I had the option to sleep or see the match in repetition at deep midnight. Thank goodness I chose the second! I can now say to my grandchildren I was there... in front of the TV!:dopey:

Seriously, Barca made Leverkusen seem like coming from category B. Barca was attacking in waves and was insanely confident and menacing. And what can I say about Messi? Legend.

How far is he off from a goal scoring record? Anyone know who holds the record for goals in a season in only competitive matches? As if you could call last night competitive but you know what I mean.

I've got Ferenc Deak of Hungary with 66 in '49 and Pele on the same in '58. Messi in 18 behind, not unthinkable for him to equal that when he has 14 league games, the Spanish Cup Final, and at least 2 more Champions League games to come.

That was the record for a single Champion's League game.

I meant season total wise. He's on 49 in the CL, 22 down on Raul's record. He'll have that next season at this rate.

Lionel who ?

Torres not starting. :D

Hoping for a 2-0 although I can't see Luiz and co keeping a clean sheet tonight.

:ill: 2 goals needed now, it was coming.

They're doing pretty well so far... there's definitely a positive correlation between the proximity of Torres's buttocks to the bench, and the success of the team.

Been that way since the 31st January 2011.

He's warming up now.

And the dread words have been spoke:

"Fernando Torres is warming up" :ill:

Watch this, the guy will score two and be a club hero

.

Only need one to take it equal on aggregate and push it onto extra time, 3-1 for both teams at home. However Torres is warming up to come on.

Torres coming on to save the day for chelsea fans, nothing to worry about.

Edit, Sturridge off... Wut?

Penalty :D.

...and it's scored. Not even Torres can ruin it now.OK maybe he can, not over yet.

Looks like extra time at the minute unless Napoli score which looks very likely.
EDIT: And here comes Extra time

Phew ! That looked like two hands round the neck in the penalty box. Good job there was a 5th official, good call !

Extra time it is then.

Extra time it is then. Can see both sides scoring before this finishes, and penalties. In other news, Madrid strolled past CSKA 5-2 on aggregate, 4-1 on the night.

Do away goals not count double in extra time?

Either way, it's been a very good performance from Chelsea... if they go out, atleast they'll be able to hold their heads high, like Arsenal after their comeback against Milan last week...

My prediction is still 3-1 after extra time with Chelsea winning 5-4 on pens.
