After Anderson's second goal, the song "England 5 - Germany 1" came to my mind. Sadly, it didn't happen.

Man Utd. - Barcelona final. Rooting for Man Utd., my favorite team overall.

Well done Ferguson, saved best players for Sunday's crucial game with Chelsea at Old Trafford and still beat Schalke by a margin. United's second string battered team which battered CL title holders, that's something 👍
Final will be very tough, though. Hard to tell the winner. I'd say it's Barca 55 - 45 United. I hope for a equal treating by ref, many decisions went Barcelona's way during past few years:
- two unawarded penalties in semis in 2009 at Stamford Bridge
- simulating by Busquets in 2010 semis led to Motta's red card
- red card for van Persie in this season's last 16
- inconsistency in first leg of this year's semis (red for Pepe, no red for one of Barca's players)
- racist remarks at Bernabeu
- simulating to get rival booked
- Higuain's disallowed goal on Tuesday
And this fan has got this spot-on:

Really looking forward to this clash. Unlike Madrid, Manchester plays football and not karate. They will come out from the start looking for the win

Anyone claiming barca dives and overlooks the way Madrid play needs to look at all 5 clasicos this season. I'm not denying any diving. I find it embarrassing. I just don't think you will see much of that in the final as united aren't into fouling players out of the game (reference to Ramos intentionally kicking messi in November with the intent to injure, and Marcelo stomping on Pedro which made him leave the pitch due to ankle injury). Last game foul count was 30-6 Madrid barca respectively. Out of those 30, five or maybe six shouldn't have been fouls due to the diving. 11 of those were carvalho who easily deserved several yellows and a sending off, maybe also adebayor who constanty kicked and body checked our players. We all know why there was no red in that game.

Anyways no more ranting. I am really looking forward to a rematch of 2009 final as that was very fun to watch. No matter who wins I can see this being a great final.

Edit: please don't blame the refs for doing their job. Like I mentioned. Look at the foul count. That's just from 1 game. Not all 5. Yes the busquets simulation was terrible and probably cost us the tie as mou tightened up the defense causing more trouble for us to get past them. Also i dont hear any of you talking about di maria diving skills throughout this season, or ronaldo who is infamously known for his dives, specially against milan. all teams have divers, some more than others, and the fact that barca is winning, we are under the spotlight and are being focused on more than other teams

Also loon back at last yr semi. Inter was ruled onside on a blatant offside. Or bojan goal taken away for an alleged hand ball which was clearly not and could ha e sent us in to the finals. So how is that decisions going towards barca? People have selective memory and the jealousy is ridiculous. At the moment barca are the strongest team amongst others (united, Chelsea, Madrid, inter... The list goes on) in a few years don't see us being this strong as we will lose some players to old age and will take a bit for out youths to perform at this calibre. It's just a cycle. Look at Liverpool. Great team with lots of history of wining trophies but now they are in the pits and will once again become a top team.

I doubt it. Playing open game with Barca is too reckless.

That's the most outrageous diving I've ever seen.

bad angle... watch this one. notice ronaldo dove also as the ref didnt even play advantage on that play. if ref played advantage on foul on ronaldo the play would still have come to a stop becasuse he made contact with masch that slowed him down.

i will agree that masch milked it... but again i ask do u notice ronaldo diving? pique barely brushed him.

ne ways i just wanted to point out several angles show there was contact and it was accidental but a foul is a foul no matter what.

edit: the dive he did when diarra tackled him was waaay worse.. pathetic if u ask me.. as a barca fan i really wish they would stop. but again lots of journalists are saying that real madrid plays to aggressive and fouls too much and has left barca with no choice but to over react. i dont completely agree but as mentioned in my previous post, just look at the foul count. barca had less than 10 fouls while madrid was up with 30 fouls which i will rule out 5 or 6 from dives but still 25 fouls compared to 6 .. and carvalho and pepe r the dirtiest players in football..

check this video of pepe

I'm hoping the final is about soccer and not diving nor acting. I hope the refs nail anyone acting or diving with cards and sets the tone early on in the match.

With that said, neither team in the final is my team (don't really have an EPL team) but I'll be massively rooting for Man U to topple Barca.

