One-sided game today, good win and it's safe to say that United are going to Wembley. And I no longer wonder why is Neuer so desired by managers across the Europe.

I would say that too, but remember Football is unpredictable;)!

Jesus Christ almighty. Messi is something else. If Darren Bent did something similar in the premiership it wouldn't get half the recognition, but the fact it was against RM in the CL Semi takes it up a notch. Wow.

If Darren Bent did something similar I think the world would break...

I don't know ,I think Pepe deserves to bes sent off (I was dosing of to be honest ).Well What another Boring Classico , exactly Why English football is still miles better.
Another display of ref controversy (Typical Uefa off late)Any way a Question guys , When a Manager is sent off DOes he have the right to write down note and give it to his assistant I mean what is the point of the sending off if the answer is yes.Messi and Barcelona are really getting on my nerves So much talent but Spoil it by the endless dives and cheating .I saw better acting today then I will see when I see Fast five.I always say this match is way over rated but did any one actually 'ENJOY' it ?

So you admit Alves was acting, but think Pepe should have been sent off at the same time? If Dani hadn't rolled around on the ground for 10mins there would have been no red card. It's obvious the challenge wasn't that bad, but he called for a stretcher only to come back on 5mins later.

I'm mad. I likely lost the money I bet on Madrid to take the trophy.

If he's sent off then no, but he wasn't, he was sent to the stand, it's a different situation. He may or may not be banned for it, it depends on exactly what he said. The cheating that was going on was a disgrace but not surprising, with all that going on Pepe was always going to get a red card when he did that.

What did Pepe Expect with a Studds Up challenge that Alves will simply get up and Give him a No worries mate .Why did you bet on Real Though ?

So how do we knoe if Jose was sent off or to the stands (will he get a red card)?

its sad to see mourinho plays a home game with the intent to come out with a draw.. playing so many defenders and leaving the likes of kaka, benzema, higuain on the bench. and have the nerves to take off ozil (who imo is ****ing amazing and king for madrid this yr)

pepe tackle was dangerous.. sure alves over reacted but thats what football has come to these days.. or i should say anti football.. lining up 8 defenders on your 18yrd line is as pathetic as a dive in my opinion.

ne ways i thought i would share the pic AS published in madrid .. they changed it 20 minutes later to make it look less of a foul..

also a week or so ago man united vs city, scholes was red carded for similar foul...

I did enjoy it. A lot, actually. The first part, however, was sort of boring with the constant passes.

Also, I sort of agree with the following bolded part.

It doesn't matter if you're a Barca fan or Madrid, it's pure logic that if Pepe foot would have hit D.Alves, he would have been HIGHLY INJURED, it's really logic no matter how much you`d wish this statement to be false.

However, I think it didn't deserve a red card.

I laugh at some of his/her reasoning, though.

Pepe has his thing for fouls but this wasn't the case, he didn't deserve a red card for this thing since it's clear and logic that it didn't hit Alves leg.

I really hope Alves will be badly injured in a game and will stop playing football, he deserves to fake that.

Pepe shouldn't even play football anymore, to be honest, after the 2009 Getafe incident.

To be honest, a lot of things in football should be changed, but according to some people, those things are what make the game interesting.

EDIT: Just found out Manchester Utd. defeated Schalke. Go, Devils! :D

The mind of the Messiah goes a thousand runs, even more than the worrying pace when in possession of the ball. In the first goal, he deliberately sent the ball between the legs of Casillas. The second goal, if you noticed, was the only case in the entire match, in which there was space created diagonally at the rear of Real. And he got them.

Others are physically doped. The Messiah has dope into the brain, so he cannot be stopped even with anti-tank artillery.

The poor match, with the poor conduct (of both teams) was obviously provoked by the hostile build-up to the game. I don't think it's a controversial idea that Mourinho (more than anyone else) did the best he could to create a "war".

As a consequence, the game was dreadful. Real Madrid at home: 21% possession, no shot on goal, could have had 3 red cards in the end. Barcelona: created very few chances and tried very hard (too hard) to get someone from Madrid send off.

I personally prefer "acting" to dirty fouls. But apparently that's up for discussion. I think Pepe's red card was merited. Marcelo should have been send off for standing on Pedro (it was 0-0 at that time). And Adebayor for pushing/punching Busquets in the face.

It's also a shame that a great, proud, classy team like Real Madrid should turn out like this. Mourinho is a succesful coach, but imo he doesn't fit with Real Madrid's style & tradition at all.

