Anyone get an update 2.70 i did out of no where? is this old? it said June 18 or something like that

yea i just got it myself, the update text said a few things like being able to do text chats with friends while in a game... hooray? and a bunch of other random ish. Nothing really major although the text chat thing is probably going to be useful.

Just heard my PS3, download complete.... going to check it out.

As it is now possible to attach a file up to 3mb in your message.. is it possible then to send a replay to a friend? Anyone willing to try this?? (can't try myself, I'm at work )

(edit, I see.. I guess it's has been possible to attach a file for a long time.. (just 1mb)) The question still remains.. can you send a replay in a message?

I don't know if the update changed anything, but last time I tried it only let me send pictures (Tried an .mp3 file).

And the text chat feature will come in handy to set up times to match up with your friends in GT5P.

Yes. You can even connect your wireless keyboard/mouse dongles and those will work fine as well.

Not surprising really, imagine what people would send to each other if you could do it. Sadly because of potential missuse, it will probably never be possible, infact I am surprised they let you send pictures.

I thought that may be a cool addition too, however there are loads of complaints already, it censores what you say and you can only use a very limited number of characters per message. 👎 One word it apparantly doesn't let you say is "peter", very confusing.

Well, here's one... Let's say you and one of your friends want to play together. Instead of sending messages, you can chat in real time to set up a time to start matching so you both end up in the same race. Of course, this is more useful specially when you want to set up matching times with more than one friend (It's a quicker process to type it in a chat room than sending a message to all of them).

Hopefully this update will replace all the stupid forums, and websites that insist on using things such as teamspeak, or in GTP case the chat crap that requires you to use a laptop in conjunction with your PS3. Now it can all be done from your PS3, without hassle. I hope Im right for the sake of good racing and longevity of the Gran Turismo series.

Your not missing much to be honest, the text chat censors everything and the other features are nearly useless, so I wouldn't be too upset. The only thing it will be good for is what Coxis pointed out.
