I think this is part one of a two part silhouette release. Basing this on the fact that usually there was a week spread from the time update gets announced until the update is released. This time it’s 12 days from announcement to release. Seems odd... stay tuned.

Though it is unusual I highly doubt it. I don't see a reason to add more cars than the month before + we already had the situation when there was an announce meint of an update with 12 new cars. It was the December Update in 2017.

I love it when a car arrives that I’ve either owned or driven. Parted company with this beauty about 10 years ago

In the Intellectual Properties Document in GT Sport, there are trademarks for the Acura and Land Rover Brand. And also for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, Murcielago LP640, Murcielago LP670-4 SV, Reventon, Diablo GT1, Diablo GT2 and Countach 25th Anniversary. Aswell as for the Pagani Huayra, Autobacs Garaiya and Shelby GT350... so could these brands/cars come back?

Well the GT350 is coming back so...

You will see.

Some licenses are obtained even though they wouldn't appear in the game unless a DLC puts it to use. Land Rovers have appeared in GT but the license could have been obtained at the same time because Land Rover is under the same corporate family as Jaguar.

Huh 2 cars I predicted showed up (and it would've been 3 if I didn't decide against the Z8 in revisions of my lists)? Honestly a way higher hit rate than I ever expected. I'm sure I'll have fun with the cars, and really excited about the GT350 and Speed Six, but I don't know how "usefull" they'll really be. As for the track; I'm thinking either Silverstone or the Ascari Race Resort. Silverstone has a lot of history and Ascari was always a great place to take photos of older cars, and with this is one of the collectively older groups of cars being added both would be fitting. I still don't think S** is coming because I would think PD would save a track like that like they did for Le Mans, a big themed update before a major event.

Oh never thought of that. But at least the have the Land Rover License...

Personally not too bothered with the lack of race cars. We already have enough of them. I'd rather PD focus on balancing the BOP (see this week's race at Sarthe) of the existing cars rather than adding new ones.

What I find odd though is they skipped one year's car each from SEMA and Pebble Beach:

SEMA Award Winners
Pebble Beach Award Winners
Could mean PD are saving them for the next GT? If so there's a good chance they are also keeping a lot other cars close to their chest (aka what we see in GTS is just the tip of the iceberg compared to what's in GT7/8).
That... That is some serious prediction!
As the GT official website goes, all of the awarded cars in SEMA and Pebble Beach are supposed to be in GT franchise, but if we check what we have now...
SEMA cars before 2012 are in GT6 but GTS is waiting for their appearance, while Pebble Beach cars are coming these months.

No Swedish, Czech, Russian, Australian, Chinese, Spanish or Dutch cars either.

Your point?
PD tends to add some Japanese cars, some European cars (at least one Germans or Italians) and some US cars in every update.
That's how speculation works.
In fact, I'm expecting Volvo or the new Polestar, or even Saab but I'm doubting about that.

Yes, it's very early or in another way the update is relatively late, it's the longest gap we've ever seen.
Yet a second silhouette isn't that much... hmm... practical. You know PD is a *small* studio, and I believe they could only be less productive than what they had been in 2018 as some of them must be working on the possible GT*7*.
Anyway, it is a good update.

I feel like the reason they are free is because the existing option of using real money to buy the cars (below 2.000.000 credit limit) from the PS Store.

If we've had that option since release, I could sort of see your reasoning.

The mentioning of the credits (well, the "Notice of Intellectual Property" to be correct) got me to actually go into the menu to see if I can sus out some other things. One thing it has managed do is confirm that the Shelby we're getting in this update is the road going GT350 and not the GT350R. Slight bummer, but still excited for it because it (Sorta) completes the Shelby trio for me.

This update has been many days anticipated considering the release date confronted the previous ones (most of them) , so I think we could have another teaser related to the track...

IR

As far as "new" tracks go it´s new originals > returning originals > new real world tracks > returning real world tracks for me.

So while Spa would be nice - anything else would have me more excited really.

For me personally I hope to see Twin Ring Motegi again. It haves 4 layouts + optionally the oval too !

Edit ; To be honest, just like Tsukuba, in the beginning when I drove my first laps on those tracks, Tsukuba a few years earlier ofcourse, I thought it were fictional racing tracks... :D

I’d expect a track teaser later this week, or maybe even within 24 hours or so, since the update is still quite a bit down the road.

I expect a new track a long side the 8 cars.
But i wounder what track, deep Forest, laguna seca, silverstone, spa,
Sometimes we don't get teasers for tracks, we might Only see it if the drop a trailer for the new update
I have that suspicion too for the same reasons. Maybe the other pack is full of supercars and racecars as many want. Two 8 car packs, plus the Supra, plus a good track would be a helluva update.

More probably to DPereira_2909 said a few pages ago
