You make it damn near impossible to get cars if you just want some fun and then you make it impossible to get it an easy way. **** that, truly.

Oh, and then there is the fact that this prevents anyone from enjoying the only "legitimate" aspect of trading, which is trading valuable cars that you could not otherwise buy. This simply has not been well thought through, weow.

I don't mind that they killed it, but it will certainly limit my online participation with my friends who have many stratospherically-priced cars. It will literally take months for me to attain any kind of wealth (the levels attained early on by some are essentially out of reach) as I only have a few hours a week for GT. That sucks.

I've unfortunately been very busy since the release of GT, and feel like I'm being penalized for not playing immediately-first you could do unlimited gifting, then limited, now just lower end cars. PD helps out by giving nice prize money and boosting the EXP for the first few seasonals, now the rewards are pretty frugal.

I missed all of these early 'bonuses'. It's one thing to be behind because I don't have much time, but it's another thing entirely to bury me in a hole-my friends can't even throw me a bone anymore, so I can hop in a race car or F1 now and then? Ouch.

I usually log out of the PSN when I do an endurance race. I didn't this time because I didn't think a patch would come out. I've heard of people saying it kicks them out of races when a patch is released. I am at the halfway point of the Nurburgring 4 hours. Is it going to mess up when the race finishes and kick me to the mandatory update screen or do you think it's safe for me to continue and finish?

Should be. My experience has been that it just logs you out and cripples any online functionality but allows you to continue playing. There were a couple of times that happened to me during B-Spec grinding to 40 in the endurance events.

You will have to manually sync/update your trophies from the XMB but your progress is really in the save game on your PS3.

It will hurt only new players of course. All people who wanted their X1/20m cars got them long ago already.
Also people who think that those 20m cars would be rare now... Think again, but don't forget the fact, that 6.3m copies already sold and bday glitch were discovered a few days after release.
It's too late now. So they could've leave it as it were already and fix it in GT6.

This has done it in for me, first you can trade any car you want but now if it cost a million or more it is a no go. Now there is no doubt about after 5+ years PD has done nothing more than develop the biggest POS that has been put on a gaming console!

Well, you certainly seem to think you have the right to tell me how to play the game that I bought, which is quite odd because you weren't the one who paid for my copy. Asking for compensation seems like a perfectly reasonable reaction to me if you want to act like you should rule over my playing habits.

That would be clever if you had actually been reading my posts instead of assuming I was talking about how this update is enough for me to want to get rid of the game. I haven't even been online with GT5 since the end of January, and I honestly never traded back when I was. This update literally has no effect on me. That isn't the point.

Not a duper or trader, but I have a whole bunch of cars repeated that can't be sold and was thinking trading them for a white X2010. Oh well.

I love the game, appreciate what has PD and Kaz done, but I can't seem to keep the nagging feeling on the back of the mind, that we're all beta testers, the game has too many quirks.

I wanted to buy one of those expensive historic racing cars worth Cr. 20,000,000 when I had enough, but decided not to. Seeing your Cr. amount go from 20mil to 0 is mentally and virtually cringeworthy, hehe.

Seriously, seeing all your Cr. disappear with the purchase of one car just does something to a man. Can make you cry, Ha! It's like going bankrupt or being screwed over by Bernie Madoff.

Who cares about the value of cars is just a game, the whole point of the game is to drive cars that u will never be able to drive in real life. and now after this update you couldent drive it in the virtual world either.

I am in the 9 hours of Tsukuba right now (got a lead with my FGT as I absolutely refuse to drive the x2010 as it instills bad driving habits and am sitting idle for a few) and was in the middle of it when the update popped.

Just hit circle to get out of it and download it later after you finish!

I have an issue with the people who are acting like they should be the ones who dictate how everyone else plays the game when in reality it is none of their business whatsoever.
My only specific issue with this update (aside from how stupid it is for PD to be focusing on this instead of literally anything else in the game) is that it makes all those people start talking again.

I never assumed anything, just a suggestion for you, others.

Yay! The X1 is no longer the default currency for the game, but I'd give the marketplace forum about a week before it dies off. I'm all for actually saving up for an expensive car, but I really don't enjoy grinding Indy for 6 hours until my thumbs cramp and my eyes explode. Credits need to be more attainable, the end. I think PD just dug their pit of despair a little deeper.

Just tried sending the Nissan GT-R Concept LM Race Car & it's under the 1 mil limit according to granturismo.net(998,775cr). It says the car is not able to be gifted to a friend. Tried to send the Nissan YellowHat YMS TOMICA GT-R (SUPER GT) '08(950,000cr) & it's fine.

Nope, it saying

Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system.

If car were sent to someone and he didn't got it from a ticket, it will be listed as a ticket. For example i have a few X1 tickets. So that ticket worth 20m, but level xx ticket or a bday ticket giving a random car, so in theory they should be tradeable.

Thankyou. I finally managed to logon and have a look.

One thing I still wonder, one of the level tickets must be over/under the cutoff of 1,000,000.

(Just guessing here) what if the Level 12 ticket's cars are half over and half under the limit? I'd assume they'd ban trading of any ticket that could possible result in a car over the limit.
