I'm now settled down in front of the telly, about a mile from the venue. Think I'll get an early night and see you all nice and early tommorrow - unless anyone else is arriving soon and wants to go to t'pub.

Just about to set off to rendezvous with the flying Scotsman and his Co-pilot.
I hope the weather is better darn sarf.

:mischievous:👍

I'm afraid not - I didn't think there was any Internet here at all, but Car-less has found some somehow; not in the same room as the LAN unfortunately.

20 past midnight and we only finished half an hour ago.

So far we've run;
- 70's Babies Handicap, won by Roo
- Algore Eco Challenge, won by homeforsummer
- DTM Pick'n'Mix, Won by Famine
and made a start on the Super Saloons Handicap.

for any more detail you'll have to wait for the 'might never happen' official results thread from Roo.

Al Gore must die. Prefferably in some kind of bestiality incident with a rhino.

You coluld save yourself a few complications and just make him do 10 laps in the Alpine instead. I'm sure the hurt value is equal.

Hehehehe! You've enjoyed the Alpine then? How many people got to drive that?
It's a great car once you get the hang of it, it just takes a while...
What about the Mitsubishi? How many of you got to experience it's weird noise?
I still remember Kylehnat's thoughts on that from SFGTP3:

Kylehnat
???: "What's that sound on the Mitsubishi? Is it turbo-whine?"
Me: "No, that's the sound of the car sucking."

I didn't actually get near it, but I heard enough '#*~$¥ing thing won't drive in a straight line's to get a fair understanding. Although that might have been Famine in the Europa, I can't remember.

You coming back over to join us Jondot?
Everyone else is warming up as we await the return of you and Roo.

What was it last thing last night? BMW M5, Mines Lancer Evo VI, Lotus Carlton?

Clio Endurance is running at the mo - 50 laps of Opera Paris. Team David (Car-less & daan) lead at half distance from Sureboss/homeforsummer/The Grim Reaper and Famine/Roo/Jondot.

And the fat lady sang for...?

Much fun all weekend, particularly last night with Daan after some Famine-home-made-Limoncello induced anti-sober Sureboss.

The Clio endurance was very fun, one of the closest we've ever had, I did 2 laps on molten tyres which won us the race as we stopped one less than anyone else. HFS was blisteringly quick in the middle stint too.

Nice to meet some new people in Grim Reaper and Jondot and race with the old faces.

Big thanks to Roo for "organising" the event, everyone for good racing and often hilarious and to Bumble, the Bull with the wonky willy who was the meat in our SpagBol Fusilli Ragu yesterday.

I now have some videos to sort out. 👍

Mmmm, we were a bit rubbish with the whole updating this thread thing. Mostly because t'internet was in another room, and y'know, that.

I imagine results won't materialise for the next few days, as Roo is probably still jamming tables into a Volvo and daanfamsummer are still driving up to that grim 'The North' place. But I can confirm that I was very, very last. At everything.

Anyway, assorted pickytures. Or all the ones I actually took anyway...

Roo's small thing

Anyway, great to meet everyone, and big thanks to Roo for venue & food. And Famine for fixing the LAN when I pressed something. And everyone else for not stabbing me when I drove into the back of/directly in front of them. Much fun was had 👍

R.I.P Bumble. Forever in our hearts stomachs.

We left at 2.30pm and rocked up here at 7.30pm. Having stopped four times for food, petrol, wee and to buy another car.

Somehow...

Totally enjoyed the whole weekend. Great meeting everyone and putting some names to faces. Glad i didn't let the team down on the endurance race, especially given the fact i cocked up my first stint leaving us 30 secs behind, good job HFS was on side with some epic driving to reduce that gap.

As for epic driving, Famine must get a mention. Driving courses in reverse is truly an achievement.

One sad note though. I seem to of left my power cable behind to my new tele. Let me know if anyone has it. TV not really that good without it. :-(

Cheers Roo for hosting the event. Hopefully see you all at the next one.

Grim (Jamie) 👍

You did 2 laps on molten tyres? Did you see my tyres for those last two laps - I was running on bare rims. ...and you stopped one less than team Dave? We went for a crazy 3 stop strategy - 12.5 laps per stint. You managed 16.6 laps per stint?

Anyways, Thanks to;
Roo for the Hosting/Admin/Food etc.
daan for the loan of a new GT4 disk so I don't get withdrawl symptoms.
Roo/daan/Sureboss for the recording (and future editing/uploading) efforts.
Famine for the hilarious 'doing it backwards' fun - no offence Jon.
Jondot for his efforts driving the camera car towards the end of proceedings.
homeforsummer for taking almost all of the prizes.
The Grim Reaper for allowing me to see just how bad I was at driving with a playseat/wheel combo.
Specialised/EXelero for dropping in to show us the Beat.
Bumble for his self sacrifice to keep us fed.

It was great to see everyone again, and to meet the new guys. Here's to the next time.

...and for those that think they got a good run home - I left the Shell station at 15:25 and was home 169 miles away by 18:05, mostly cross country with less than 30 miles of motorway. I may have forgotten I had finished playing gt4 as there was some squealing tyres, drafting etc employed!

good run home - 63.4mph average

58mph, with a 30 minute break at Toddington, 5 at Tibshelf, 1 at Doncaster and 15 in Rotherham. An average (including the 30/40mph stuff) of... 69.9mph.

Yo!

I refuse to be impressed until you do it in reverse.

No L1 in the Accord. Though there is some VTEC. It kicked in. Yo.

I am a master of the pointless achievements :D

Right-angled kettle lead? We found it when packing up and I have it in my kitbox. I can post or you can come to the coast and collect (we have a spare room and ting). Either/or.

Good to meet you finally :D

Pah. Looks like M3, M25, M1, M18 in a Honda Accord to me.

Try B3013, A30, B3349, M3, A303, A358, M5, A361, A39 in a 1.3 Fiesta, passing through no less than 6 town/villages, and 8 speed cameras - not that I was counting of course, it's not like my car could keep up with a hard driven Prius at the Test Course? Or could it?

Yep, three-up :D

Also, it's like I calculated the breaks very precisely to give an average speed 0.1mph below NSL :D

Depends. Are you looking out the rear screen and steering with your feet? :D

I managed 179miles in 2hrs 15mins. almost all motorway though. Told you the Meriva was a beast, then again it is more like a pig, it was squeeling all the way home. :-D

I will pm my address, if you could post it for me. I will take you up on th eoffer one day and visit the coast.

Grim (Jamie) 👍

1.2 miles in 4 minutes 30 secondsish. Average speed: 16 mph. And I still only got home half an hour before Famine.

I did the 250 miles from Leeds to Kent without stopping at all on thursday, so you're all pansies.

No offence, me.

I'm home too. A19, A69, M74 (with a slight detour as the M74 was shut for the last 11 miles of my journey!)

Had a great weekend. Was great to meet everyone again, and Jon and Jamie for the first time. Off to bed now. Will sort out the videos at some point...
