid defense. Schalke to coast through.

While it's true that Valencia's best players have left, they still posses a decent side. This looks another tough game to call but I fancy Valencia to grind out the result.

Inter - Bayern: Hey look, it's what happened when we finished last year. Inter, who did not deserve to get beaten by a team with only 3-4 'top' players, have a nearly full squad of stars. Bayern have some stars but Inter will very much get the better of them, particularly at the San Siro.

Inter have looked a shadow of their former self this year and don't look capable of repeating at all, this game, against a good Bayern team comes at a bad time for them, Bayern Munich to win for me.

Real Madrid haven't been playing all that great and they have a recent habit of losing in the Champions League to teams they shouldn't, that said I think they will finally deliver here, Real Madrid go through.

Arsenal - Barcelona: Arsenal have no good goalie. Barcelona have David Villa, Messi, Iniesta, Dani Alves and Xavi who could score a goal at any given moment. Arsenal, you're out.

Make no mistake about it, Arsenal got a tough draw. While Barca's form isn't what it was at the start of the season, they still posses plenty of match winners. I have Barca winning it all, but then again I did last year too and they didn't come up with the goods. Arsenal do have a chance, but you would have to be mad to pick against Barcelona here, Barcelona go through.

As a Man Utd fan I am always nervous against teams we should beat. Marseille have nothing to lose here, but Man Utd should be too strong for them. Manchester United advance.

Copenhagen - Chelsea: See previous prediction only add even more lack of notable players towards Copenhagen and of course different Chelsea players.

This should be the easiest game to predict. In getting this far Copenhagen have done really well and must be a decent team, that being said they have nowhere near the class Chelsea have. Chelsea win here easily.

Well Just days to go ,If Samir Nasri Plays we have every a slight chance Djourou and Kozzer have been brilliant so no problems defensivly Full backs Both clichy and Eboue (Sagna suspended)Will be vital .Wojiech looks like will be manning the Goal (at least it ain't Almunia ).We really should try to keep a clean sheet .We are very capable lets hope the players believe and the Loud Arsenal Fans Rock the Emirates for once .

C'MON ARSENAL

Crouch and Tottenham were looking great in the absence of Bale. They surprised me. Gattuso was being very unsporting, especially at the end when he got in a fight. The foul on Corluka by Flamini should've been a straight red card. He got lucky and Corluka didn't look very good coming back on to the field with crutches.
