*cough*and ruining the mustang*cough*
.

Less weight and size in the upcoming S550 dont see how thats ruining the Mustang. To me its coming back to its roots.

Ps I love the Fiestas look and wish we got the 3doors. The current Ford corporate look is better than the Ford "427" concept look we had the last few years.

I think he means that the look of it will be ruining the mustang, because Ford said the S550 would be based off of the Evos Concept. Although, I agree. I think the 2015 mustang will be awesome; it'll weigh less than the S197 and have IRS. This mustang can become quite a track monster and the current mustang was quick enough already around a track with just a LRA.

X3:tup: It looks real tough..fastest 4 door in the world at the time I believe?💡

The Carlton was the fastest sedan in the world for quite a while until it was surpassed by newer M5's, Bentleys, the CTS-V etc.

Here is a divider...late '70's Plymouth Volare Road Runner. Not even close to the previously legend of a Road Runner, but I think it's cool looking in it's own right. I think it's one of the most badass cars of the late '70s personally. You either love it or hate it.

I'm not exactly going out on a limb here, but any trim upgrade for a vehicle based on the Plymouth Volaré is merely lipstick on a pig.

If Toyota sold a Camry with a similar fake hot-rod look, it would be panned as well.

True, I must admit that car was quite the dog from the factory. Luckily, aftermarket fixes that now 👍

It does look quite mean, but I don't think I like it much other than that.

For the times, personally I think it was one of the best looking cars of the '70s, post big time muscle era. Performance was poop at best, like most of the cars, but this is a highlight for the times. At least this model anyways, as the standard models were a bit meh since they were designed to compete against the Ford Granada. I'd definitely own one, especially since even here, where I see muscle a lot, have yet to see one of these in person.

Most people from my area would assume this is a "commie POS car", but it appeals to me for some reason...

For me the interesting Eastern block car is the Tatra T700 I have loved these since I first read about them in Car and Driver back in the late '90s. I would love to have one.

Air cooled? Ouch. Probably wouldn't like to see high RPM's very long.

Yeah that's the only problem with it. Out here in the Desert I figured air cooled would be bad bad in the summer but I haven't driven one so I could be wrong.

I'd never drive an air cooled V8 on the road. That is just a big no no.

What's the big problem? The Porsche 917 had an air-cooled flat-twelve.

Overheating. I can understand at high speeds it might not be much of an issue, but at lower speeds at a high RPM it's not enough to cool it adequately. Same reason why you shouldn't ride an air cooled ATV topped out too long.

I'd like to add the 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo to the list. It's an odd looking crossover but in an unexplainable way very appealing vehicle to me.

My mother likes the looks of a car just as much as how good the car is. Naturally she has a '02 Ford BA Falcon and she would very much hate the Nissan Juke.:yuck:

bronco-ii-015.jpg

The Ford Bronco II. Very capable off-road. Very strong axles, diffs, transfer case, suspension, and frame. The 2.8l and 2.9l V6 Ford used in them was a compete POS, but the rest of the vehicle was a pretty strong everyday'er. I owned one for 7 years. Genuinely miss that little thing. On the trails it would keep up with any stock or mildly modified Jeep, Land Cruiser, or Land Rover. No truck I've owned since was as good as the little Bronco in snow or mud. Cheers little Bronco, cheers indeed.

I had a Bronco II. The thing was a pile of crap, but I loved it. The Cologne v6s they used were absolute piles that role down and left us stranded everywhere all the time. My mom actually had to walk over 6 miles 9 months pregnant with my sister to get to a phone an call my dad out of work to come get it. Despite even having a parts truck for it, it was dung. And those are the same engines used in Capris. Anyone who says they are reliable needs their heads checked. Worst thing that ever happened was the front wheel rolled off going down down the road and the steering went. Then we scrapped it.

I agree with you about the axles etc but I wouldn't want to own another one. I'd rather have a full size bronco.
