Since PD is a business, I would say that they are most probably on vacation now. No reason to deploy an update and have to fix any bugs during christmas. I believe this was the reason for the "missing" update during summer as well. Vacations.
Taking time off work is considered unhonorable in Japan. 7 to 10 days a year, max! Since they don’t celebrate Xmas (surprise surprise) I find it highly unlikely that they would be on vacation.
It’s a video game forum, people like to chat and speculate, it’s part of the fun. We’ve been getting roughly monthly updates. The next update could be with us within a week. It depends how the Christmas holidays have disrupted their schedule.Again, another post assuming that they will release an update within a specific period. Why do people keep doing this? Infact, to go back to my post on the second page, why do people keep speculating at all?!
They have as long as they want to release a new update in and don't owe you, me or anyone else any specifics regarding it or to stick to any fantasy schedule people seem to revel in constructing.
I would expect most of the team are full hands on deck with GT7. Content creation (cars & tracks) will be dual purpose for GT Sport and GT7. Even then I doubt we are getting everything they produce. Obviously plenty of content will be 10%, 25%, 50% complete with a target completion date ready for GT7.I'm hoping there is still a small team at PD already in the production (or pre production) phase of GT7. It really does seem like all hand still on deck for GTSport. Which is both good and bad.
Then again it would be nice if most/all the cars and tracks of GT Sport was in the next Gran Turismo. It’s a video game forum, people like to chat and speculate, it’s part of the fun. Then you have game designers who’ll be working on (we hope) the CaRPG aspect of GT7. I certainly doubt we’ll see any fundamental game structure changes to GT Sport.

I’m pretty sure they will. All of the cars and tracks are apparently “future proof”.Then again it would be nice if most/all the cars and tracks of GT Sport was in the next Gran Turismo.

They didn't separate Monza or Red Bull Ring, for example, despite making some updates between versions so I doubt they would do it with Spa.Regarding Spa Francorchamps, I think that the possible reason about why we haven't seen this track on GTS is because PD could be re-working this track and it could return as "Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 2018". Due to the collaboration between Gran Turismo and FIA, PD may replace the 2010 CdS-F with the 2018 one or can separate both tracks like they did with Circuit de la Sarthe 2005, 2010 and 2013.
They won't need to re-work the track that much...Regarding Spa Francorchamps, I think that the possible reason about why we haven't seen this track on GTS is because PD could be re-working this track and it could return as "Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 2018". All the 3D assets created for GTSport will be re-used for the next GT. Obviously, they have to rework some tracks (Circuit de Sainte-Croix looks very poor in terms of assets, more generally vegetation can be improved a lot).I'm hoping there is still a small team at PD already in the production (or pre production) phase of GT7. Ehh because they like to? i never said they owe me anything etc not sure why you keep getting worked up like that.Again, another post assuming that they will release an update within a specific period. I think I love Japan.I worked in Japan a bit. I asked for Christmas off one year and was denied. And to top it off a rumor was spread around that I was some kind of hardcore Christian that need to pray at church on Christmas day.
A team in PD must be testing out an PS5 Dev kits, hopefully at PSX next year we get a PS5 announcement with a Tech Demo with Polyphony.
Release in 2021 (4 years) GT7 or rumored as "GT World Tour" released with PS5 or a year later like GT3. Best case scenario for PD and hope they don't do a GT6 instead.

IMO, Poly is working at full steam on the next GT. Each update brings more tracks and cars but never more features like Clubs, diaporama, photo mode options, 3d garage view... And at the end, it's OK. GTSport is a 20 euros game with no microtransaction model like GTA. They have to move on and at the same time they can't abandon GTSport players.
PD know we all want those classic tracks, and no mention to name them all here, but they will come, no doubt about that.
We've all been crying out for this car.I really can't put it into words how much I want the Toyota AE86 (SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX verison), and I really believe it will show up sooner or later.
That's very Gran Turismo. 3 TT's, 3 Mazda MX-5's and 2 more Renault Clio's.I think the time is right to bring back more models having series dedicated to them in GT League, such as the Audi TT, Mazda Roadster, Mazda (Wankel rotary engines) and Renault Clio. To this date most of these series are basically one-make in GTS, which is kind of boring when there are plenty of suitable cars in the back catalogue.
Premium in GT6 but currently not in GTS.
2003 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro
2007 Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro
2009 Audi TTS Coupe
1989 Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package)
1991 Mazda Eunos Roadster J-Limited (NA)
2007 Mazda Roadster RS (NC)
1991 Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD)
2007 Mazda RX-8 Type S
2000 Renault Sport Clio V6 24V
2011 Renault Sport Clio R.S.
These are not the actual cars I expect to see in the next update, but one or two of them would certainly help fleshing out some things in GT League.
PD have multiple studios around the world and Kaz is on the PS board. No doubt PD are already playing with PS5 as are most of SCE's 1st party.Pretty sure third parties may be in the know as well.
