poolhaas I think you were the one who asked me what I thought about Mangala and Defour. So far Defour has been connecting with my Porto squad, but I haven't seen much of Mangala yet. Missed Porto x Shakhtar game but Mangala didn't play/sub. One of the main CBs (Rolando) was out on suspension but was the backup. Porto likes to take a 'veteran Porto CB' and have him alongside a new CB. Both CBs were 'new' from last year's acquisition. If Rolando played maybe we'd see Mangala.

That was me, I have been keeping an eye on Porto since we played them in the Europa League playoffs last year (and lost 3-0, 4-2 :P)
I knew it was going to make it far and was surprised to see they won that year.

I hope that Defour stays injury free, never thought he'd make it into the squad so fast. Good luck in CL this year

Yeah our midfield is pretty stacked but due to some suspensions and injuries he got his chance and so far has shown up well. He's connecting with the team so hopefully he doesn't go into injuries. We have a winger that is good (Cristian Rodriguez) but he is always getting hurt. I don't want that from Defour and if injured it can be tricky getting back into normal rotation.

3-0 already

It's getting close,

The Dutch league is nothing more than a Mickey Mouse league. We have nothing to bring to the Champions league.

Join the club :indiff:

I was meant to watch the Man City and Man Utd games in the pub last night, but I'm still stricken with a cold, and so I missed all the fun...

The Man U game sounded quite extraordinary, while Man City proved themselves to be well and truly not ready for the likes of Bayern Munich - and it looks like Mancini has put his career on the line by saying that Tevez will never play for him again... I think Mancini will win, but if the owners of Man City decide that they'd rather see Mancini leave than Tevez, it might be a different story.

Arsenal v Olympiacos tonight. Time to see if our defenders really have sorted themselves out. Hopefully marsielle and dortmund will draw, taking us to the top of the group.

Anyone watching Valencia - Chelsea?
Valencia is giving away the ball like they want to lose the game.

We (Genk) should have tied against Leverkusen, so many chances just no luck.
Oh well, guess we'll just snatch the 3 points in Stamford Bridge

Sorry about what happened to Porto in Zenit Cuco33, haven't seen the game so I can only assume something bad happened over there.

The last scoring chance of Genk, the black guy with his head, that should have gone in.

Btw, Imbrahimovic is back with Milan, and he's on fire.

My FC Porto made it hard for their CL run... should be in 1st place but instead... sit in 3rd place in their group :(

Weeeee all agreeeeeeeeeeeee, Chelsea supporters are wankers (sing along)

Fooooooooooooooooooooooooooorza racing!!!!!!!

Who the F are we??? Now you know :)

Yeah, another Genk supporter! 👍
Amazing result, fell down a good 6 steps when the goal was scored but it's all good :sly:

Now we need a victory in this campaign and everything is perfect.

My FC Porto lost to APOEL 2-1... I saw the first 60' then heard the rest on a radio stream on my droid... unbelievable. Played like crap and it's more clear to me now that the coach 'VP', AVB's assistant last year, is just not up to the task. Taking a top flight team winning literally everything possible last year, not losing a single game all season, biggest gap between 1st and 2nd place in European history (21pts) to struggling holding onto 1st place in the league, and in major limp mode in the CL group. This CL group was supposed to be 'easy' and in the bag for 1st place... instead Zenit and APOEL are ahead and Porto got themselves into a pickle. I fear my club will not advance past the group stage which would be a massive failure!!!!! :(

Chelsea seems to still be having defensive issues. Nice job Genk!

Today Real Madrid should hopefully be steam rolling over Lyon. I'm going to guess 3-0

I was surprised to see Porto lose, even more to see APOEL leading the group.

Strange things can happen in the CL.

Today is D-Day for my FC Porto. Win and we're in. Tie or lose and we crash out. At work now counting down the clock until 2pm so I can jet out of here and watch this game at the bar.

FORCA PORTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:guilty::guilty::guilty:

Porto DOMINATED yesterday... 25 shots compared to 3, 8 on target, 10 corners, 60%+ possession... ends in a 0-0 tie and Porto crashes out of the CL :yuck:
