Germany could just grab a consolation goal here with a penalty.
EDIT: They do.
It's more than a consolation... they've now got a chance to stay in the tournament... somewhat undeservedly, however.

Looks like Germany may have blown it... great play from Neuer though...

That was the single greatest header I've ever seen.

Also, the match was over at half time...

Great game - best of the tournament so far IMO.

A vintage performance from Italy - Balotelli took his chances brilliantly, but Pirlo was phenomenal. Buffon once again proved to be solid as a rock. I just hope they can keep up this sort of form against Spain...

Thats it!!! fulltime 2-0 italy..

..germans never really turned up!!
Unlike Germany, it seems you missed the penalty ;)

Hoorah, Italy to the final! Now we get a rematch of Spain-Italy. I knew they would make it to the finals...2010 World Cup is behind them now for sure.

I'll be damned.

As much as I want Italy to win, we have an easy win for Spain ahead, regardless of their crappy playing against Croatia and Portugal...

Powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

Hate to see Germany out, but the best team won. With Spain not playing at their best, this final is looking very unpredictable, which is pretty sweet.

This Euro is fake since the beginning. Spain is getting lots of help.

Remember what Platinni said: The final will be Spain vs Germany. The president of UEFA said that. I have nothing more to add.

Italy will never win today.

Anyone?

I was impressed by Bayern Munchen in Champions League this year, but without Ribery and Robben it's definitely not the same thing.

Seriously this Germany is a mediocre team, after half an hour the match was gone, I was even bored no real threats. Di Natale could have scored the 3rd goal but he wasted several opportunities. Penalty was kind of harsh, Klose pushed Balzaretti a bit, but who cares. Best german player the goalkeeper LOL

Final with Spain will be a total different story they know how to play and how to keep the ball. They are the bast Euro (and World) team without any doubt, but they are not unbeatable.

I'm AMAZED by italian gameplay tonight, apart from the free kick at the end, grat defence, Balotelli was in a very cool shape, everything seemed to be perfect, i'm really PROUD of my team today! Forza Italia :) And Against the spain, everything is cool, it's already a pleasure to be here!

Not sure where you got mediocre from. Sure, they played crap today, but up to this game they were certainly looking like the best team in the tournament, and that includes Spain. Honestly don't see Spain as strong as they used to be now, and I think the other top national teams do too..

And remember this. Balotelli is just 21. Born in 1990.

I feel old.

He is a great player, but he stands for everything I hate with some football players; They take everything for granted. Showing up to training days when they feel like it, poor behavior on the field. But hey, he can play good anyway so that new Bentley's coming his way anyhow.

Football players are nothing compared to for example cyclists, who sometimes have to cover an enormous 6hr 250km race. The money involved with this sport is just absurd at times.

I'm sorry but you have been proved wrong. Germany is the classic team strong with medium opponents and weak with the big ones. Expecially now, without top players. Mario Gomez without Robben and Ribery support was like a truck with no fuel. Just stuck in the middle, totally useless. Ozil is a decent player but not a top one, Kedhira is nothing special really = they are a mediocre team compared to Italy or Spain. Italy has a decent defense a good midfield and Balotelli, Spain has Fabregas Iniesta Torres Xavi, etc.. are you kidding me. Maybe they are not playing at their best, but they have skills to score a goal any time.
