:nervous: C'mon The Red and white Army .Various Gooners are Planning to sing Hands of Cesc Fabregas Tonight so keep an "eye" :sly: or an hear on it same tune as the We've got cesc Fabregas Chant.

I really wish we Win :D

I watched the Tottenham game. When did they get so good? Actually, it was pretty dreadfully boring besides that break by Lennon.

No surprise to see Non Gattuso being an arse, yet again. If you're going to pick on someone, Joe Jordan is not a good choice.

The Daily Record's headline was "Nutter - Rino headbutts Joe (and survives)"

OMG I can't believe it I actually cried with from the Win .I 🤬 Love this Team Wow What can I say Wenger grew some balls while Pep Forgot his .

That was a great second half by Arsenal!
I just hope they bring the same game to Camp Nou!

can't believe barca slip up like that.. it was unfortunate that the ref called messi's goal offside... i am confident we can win it big at camp nou.

gunners played a great second half and it has been a while since i have seen barca play well and still be threatened like that.

No it wasn't. He was offside.

Arsenal were looking good throughout the game, and they were unlucky to be behind at half-time. The Walcott-Fabregas-van Persie break was brilliant, and it would have been a spectacular goal... but the two they did get were fantastic too. Barca looked dangerous as usual, but their danger was amplified by some sloppy defending - although, Barca are hardly known for their defensive prowess either.

I think Barca will win through in the end, but if Arsenal can summon a performance like that in Barcelona, then they have a great chance. van Persie graciously acknowledged that the Arsenal supporters played a major role last night, and it was great to see Fabregas so fired up and urging the crowd to raise the volume... Arsenal will have to make do without their 12th man in Barcelona, though, and that could make a significant difference.

It was a great game to watch for the neutral, and the return leg should be a classic.

So is Messi's Goal Rightly disallowed ? I watched the Game in a Cafe and it was Pretty difficult to see ?

I predict a crush of Arsenal at Camp Nou. Pity because I'd like them to progress further but they fell on Barca.

You mean it was unfortunate the ref missed Archavin's hand ball? :sly:

AA23's Late Handball is clearly accidental and as for the Goal I saw it again and it is OFF side (barely) but actually it's offside twice The first time when Messi tried the initial Pass To Villa but Djourou Intercept it .

lol yea that hand ball was accidental..it did slow the ball down but not enough i would say... also considering how late into the game it was im sure the ref didnt wanna give a penalty... im not complaining much

barca have yet to win an away leg in knockout round of CL.. im confident we can do much better at camp nou

Roma - Shakhtar (which by the way means 'miner' in Ukrainian)
I can't see Roma winning by two goals in Donetsk (but I'd quite like to). Shaktar will progress.
Valencia - Schalke - both teams can win this, but I would bet on Germans. I don't follow their scores so I don't know how important will be the loss of Schmitz (red card).
Milan - Tottenham. Great performance by Tottenham on San Siro, even without Bale they managed to win (but you have to admit they were lucky). Second leg will be far from easy, I'd say it will be 1-1 or 2-2 on White Hart Lane.
Arsenal - Barcelona. Fantastic game to watch, great performance by Arsenal. Even though I'm Manchester United fan, I supported Gunners, because I'd prefer to play Arsenal than FCB. But, realistically, I still see Spaniards progressing, they will attack whole 90 minutes and I suspect that Arsenal's defense will not sustain it. Szczesny and Koscielny are gifted players (Szczesny's father is also a goalkeeper, he has won Polish Championship with four different clubs and reached CL quarterfinal in 1996) but I don't see them doing no mistakes for 90 minutes in front of 90,000 home fans.

Well tickets prices have been released today £176 for the neutral, £150 for ticket plus £26 admin charge, anyone think they're takng the urine?

If my club got to the CL Final, I would consider spending that for a ticket... that said, it would depend on whether or not I had any cash left over from my snowboarding holiday in Hell.

