It might only be a little bit quicker around a track than the Focus, but it's also quicker than, or almost as quick as, many cars that cost a lot more: Merc C63 AMG, Evo X FQ-300, BMW 335i, Nissan 350Z. It's also within a second or so of a Boxter S, Audi RS6 or Supercharged VXR8.

As much as i love it, i could'nt see myself buying one either. You take the practicality of a hatchback away and you are left with a two seater sports car. If i wanted a quick sports car i could use on a daily basis, even in poor weather, and still have fun on a trackday i'd buy an Elise.

Or buy a Clio200 and save £9k over the RS 💡

I honestly enjoyed that episode, thought it was one of the good 'uns so far. I enjoyed the cheap car challenge, quite funny in places, the slogans on the cars we're good too. News was good, Jaaaag review was good, nice to see a British car being compared to the M5. The green house gas thing was a bit out of the blue, but still funny. Jeremy's box idea seems to have a few probelms...SIARPC was good, I enjoyed it she seemed quite pretty, never heard of her before though. But definately was quite good, she did incredibley well for someone passing her English driving test only last week. Was very impressed. 👍

I'm guessing the Marina club won't be too pleased :sly:

I'd say 9/10 I don't think there was segment I didn't enjoy. As per usual I'll watch it again tommorrow and my opinions may change.

That was my fav ep so far. The challenge was a laugh, the XFR test was good, there weren't any clangers in terms of any segments being rubbish. And Sienna Miller? Jezza was right, she was fit.

As soon as the challenge had finished, I was just thinking to myself, "will it blow up, will it explode." Good old Top Gear, was a great episode.

JC said something like "don't touch my drumset", just wondered if it was meant to have any reference to Step Brothers with Will Ferrel.

Good episode and I love the interior of that Jaaag.

May have been in reference to the lorry episode where they had to keep from destroying their precious items. Kind of knew Hammond wasn't going to hit his.
I enjoyed the episode, esp. the news. James has been on top of his game in the jokes department.

Was a decient epsiode, the best bit for me was all the Jaaag stuff  The XF-R looks better than the M5 in my opinion and its more individual (too many M5's around).

The France challenge was pretty decient although it did feel slightly samey in certain places. Hammonds Nissan looked really sweet and modern considering its quite an old car. Launching off the line it looked like supercar material ;)

One thing I wondered, could Hammond just not have swapped the glass roof cover from the passenger side on to the drivers side (just turn it round)?

Clarksons greenhouse thing was classic, its the tipical thing a child would come up with as a solution to c02 emissions, except JC is middle aged!

Sienna was great to have for a change after the slew of men. I didnt realise it was her in this Boss advert being shown alot until she came on the show. Clarkson asking her about playing with a Rabbit was priceless!

Robin.

A lot of TG is now entirely for comedy reasons - it simply wouldn't have been as funny if he didn't suffer :)

I loved Panis' comment about the Marina. Sky+ was worth the extra £30 just to hear that over and over again.

I just watched it back on iplayer, very good episode. Look forward to seeing it a gain in a few years on Dave.

I didn't realise it was her until you posted that video. She is very good looking, if a little self centered.

Still another meh episode. The RWD challenge thing was sort of lame and so was the ice racing. It seems they are running out of ideas when it comes to challenges.

I did like the Jag review though, it's a pretty awesome car.

I'm guessing no, as it's curved to the angle of the front window:

And as it's slightly thicker at one end when you look at it sideways, I don't think it'd fit.

How long do you think it will take before they get in trouble with environmentalists for throwing the roof section into a ravine?

The CO2 solutions were great.

"So how long will those crystals last before they can't absorb any more CO2"

"6 miles!"

The descriptions of Jaaa-a-a-ag drivers reminds me a lot of Lincoln Town Car drivers here in the states.

Episode 6 - Preview

Source: Top Gear Website

For weeks we’ve been telling you about the Tuesday script read-through – that part of the week just one day before the show’s recorded when all the decisions are made – and here, thanks to our Mole, we can finally show you what it looks like.

readthrough.jpg

Glamorous, isn’t it? What you can’t see in shot is the rest of the crew, sat in a circle, crossing things out in heavy biro on the draft running order you can see in our Mole’s hand (the words ‘read through’ conveniently scribbled across the top to avoid confusion).

So what makes the cut this week? Our big two-part film is the challenge we told you about a few week’s back where Jeremy, Richard and James immerse themselves in the world of classic cars.

Armed with a budget of £3,000 each they attempt to buy a pre-1982 car at auction and then head to Majorca for a classic car rally. Hilarity, as ever, ensues.

Also this week, that BMW Z4 film we bumped from last week’s show makes its appearance and AC/DC rock god Brian Johnson will be our star in a reasonably priced car.

That was a fun episode. The surreal opening section with the dinosaurs was worth the effort for me, I know it was completely silly but oh well.
SIARPC was good, Brian Johnson was an entertaining guest and quick too. But the section on the classic rally was pretty cool too, I have to say it would have been nicer if since the whole challenge was skill related if all their cars had run well and the winner was the best, rather than the person whose car had the least faults. Still cool though, I did love seeing all the old machinery. Jeez, I hope for her sake that the James co-driver was playing up the stupid. Not bad looking/distracting but woah, thick as two short planks.
It would be good to see a retospective on the cars that the trio have bought and kept over the seasons, a recap on Oliver perhaps :)
I have been stricken with a not overly sudden desire to buy an MG Midget too.

And just for giggles....

RC: Given that we are made of... What percentage of us is water?

JC: 98%

JM:Well... Less.

RC:So water evaporates. So... what we are breathing is each other.

Wasn't a bad episode, better than most this season. The classic car rally was decent but felt very scripted and wasn't as funny as I would have hoped. That model chick was pretty attractive though. I also like the way Jame modified his car for the rally, pretty cool looking.

I'll be curious to see how this ties in with classics v. modern cars since this is a two part challenge right?

It's 2 am and you've got me rocking out while quiet-laughing like a bloody pterodactyl.

The new episode was alright, I like their use of supermodel. Also, between this week and the last week, I know what we're doing here: We're watching Jeremy Clarkson begin to grow up. First, mending things; now, tasteful modification?

The show really is going downhill. Though, they could very well balance it out with more dinosaurs.