FCB-Rizla-TML, when you are running at full speed an small contact will throw you off balance. Pique clipped CRON which had him fall on to Masch. Masch cried like a lil baby to get the foul and sadly Higuain's goal was disallowed. The ref got it wrong. At worst, the ref should have give the foul on Pique and a FK should have been given to Barca, but due to advantage rule the ref should have allowed play to continue and Higuain's goal would stand.
You don't need to post Pepe's blowout from last season. Every player loses it once in awhile, sometimes it goes overboard like Pepe who normally is a calm going player (just look at the classicos this year where he was trying to calm RM's younger players). The diving and acting by Barca far out-taint the sport negatively than 1 player, Pepe, snapping the way he did.
Carvalho isn't the dirtiest player in footy. From Porto to Chelsea to Real he's shown to be one of the best CBs out there. Always calm and collected and he's the type of player you want in the back to make a last minute legal but lunging effort to stop the ball. In this match he was off his mark and could have been sent off, that I'll definitely agree but RC usually gets it right and takes out the ball when you least expect a defender to do so.

I wanted Schalke to get to the final instead of United because I'm sick of the same teams getting to the final every year, I hope next that an underdog gets to the final and I hope they win.

I really hope Man U takes the final over Barca's acting class.

This. I support both teams, but after seeing Man Utd. play fairly against Schalke (no diving that I could spot), I really want it to beat Barça.

I don't know, man. Remember his "foul" on Dani Alves at the first leg? Granted, apparently he did not touch him, but had Alves left his leg in that place...

The diving and acting by Barca far out-taint the sport negatively than 1 player, Pepe, snapping the way he did.

This, I agree. However, I'd rather have people Barça diving (or ANY other team, for that matter), instead of Pepe snapping like he did.

Yes I remember Pepe's foul on Dani Alves. It did not deserve a red card. At most a yellow but a red? Certainly not. There were harsher fouls that weren't called on Barca like CRON getting tripped from behind and nothing called. The ball was directed in that direction by Pepe and it was a 50-50 ball for both players. Both went up with their feet and Pepe's was the one which looked to have 'made contact'. Pepe didn't go through Alves. He actually looked like he tried avoiding contact with the player and went solely for the ball. It was an unjust red where Dani Alves made it more than it was. I think only Puyol should be chasing the refs over fouls, not the whole damn team as Puyol is the captain. If I were the ref I'd have given a yellow to each and every player chasing the ref calling for a foul. I can't stand that, even when my Porto players do it I call blasphemy. Play the game the way it's meant to be played!

Who do you think gets preference from the referrees at a neutral site between two teams who are both notorious for getting favorable calls?

The final should be neutral, even on English soil. It's the final of the CL, one of the biggest and most watched tourneys out there. After the classico semifinal fiasco with refereeing I'm certain they won't want anything like that happen in the final.

agreed.. it should have been a free kick for madrid. i still dont believe it should be advantage because ronaldo did make contact with masch which made him stumble (notice i said stumble.. masch did dive to make it more obvious which i DO NOT condone) and that ruled him out of defending higuain as he would be able to with no contact.

every highlight show i have watched, every paper i have read says he deserved the red card. pepe came out with studs showing at knee level, and a couple angles do show contact, but thats not even the point because without contact that is still a very dangerous tackle. also if u notice pepe's has left both his feet of the ground, knees and ankles locked and his eyes shut. to me thats reckless. i am still ashamed at alves' theatrics as i dont think it was necessary of him to do that or leave on a stretcher. if pepe didnt get the red im sure adebayor or marcelo would have gotten it for their acts of aggression. adeboyor with the punching slap or whatever it was and marcelo for stomping.

lets just hope we see a cracking final as we all know that not only fans of either teams will be watching but a lot of neutral fans will also be watching as this event is as mentioned by someone else as big as the world cup.

Near for my ideal outcome in the 2 UEFA CUP Semi-Finals and for a all Portuguese Final(first time in History) in a UEFA Competition!:)

UPS PENALTY.:grumpy:

here is more angles

keep in mind frame rate. 1 camera may have missed the contact. several other angles show alves' leg vibrate.

but still no contact doesnt mean a red card cant be shown. look at avles' foot. he is using the inside of his leg to get the ball while pepe decides to go in with his studs. again i will mention his follow through of knees and ankles locked. both feet in the air like he doing karate flying side kick and not even looking at the ball. if u measure how high his leg is its at alves' knee height.

sure each ref will see it diff depending on how strict they are. some may give him a yellow, some may give him a red. at the nd of the day, the way he has been playing the past few clasico's it was inevitable that he was going to get a red or double yellow. he was pushing the limits no doubt

we can keep going back and forth on this issue..anyways what has happened, happened and can't change that. lets hope there is an impartial ref in the final and that we see good football from both sides
