 That really looks like a zombie Clarkson!

Anyways, what do you do when Top Gear UK is not aired?
I watch the whole series 14 to 18 everyday.

Don't ask me how I got them.

How did you get them?

Anyways, there's some reruns of older seasons on local tv. Always nice to see again.

(Please don't ban me!)

A bit of advice for future;

We all know how to watch it. But we're not allowed to discuss it or share links on the forum. Hope that helps.

Top Gear's Facebook page said that they were in Monaco on this, the weekend of the Monegasque Grand Prix, checking out the new Renault Alpine. Early material for the next series perhaps?

Was just goofing around a bit :P

Hoping for it, anything on Monaco is good. But it was already in an episode not long ago, driving around the track.

Sorry. :indiff:

Liquid: Maybe a review of the car, perhaps? With James May?

When I was watching the Bolivia road trip when the three climbed 17000 ft., my head started to feel painful and woozy. Weird. :odd:

BBC America keeps declaring "Top Gear, all new, Monday night" and every time I get excited and have to tell myself no, not really. But yeah, reruns are nice.

Apparently a few months ago Top Gear were in the town I am closest to with 3 Aston's. Well, Richard Hammond was spotted, apparently. I never saw them.:indiff:

Question -> What is the name of the one way tarmac road on where Hammond drove the Murcielago Roadster in Pamplona, Spain? Vid (S6,E11)

^ I'm just curious, I'm having a hard time on the interwebs... :indiff:

They're showing Top Gear USA on BBC Three over here at the minute and it's so much better than what the UK version has become. The presenters don't force their comedy or their interaction with each other and the challenges are fun and don't feel too set up like the UK ones do. I'm really enjoying it. Tanner Foust is easily my favourite of the presenters although Rutledge can be pretty funny at times. 👍

Just some news on the grapevine (Chris Evans phoned May up) and the Christmas Special, which will be shown in February, will take place on a mountain... I forget which one.

Also a Pan European race for the new series. Jeremy in a car and the other two in public transport, like usual.

Does anyone know when the new series starts? It's been ages since we had some new top gear on.

Also seen an advert for the top gear special about the 50 years of James Bond cars. That should be good.

I believe Jeremy Clarkson has said that no new series will be broadcast until 2013. They may not even start filming until next year. The show typically has twelve episodes a year - six at the start, and six at the end - but for 2012, the producers and presenters decided to take a break and only air six at the start.

I read from Jeremy Clarkson on Facebook something along the lines of a christmas special in Februrary? I seem to recall a few years back, they did a christmas special right before a new series, I don't remember if it was the following year of that christmas, I'm sure its on wikipedia.

That is true. There is a 'Christmas' Special being aired in February, with the new series to follow sometime after that. Could be March, could be February. Could be the summer.

The show has been on hiatus because it competes with terrible shows like The X Factor according to Clarkson, but it's probably also a reason to give themselves some breathing space to reflect on their last couple of series.

I liked old Top Gear; practical advice and casually informative.

By extension, anything by Jeremy Clarkson in the 1990s was good, before he became an international, delibrately controversial marmite figure. He seems to find it hard sometimes to not be in character in front of a camera on other shows. Could you imagine how vastly different Motorworld, Inventions That Changed The World and Extreme Machines would be if they were made by him today?

That's why he plays the caricature he is today. He has said it himself. He tried to to other things and people didn't like it. I loved those shows but he says they weren't a success. People just want to see him shout "ppooooooowwwweeerrrrrr". He has just finally given in and accepted it.
Personally I don't mind it as I know it is a caricature, but I did prefer the old Jeremy.

This American disagrees. Clarkson Hammond and May are brilliant. I don't even watch the American attempt. Saw about 15 minutes worth once and it seemed amateurish... Food Network Travel show style, where everything encounters is the greatest possible ______ (insert noun). I suppose I could give them another shot, but there is plenty of the UK version on my television as well as free on demand episodes.

Link

I guess it'll bridge the gap between the 2 seasons, plus it's a cool and rather fitting way to do it.

Top Gear in name only I think.

I think it is basically a Richard Hammond does Bond Cars, but that won't be really popular. If they call it top gear however.

That's what I gauged from the advert. I didn't even know it was a Top Gear special until the end of it either, but it's good enough for me.

It would have been better if one of the other 2 guys presented it though, that is if Hammond really is the only one in this one.

After seeing the advert, I don't think that one should call it a Top Gear Special, but more of a James Bond Special who's presenter happens to be Richard Hammond. I'll be watching this.

Thanks for the news!

Yeah, the hamster's getting weak, but after his accident I can't judge him too harshly.

And while I can complain about how TG has weakened over the years (did like some of the more .... pedestrian ... nature of the 1st version, and in the first 8 or so series of this iteration I was blown away by the music selection consistently, and now not at all), still, I've got time to watch some stuff, and even Hammond-only-TGish specials still beat most alternatives. I'll watch.