Poor match with piss poor refereeing for the real x barca match. Pepe's foul was, AT MOST a yellow. Even that is pushing it. There were harder fouls that deserved a booking, even a red, than Pepe's... and then Barca's pre-Madonnas flopping all over the place didn't help either. I recall CRON and Sergio Ramos being fouled from behind and it was a slap on the wrist.
I'll be honest, I'm a massive Mourinho fan but I think him playing it defensive and safe while at home was the wrong call. It was working though but I'm not a fan of when he goes in with a defensive mentality like that especially at home. Still, what defined the game, or the tie I should say, was Pepe's BS sending off. Even though at half time Barca had 70% possession in Madrid, I think Real's shot chances were better than Barcas. I was surprised that it was still 0-0 at the 60' mark. I think at HT, Real had more shots and more on target than Barca, despite being dominated in possession.

The game completely changed soon as Pepe, who was stopping Barca at DM, was thrown out. A man down didn't help but you can see both of Barca's goals, amazing btw, were thanks to Pepe being gone at the DM spot. Neither Lass nor Albiol, when in that spot, wasn't a good replacement, Xabi Alonso when dropping back wasn't too bad there in my book. One example in particular had Marcelo close the flank and cut more towards the center and that left Afellay open way too much on his run which saw Messi's 1st goal.

I think it's safe to say that we'll see a Barca x Man U final, but the 2nd leg at the Camp Nou should be a VERY INTERESTING one.

Anyone catch the Europa League semis yesterday? My FC Porto.... WOW!!!

I sure as hell hope so. If it happens, I will be rooting for Manchester United! :D

I think the same. Given that Mourinho has said that they are out of the Champions League already, it will be interesting to see how his team plays next week.

Aww. I really wanted Real Madrid to win and get to the final with my team Manchester United. I want to see Ronaldo playing against United :D

It looks like Man Utd/Barca final. Manchester United should be allowed to wear their home kit this time. Couple of years ago Barca wore their home kit so now it's Man Utds turn to wear it and win the match!

Playing open game against Barcelona is reckless, even stupid. I don't blame him.

Pepe's foul wasnt' a red-card foul in my opinion. It was more about Alves' acting. I find such behaviour disgusting (it applies to most of Real & Barca players, Pedro, Busquets, di Maria). I don't think there is much hope for Real, as they will play without Pepe and Ramos. Still, this is football, nothing's impossible :D
And Messi's second goal, pure class, but I can't help feeling that if someone else scored a goal like that, people wouldn't rave about it.

So what do you guys think? Real has any chance at this?! I really hope so. But I'm a realist and I doubt it. Would be AWESOME!!! My team, Porto, pulled a similar thing in the Portugal Cup semifinal, down 2-0 going into the 2nd leg against their bitter rivals Benfica in Lisbon so I know it's possible!!! But Barca is Barca. :indiff:

I read today one of the best refs ever, currently head of ref board for UEFA will be monitoring today's game. Today's ref was the same ref that gave Motta a BS red card when Mourinho coached Inter, during CL semifinal against Barcelona at the Camp Nou!

Nah, Real will get their behinds kicked, unless they play really rough. So let's just hope Barca will make it a footballshow.

De Bleeckere is the ref.

Yup, De Bleeckere was that ref that red carded Motta last year, in this exact place (at Camp Nou, 2nd leg of CL semifinal).

From what I read before the match, Mourinho isn't even in the stadium. He was banned from the sidelines over some of his comments but was told to stay at his hotel due to security concern.

Listening to match, seems Barca has their usual dominating possession going on.

Yeah, Barca has a pretty tight grip on the game, but Real isn't going down easy, all the game needs now is a brilliant action from C. Ronaldo for a real spark in the game.

Listening to audio stream while at work, I heard them say Real hasn't had a single shot yet, only have 25-30% possession and are running out of steam towards end of 1st half. Not what Real needs. Mou isn't there for a glorious pep talk so... 45min till Barca goes through in my book. :guilty:

Yeah, but that was expected, sadly..

Unless Real scores a goal early in the second half, it's going to be a lame second half.

It's pretty hard to have any possession when everytime you make a tackle, even when you win the ball, Barca get a free kick. That being said some of Real's players don't look very interested in the game. It's hard to see anything other than a Barca win, but you never know.:)

Because the Barca players are stars in taking a dive and acting major pain...
But then again, that's how most Southern European and South American players are... :yuck:

This game needed an British ref, much better.
