Update 1.07 now up

I'm not so fond of the idea. I don't dupe at all, so that part doesn't affect me. But this effectively ends being able to trade like-valued (albeit higher priced) cars. That means I can no longer trade one rally car for another; I can't trade one race car for another, etc.

I wasn't expecting much of an update this time around, so I only really cared that they fixed the reply issue, but this raise my hackles:
Polyphony
- Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system.
I'd like to know what they were up to when forcing this down our throats. First off, what were the issues with trading with expensive cars? I don't check the trading scenes, but I'd imagine that the majority of trades are regarding the expensive cars such as the LM and the Formula's are what people trade, not cars with not much value in them. Secondly, this is an incredibly poor way to stop the duping issues. Banning everyone from trading cars that most gamers drive nowadays doesn't work as it punish even honest players who don't dupe at all and absolutely don't advocate it. Finally, borrowing cars between friends will not work. They should realize that once your friends borrow a car, you don't get it back until they return it to you, which we have no way of controlling.

This is going to negatively affect the GT online community and Polyphony better explain now why they made such a move.

Dupers are NOT going to be happy.

I'd like to see a geniune reason this is bad that doesn't involve duping. Why else would people send 1million+ cars if they weren't duping them to keep hold of it.

Are you new here or something? People have been trading million credit cars since the very beginning. Just back then, people traded multiple cars for one.

Wow, this is ********.

You make it damn near impossible to get cars if you just want some fun and then you make it impossible to get it an easy way. **** that, truly.

Oh, and then there is the fact that this prevents anyone from enjoying the only "legitimate" aspect of trading, which is trading valuable cars that you could not otherwise buy. This simply has not been well thought through, weow.

I gifted a friend the F1 2007 so he could use it in seasonal event #7. Are you seriously telling me I cant get it back now? WTF!!!

I'm in the same boat as you my friend. FML...

You can't stop the duping if there is save back-up... Unless each and every car you buy, has a serial number... and it can't be duplicated! hmm, thats a good idea!

Virtual VIN numbers, nice!

You forget the system in GT5 is NOT a trading system. It's a gifting system.

But without duping the person sending the car would be losing it. Who is really going to do that? The only people sending 1mil+ cars were dupers that didn't actually lose them.

People who have been trading since the beginning I would imagine.

I sent my Chaparral 2J out to several people to do races, and all I asked in return was from them was a set of tires or an engine rebuild on it.

Which is all the more reason that this update is spiteful. They might as well scrap the whole damn thing.

Yes! Cars are worth something now!
Im happy because you can still borrow cars like I do and cars are now worth something.
Um, no. Now cars over a million are literally worth nothing, and cars under a million are going to be just as worthless as they were before.

*facepalm*

When PD tries to "fix" anything they always screw it up! Honestly.. Saves were locked, they rightfully unlocked them so people wouldn't lose hundreds of hours put into the game.. oops, this enabled duping.. now they're cracking down on that and nerfing legit trades! What's the point? They should just remove the whole gifting thing if it's such a horrible, "cheating", looked down on activity in GT now.

I'm surprised they used the word "trading" when it's not an official feature. There are still plenty of good cars under 1000000 but this is really stupid.

PD doesn't care about duping. Ebay is the problem.

True. This seems like a reaction to people putting up X2010s on E-Bay for money.

Funny thing, isn't it... that so many people are predicting a storm of complaints about the trade limit, that most of the posts on the topic are complaints about "duping?"

I am sick of all this whining about duping, as is the rest of the moderating staff. Any further posts that even mention the word will be deleted.

Good job, PD. I loaned out my only racing car a few weeks ago. Good thing I got it back before the 1.07 update.

Think they could have added some new events to sugarcoat things. Nerfing multiple accounts is fine by me, but most people I know had gone that route to try and get more distance out of the game (e.g. running A-Spec and seasonals over again on another account).

Everyone back to grinding now, and no new events to do it in. X2010 round Indy anyone? Damn.

Pretty sure PD meant ebaying GT5 cars. So much for saving money by backup save, buy car, gift car, reload save, and gift back. Sucks for people who have a life outside of GT5. Remote B-spec will be well used unless they change this back.

Why? It's just discussion and arguing, one of the primary uses for communication and an even more important aspect of online forums, oh wait, the only one.

Not the first time everyone have suffered because of the abuses of a few. I gotta be honest, I 'ed when I saw the update :)

1st PD don't give us a way to win 90% of all expensive cars, because ammount of events are lame and so is the most of the prize cars.
Now they've killed the trading. Way to go PD, show how you love your fans once again.

P.S.
I actually don't care, since i've got a bunch of X1s and have every expensive car that i wanted for a quite some time now, but still...

What Crack are you on?

Stats in the B spec drivers lounge/area are updated in real time now. When you receive your money and xp, it is reflected at the moment.

I wouldn't mind this update if they didn't screw with the UCD rotation. At least then I can plan ahead a bit and collect enough money whenever something I wanted came by, but for them to add in new colors they screwed the entire rotation for whatever reason.

Instead of trading, I now have to completely rely on the UCD
