That's the amount of powerslides there are.
fifty, right? I counted on my fingers, was amazed I needed two hands, even counting in binary!

Where's all that bass coming from?

Episode 7 - Preview

Source: Top Gear Website

Ready the rotten fruit and rotten eggs: this Sunday’s episode is the last in the current series of Top Gear.

We’re sorry. We really are. Throw your fruit and eggs but don’t aim for the face. Please. Because Show Seven (see, right down with the telly lingo, we are) is lining up to be an absolute cracker.

We’ve snuck down to filming to find out what’s coming up on Sunday’s show, and the answer is… lots of tyre smoke. That’s because our resident muscle car enthusiast Richard Hammond – in a bid to find an interesting alternative to the ubiquitous Germanic sports saloons – has got his hands on a Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst.

Yes, that’s the eminently sensible Aussie repmobile armed with a 564bhp 6.2-litre V8 and a penchant for getting very sideways. Expensive tyre bills ensue.

Jeremy and James, meanwhile, have been hard at work creating a memorable television advert for Volkswagen. Remember the Golf GTI ad with the squeaky earring? Or the singing dog? Well, it’s probably going to end up being nowhere near as good as those.

There’s a proper A-list petrolhead in our Reasonably Priced Car, too, as Jay Leno – the strong-chinned American chat show host with arguably the finest garage in the world – takes the venerable Lacetti for a spin.

And as if that wasn’t excitement enough, the Cool Wall is back! This time, however, Jeremy and Richard have promised that they won’t fight about the cars at all. Honest. It’s all going to be friendship and teamwork and male bonding and definitely no chainsaws this time.

I think season 12 was brilliant too, with the Vietnam special being the best episode ever. Season 13 hasn't been too epic, but James has been hilarious this season.

Also, when watching episode 2 again, I noticed the Stig putting his head under a copy machine, anyone else noticed that? He was very briefly in the background when James, Richard and Jeremy were discussing how to insure their 17-year old cars...

Noticed by a couple of people, even mentioned in this thread.

Didn't laugh as much as the 17yo segment, but still hilarious.

There's also tooth whitener on Hammonds table, picture of a cow, picture of the Queen on James', Will Young's photo on Jezzas, a gun , a gold bullion nearby, and a baseball helmet or something.

I made a list of this seasons introductions because I was bored and I thought a few of them were humorous.

1: Tonight;
Richard tries to start a motorbike,
James fills his car with petrol,
and I get a british rail sun-tan.

2: Tonight;
we throw a chair over a hedge,
a quite interesting man drivers our reasonably priced car,
and for the first time ever the Bugatti Veyron races the Mclaren F1

3: Tonight;
we shout at the government,
a man drives a Subaru through a building,
and a dog goes in a car.

4: Tonight;
the fastest man in the world on our track,
the slowest man in the world falls asleep,
and we literally set fire to dorset with a machine gun.

5: Tonight;
we save the entire world,
we test a fat spanial from Jaguar,
and we annoy France's second best racing driver.

6: Tonight;
I wear some goggles,
Richard falls down a small slope,
and James says hello to a man.

Good episode, shame it's the last of the series but the next one will be round soon enough.

Great ending, just the Vantage V12 driving along that country lane, hopefully he's wrong about where cars like that are going to end up.

Quite a good episode tonight in my opinion
The ads were pretty funny, especially the one in te hospital with the guy's arm gushing blood.
Jay Leno was a good guest, very amusing story and came across as quite a nice guy (I've never seen him on tv before)
Pretty crap ending I thought. I was hoping for something either very funny or with a lot of action.

Was Clarkson referring to the car or the program - especially with the jibes about Massa/Hamond???

They can't end Top Gear :(
I was thinking the same though during the ending...

The car, TopGears not ending it'll be back at the end of the year. There was a double reference in that it was the last part of the last episode of the series.

It did seem like something was ending. He even said "Goodbye" instead of "Goodnight" IIRC.

Can I show you the exit?

Simply beautiful ending. Beautiful car, beautiful countryside. No words are needed to express that.

I'm 15, what do you expect! I'm not one for poetry I'm afraid.
Yes, because it was the last episode of the series. He's said goodbye at the end of several if not all the series so far sometimes he adds roughly when the next series is on if a dates already set. He only say's goodnight mid series. Stop reading too much into this. If (and it's a big if) TopGear doesn't come back then it's got nothing to do with any decisions made during the filming of that series but as things stand TopGear IS coming back.

If, like me, maybe Aldo was ever-so slightly more impressed with the Ferrari 458 :drool:

Ohhhh that was awfully nice!!!
I'm not saying the car wasn't nice, I love Astons, but the seriousness of the last bit just wasn't my cup of tea I'm afraid :)
