Since PD is a business, I would say that they are most probably on vacation now. No reason to deploy an update and have to fix any bugs during christmas. I believe this was the reason for the "missing" update during summer as well. Vacations.

Let’s go out on a limb here on speculation...

Track:
Isle of Man TT

Cars:
Ferrari FXX ‘07 (Gr. X - GT6 return)
Ferrari FXX K ‘14 (Gr. X - new to GT)
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ‘09 (N600 - GT6 return)
Ford GT ‘17 (N700 - new to GT)
Ford GT Le Mans (Ford Chip Ganassi Team) ‘16 (Gr. 3 - new to GT)
Toyota Supra ‘20 (N400 - new to GT)
Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo ‘96 (N300 - GT6 return, but new super premium)
Honda Civic Type R ‘97 (N200 - GT6 return)
Nissan 370Z NISMO ‘14 (N400 - new to GT as NISMO spec)
Bugatti Chiron ‘18 (N1000 - new to GT)

Events:
Circuit Experience for Tokyo Expressway - South added.
Track-only cars race series in Professional League events featuring Zonda R, FXX, P1-GTR, et al.
New Gr. 3 endurance featuring Nurburgring 24H.
Additional events for Gr. 4 series, Japanese J-sports series and Real Circuit Tours added.

Fixed some of these for you.

Cars above 1100hp and perhaps more remain in N1000, evidence of this is that a fully upgraded Bugatti Veyron in the game will have up to 1135hp and remain in N1000.

In this case, even if a Bugatti Chiron has 1479hp it will remain in N1000.

That would be an amazing update...
Maybe Pikes Peak for Isle of Man would be more believable since they have the licence, and just as great.

Isle of Man TT

It would be a huge update to GT Sport, I expect that something like that would be released during the second half of 2019 or in a Spec 2.0 update, followed with other features such as Course Maker.

Regarding Spa Francorchamps, I think that the possible reason about why we haven't seen this track on GTS is because PD could be re-working this track and it could return as "Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 2018". Due to the collaboration between Gran Turismo and FIA, PD may replace the 2010 CdS-F with the 2018 one or can separate both tracks like they did with Circuit de la Sarthe 2005, 2010 and 2013.

Taking time off work is considered unhonorable in Japan. 7 to 10 days a year, max! Since they don’t celebrate Xmas (surprise surprise) I find it highly unlikely that they would be on vacation.

I worked in Japan a bit. I asked for Christmas off one year and was denied. And to top it off a rumor was spread around that I was some kind of hardcore Christian that need to pray at church on Christmas day.

A weird one from PD is, the FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship 2015 Season Review. Why would they include that particular video? Has nothing to do with this game. The only cars we have or similar to the ones in that video are, the Fiat 500 and the Pantera(which is a Mangusta in the video).
Renault R5 Turbo Rally car could make a return as that's missing from Renault's Gr. B Brand Central. Another, could be the 935. Maybe the slantnose does come in the form of the 930 turbo road car, other than the 935 Moby Dick race car.

Again, another post assuming that they will release an update within a specific period. Why do people keep doing this? Infact, to go back to my post on the second page, why do people keep speculating at all?!
They have as long as they want to release a new update in and don't owe you, me or anyone else any specifics regarding it or to stick to any fantasy schedule people seem to revel in constructing.
It’s a video game forum, people like to chat and speculate, it’s part of the fun. We’ve been getting roughly monthly updates. The next update could be with us within a week. It depends how the Christmas holidays have disrupted their schedule.

I'm hoping there is still a small team at PD already in the production (or pre production) phase of GT7. It really does seem like all hand still on deck for GTSport. Which is both good and bad.
I would expect most of the team are full hands on deck with GT7. Content creation (cars & tracks) will be dual purpose for GT Sport and GT7. Even then I doubt we are getting everything they produce. Obviously plenty of content will be 10%, 25%, 50% complete with a target completion date ready for GT7.

