Damn, who hurt you?

I note with disgust that two weeks after the premiere I got bored of playing Gran Turismo 7. The very thought that I would have to drive like an idiot hundreds of times over and over again to buy new cars and tuning parts makes me sick. Actually, I probably regret buying the digital version of the GT7 game because I would have already resold it.

There was going to be a revolution, there was going to be fireworks, the promised hundreds of cars and so what? there is no point in playing without microtransactions. Waste of time.

Kazunori Yamauchi, I can't enjoy the cars because to unlock them without micropayments, I would have to become a slave to this game. I don't know if you can count but if the car costs 12,000,000 rubles (this is what I call these unfortunate credits from today) I have to play for over 14 hours to buy it. It is absurd, tormenting, and has nothing to do with your words written to everyone. Are the car prices in the game supposed to reflect the real ones? Man, this is a virtual game that is supposed to enjoy and have fun, not tire players with playing for 14 hours to buy a virtual car 💩💩💩

Rubles lol I say we hold a mass protest, and all don't log in to the game for a week hell even uninstall it, they will know the monitor All your console activity. Don't play the game as a silent protest
Seeing the direction they're taking, I've already started. I can't even bring myself to watch my favourite streamers play it with the unscrupulous black cloud I can see hanging over it all the time.

The only answer is a U turn but with the cash cow microtransactions, I'm not going to hold me breath. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for the rest of the £60 game I paid for either. A game I was told would be the best ever, only to see it's going to be drip fed to me over the next few years and that I should have patience while it's happening? Life's too short for that crap.

The silver lining is that now PD have slapped the fan boy out of me, i'll finally get to see how the other half live on the PC.

I didn't think I would ever say it, yet after today I'm looking forward to see what Forza 8 can bring. Hopefully the Series X will be available in stores here by then. The more I try having fun in GT7, the more I start to hate it. I wanted to drive the Sauber C9 around N24, yet can't bring myself to grind any longer.

The AI is just moronic and the payouts are an insult. Clean race bonus is gone when the AI rams you, with 19 cars to pass that speed up as soon as you come alongside to dive right into you or the next AI car you're stuck behind. Braking in random spots and way too much (50 kph through the dipper, painful) The more you have to repeat the annoying campaign races the worse the game makes itself look.

People will just be doing that anyway. You think the casual folks are going to be sticking around with this game for years like people claim the game is intended, or even months? Nope.

Gtplanet don't just take their side we the community need to know you Stand with us

🤷‍♂️
you need to change your review
We've never gone back and changed a review of any game ever, in either direction. Every review has always reflected the game in "day one" state (in this case v1.04). Why do we "need" to do it this time?
Yes, they have to.
No, we don't - and we didn't any of the first 17 times you said it either. Find a new dead horse to flog, please.

PD its your call, and Gtplanet don't just take their side we the community need to know you Stand with us, you need to change your review maybe re do it in 6 months to a year as live games truly suck

Yes, they have to.

Because GTP have been betryed by revealing the MTX like 2 days after the reviews were finished.
I like GTPlanet's position the way that it is. Their articles are politically neutral and fact-based, more so than many other video game news sources as far as I can tell. Changing their original review would not only be ineffective but ultimately it would undermine GTPlanet's carefully cultivated position of neutrality which in my opinion is more important than them sticking it to Sony and Polyphony.

If we as a community really want to voice our outrage, we should do exactly what we have been doing which is: writing user reviews on review aggregate cites such as Metacritic, Voicing our frustration on social media cites and forums AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, not playing the game. If Polyphony can't keep players playing their game, they WILL take notice. I have and will continue to do all of this, I hope others will do the same. We as a community have a tremendous amount of power against shady business practices like this as long as we can stick together.

Well, this update kinda stinks. Those Gr.4 races were nice moneymakers with the CR bonus.

But I also haven't played since Wednesday because it feels like there's very little content. There's nothing to keep the dopamine flow going - you're just repeating the same events over and over and over. I don't know how many times I did Gr.4 HSR and Trial Mountain from WTC700.

Custom race payouts are still pitiful, too. Those probably would have kept me going if the money wasn't complete garbage and there were tire options.

Guess I'll wait for the first major content update.

With GT7 seemingly going up in flames, I've been revisiting GT5 and 6 and just discovered the Master Mod versions of each, which include the ability to unlock traditional LAN network play.

Obviously, modding a console isn't something most people want to do - even a console two generations out of date - but it's not the only option. If you have a gaming PC from the last half decade, you'll probably find that you can run the game in RCPS3 and once the game is 'installed' through the emulator, you can just drag and drop the mod files into the emulators install directory for the game and then load it as normal.

While performance is touchy at best (I get maybe 20 - 30fps at the moment on a 4790k / Vega64), the more powerful your rig the fewer issues you'll have. Combine RCPS3, the LAN option, and virtual LAN software for PC's and you've got a great base for a mini-revival. It's even possible to crossplay between RCPS3 and actual PS3 hardware, for anyone running the mod on console.

Obviously, I'm not condoning piracy here but if you have a copy of either game - and a decent rig - maybe give it a look. There's footage online of people running the games at a smooth 60fps (which they rarely hit in practice on the PS3 itself) while also upscaling to 4k, which leaves them looking pretty damn good - even by todays standards.

Real take, but of the past 10 roulette tickets i've received, of various stars between 1-4, has been 5,000 credits EVERY time.

I hope i'm not the only one experiencing this run of 'bad luck'.
Usually, I have 5,000-10,000 rubles 🤣 from coupons. Sometimes some junk sports brakes and a suspension for a car that I'm not even going to buy fell into it. Yes, yes ... parts are assigned to cars and if you do not have one, you can throw this part away because you cannot sell it. Total misunderstanding.

Greatest reward has been 10,000 credits a few times. No cars, no parts. And the fact the tickets have a 'time limit' as well...

Exactly. No publication should change their review unless it was not an accurate representation of the state of the game at that time (which would be weird to begin with). Additional reviews/articles with changed perception: sure. But you don't falsify history, for obvious reasons.

I wouldn’t say so. GTP is allowing frank and open discussion on the forums. I appreciate GTP very much for that.

The disappointment should be directed at the company that made the game, not the reviewers who were given a specific build to assess.

The community, which GTP has fostered, can take it from here by voicing their displeasure in hopes of effecting change.

Thank you, GTP.

Agree with this. But some are going overboard as many have, using terms like "slavery". That is hyperbole and only shows ignorance of context. Doesn't help at all. Can we please make an equal effort to stop that as well.

Absolutely. Of course this behavior is 100% uncalled for. Personal attacks, hyperbole, and other extreme reactions are wrong and immature. However I am not a moderator and can only ignore things like this while shaking my head. It is just a video game after all.