Well if mine did i'd sell my house to get there. It's actually cheaper to get tickets if you're a fan of one of the finalists:confused:

Copenhagen - Chelsea 0-2. I didn't watch the match but I've heard Chelsea played well (CL is the only trophy they can win this season). Unless something unbelievable happens at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea goes to quarterfinals.
Lyon - Real 1-1. This time Real didn't lose at Gerland and Lyon winning at Bernabeu or scoring more than 1 goal seems quite unlikely to me. Real will probably win comfortably and finally reach the quarterfinals.
Marseille - Manchester Utd 0-0. The game wasn't entertaining, both teams had too much to lose. Very disappointed with Michael Carrick and Darron Gibson, very pleased with Smalling. I'll probably go to Old Trafford to watch the second leg, I hope that United will win (and they probably will).
Inter - Bayern 0-1. Big mistake from Julio Cesar, it might be crucial. Inter can still go through, but it will be difficult.

I have a signed Hearts training football from like 8 years ago or something... You jealous? :D

I'm going to miss the match tonight as it's my sister's birthday
Will have to catch the highlights on ITV. Is the Spurs match tomorrow night? Would love to see them go through!

I've never been jealous of another man's balls.

Yep, and it's on normal telly too, fortunately...

Why do You allow Us to Play only to be 🤬 By a 🤬 Ref .What a Joke A disgrace really 👎

For once, I actually agree with the gunner fans whining. I have a hard time sympathizing with the gunners and their cries of bad officiating, because it's more than a bit like the boy who cried wolf, but this time I think there's at least a little bit to it. The ref was more than a little harsh with the red card and the penalty. We leave a lot up to these men, and sometimes they let us down. It's been happening more lately it seems, and especially the 2010 World Cup should be the wakeup call football needs to get with them times and embrace some technology.

All in all, Arsenal should feel a little hard done by, but I don't think they should have realistically expected to see off arguably the best club in the world in their own house with only a 1 goal cushion.

It's time for the Guns to stop making excuses and start making changes.

Well, if Van Persie wasn't sent off, Arsenal could actually stand a chance ... at taking a shot at Barcelona's goal :sly:
About Van Persie's red card, the second yellow was a weird decision, but referee is entitled to book someone for playing after whistle. I know, 95,000 fans made a roar and he might not hear it, but it was loud throughout whole game and other players had no problems.
Funny how Arsenal fans are silent after their team gets away with disallowed correct goal and handballs in penalty area and after their player, who was nearly invisible in the first half gets sent off correctly they shout that the ref robbed them of going through.
Shakhtar - Roma: Shakhtar win easily, although Roma started well and if Borriello scored from the penalty and Mexes wasn't sent off, they might have stood a chance.

Of course. It's not an excuse when it's the same for you as it is for everyone else. How are you supposed to:
almost get 🤬 up every match by officials.
If you get bad call that go in your favor as well? It's time for the Guns and their fans to stop hiding behind their tired old excuses and own up to the problems objective observers can see a mile away.

Their excuses are like a broken record:
We have a young team- Well, by age yes, but most of that team has as much or more experience as any other team these days. There's players who have been playing first team football for 3+ years, long enough that they're hardly young by experience.

We get bad calls- So does everyone else. Yes, there have been times when some harsh calls have gone against you. There have also been times when you've gotten so fortuitous calls for you, or not given against you. It happens to everyone. Look at Wolves this weekend. Very harsh officiating against them, and there are other examples too. It's part of the game, so either learn to live with it, or stop playing.

We have problems with injury- Yes, you do. Your reserves aren't what most would call deep. Buy more players who fit with the style that you wish to play. When half your bench is incapable of playing on a level you're happy with, it's nobody's problem but your own.

I myself am a United fan, but I don't hate Arsenal. The only club I actually truly dislike is Liverpool these days. I actually think Arsenal are playing the best looking football in England right now, in a lot of ways. They need a better goalkeeper, and they need someone with real leadership to marshal their attack. They also need to get rid of players who are incapable of keeping up the high quality and tempo that they like to play at, and look for replacements who can. With their aversion to spending money, this is obviously problematic. Let's hope someone with some sense is in charge of the summer transfers over at the Emirates.
