Ugly But Appealing Vehicles

Yeah, it's actually a nice car but I don't like the wheels. They look a bit like the Ford ones. I have drove on and the ride is pretty good and like others have said, the engine is very quiet. The only thing I can criticize are the wheels and the windows on the doors, I think they look too big for the doors and the fact that it only seats four which for a car of its size is rather disappointing.

Another friend of mine has said several times that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evoluiton X is one of the ugliest cars ever, we had a huge disagreement on that.

I love all Lancer Evolutions, even since I was little. The ten was no different and I wish the FQ360 and 400 models were sold in the states. The Evolution ten is a quick sport sedan still and it got some good car reviews I think. I also like the front look of it.

Anything after the IV is damn fugly.

Fixed. The V-VI are arguably the fugliest Evos to date regardless of their level of appeal.

As for the X, I've always liked the design more than the three preceding Evos (especially the VIII). At least without all the cosmetic additions that you see on the FQ400. What I find worse though, is how Mitsubishi decided to plaster that front end on its other models in recent years. The facelifted Colt for instance. It just looks so out of place on a supermini like that.

The fox is one hell of a car. Love them. The original sn95 before the new edge redesign left the V8 alone and converted it into a chick car. IMO that's the worst model mustang.

You shut your mouth :P JK I dont get alot of the SN95 hate but I am weird and like them along with the Mustang II (lots of good memories of riding in a Uncles V8 one in the Early '80s)

I don't hate the SN95, built on the Fox platform or not, I just think it's one of the worst of the Mustangs, but still not bad. If that makes sense.

I agree about the 'Stang II though, my buddy has a '76 Cobra II, with a 1984 302 in it, Edlebrock intake and 4 barrel, Mutha Thumpr cam and custom headers. She pulls real hard from idle to 6 grand but the stock idle is a bit of a whistle. Kind of annoying.

This is his Cobra. When he takes off the front end flies in the air. Love it.

^ I understand the Modular SN95 (96 to 98) were way down on the HP stock but now with parts swapping from the New edge cars they are pretty good. I look at them as cars that HAVE to have modifactions LOL

My ugly and Appealing car is the 740 Volvo wagon I love these things and had a '89. One day I will get another and swap a Ford V8 into it.

Power was actually the same as the 302 when the Mod first came out but at a higher RPM, so people thought that motor was a dog at first.

Very true I was thinking of the Fox rating on the 302 LOL. Those NPI 2v Modulars were dogs tho untill the PI heads and cams came out for them it was tough to make good HP with them unless you went to forced induction.

I'm liking all the conversion intakes to 4 barrel carbs now, I thought that was cool as hell. Edlebrock makes Victor Jr. intakes for them.

It is pretty cool. I am a EFI guy carbs are black magic to me plus getting them to run right at this altitude/heat is tough.

I don't mind mechanical fuel injection kits on pushrods:

But personally I'd rather have a carb. To me they are easier to work with. That said that depends on location and it's all subjective. I hate EFI systems because I don't like the computer involvement. With a carb or MI, you can pretty much slap the motor in anything and go.

It does look pretty sweet aye!

David Bache was already a well known designer at Rover and designed the P5/P6 as well as the Range Rover. For the SD1 he was inspired by some exotic machinery like the Maserati..... and the Ferrari Daytona. ...

Blasphemy.

The X doesn't even deserve to be called an Evo.
How can you say that? The Evo X is the best of the breed.

I do like that and you can see some resemblance of the Ferrari Daytona in there; headlights in particular.
In what way and you've misquoted me!

This is not ugly.

This is cool and beautiful.

Seeing that back end again reminds me that I much prefer the rear on the SD1's successor (Fastback version).

That doesn't mean the rest of the SD1 is unpleasant to look at. So long as the paint isn't a grody shade of 1970s brown.

I always like the SD1, my dad had a couple when he worked for Rover, I'm pretty sure it was 80's brown though.

The 800? Not as keen on the original 800 fastback. But I do like it. (Which still carried the Vitesse name, I see.)

But the facelift 800? What a beautiful creature! Especially this one with some 'sporty' trim.

Note: The above post was for referential purposes only. Liquid considers neither car to be ugly, but does consider them both handsome and appealing.

I liked these too, again my dad had at least 3... One of which was a 2.7 sport fastback.

All in, IMO the SD1 and the 800 are not ugly, and are relatively appealing.

The SD1 is possible one of the coolest cars on the road right now, it just looks... hard.