Then you have game designers who’ll be working on (we hope) the CaRPG aspect of GT7. I certainly doubt we’ll see any fundamental game structure changes to GT Sport.

Then again it would be nice if most/all the cars and tracks of GT Sport was in the next Gran Turismo.

I like you, man. I really do. But you could just ignore the thread altogether if speculation isn't your thing. I stay out of threads that don't interest me and it's worked out pretty well.

A team in PD must be testing out an PS5 Dev kits, hopefully at PSX next year we get a PS5 announcement with a Tech Demo with Polyphony.

Release in 2021 (4 years) GT7 or rumored as "GT World Tour" released with PS5 or a year later like GT3. Best case scenario for PD and hope they don't do a GT6 instead.

They didn't separate Monza or Red Bull Ring, for example, despite making some updates between versions so I doubt they would do it with Spa.

They won't need to re-work the track that much...

All the 3D assets created for GTSport will be re-used for the next GT. Obviously, they have to rework some tracks (Circuit de Sainte-Croix looks very poor in terms of assets, more generally vegetation can be improved a lot).

IMO, Poly is working at full steam on the next GT. Each update brings more tracks and cars but never more features like Clubs, diaporama, photo mode options, 3d garage view... And at the end, it's OK. GTSport is a 20 euros game with no microtransaction model like GTA. They have to move on and at the same time they can't abandon GTSport players.

Ehh because they like to? i never said they owe me anything etc not sure why you keep getting worked up like that.

I think I love Japan.

Thing is, with the constant updates and the live championships -- this must take a considerable effort. I hope they've mostly shifted their focus on GT7. Hopefull within the first 2 years of PS5 we will see it.

I would like to see cockpit for the cars still missing it, especially the Toyota SF-R Racing Concept, which I want to drive more, but the missing cockpit just leave the SF-R as a garage decoration. PD know we all want those classic tracks, and no need to name them all here, but they will come, no doubt about that. More Tokyo layouts would be appreciated. I really can't put it into words how much I want the Toyota AE86 (SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX verison), and I really believe it will show up sooner or later. More 80's and 90's road cars are also welcome.

I really hope you're right. Undoubtedly the demand for the classic tracks are huge, it's hard for PD to ignore it. As a Brazilian, I honestly never thought they would add Interlagos at some point. I mean, I clearly remember when the request for this track was also popular, but basically only by Brazilian players, and yet PD put it into GT Sport. What I'm trying to say is: there's no way for PD to get rid of adding their classic tracks in a future update, because the demand this time is not only by Brazilians, but basically by everyone else. Plus, they're original tracks, which means no licenses, which means no possible complications. So... what are you guys waiting for? Does anyone here have a theory about why these tracks are taking so long to return since 90% of the players want them back?

There’s no reason to believe that the original Gran Turismo tracks won’t make it in at some point. We know that they’ve at least worked on Deep Forest per that interview with Kaz a year ago. I’d be very surprised if none of them, especially Deep Forest, ended up making it into the game.

I think the time is right to bring back more models having series dedicated to them in GT League, such as the Audi TT, Mazda Roadster, Mazda (rotary engines) and Renault Clio. To this date most of these series are basically one-make in GTS, which is kind of boring when there are plenty of suitable cars in the back catalogue.

Premium in GT6 but currently not in GTS.
2003 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro
2007 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro
2009 Audi TTS Coupe
1989 Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package)
1991 Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA)
2007 Mazda Roadster RS (NC)
1991 Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD)
2007 Mazda RX-8 Type S
2000 Renault Sport Clio V6 24V
2011 Renault Sport Clio R.S.

These are not the actual cars I expect to see in the next update, but one or two of them would certainly help fleshing out some things in GT League.

That's very Gran Turismo. 3 TT's, 3 Mazda MX-5's and 2 more Renault Clio's.

PD have multiple studios around the world and Kaz is on the PS board. No doubt PD are already playing with PS5 as are most of SCE's 1st party.Pretty sure third parties may be in the know as well.
