VCRC vintage & low power :: Sunday 3pm GMT / 10am US EST

 I love people's signatures like that. Nice one!

So you've earned a free cake but you have to go to Ireland to get it:lol:

Fun racing today. I feel a bit robbed with regard to the second race :D that should have been a tie. Took a quick pic and we were dead even at what seems to be the timing line. Will post pics when I can find my USB stick.

Also, kinda dodgy re-entry on the last lap, @BrandonW77 -- straight back onto the racing line, would have crashed if I hadn't checked up. :odd:  If we had been racing more seriously today that would have been a complaint lodged with the stewards :sly: but I'm sure you would have done that in a serious race. 👍

(I would like to file a formal complaint against your b-spec Bob for running me off the track at the line though! XD)

Yeah, it was dodgy! But I had no idea you were there, I thought you were still way back and then suddenly I saw a rainbow Mustang in my mirror right in my bumper!! TO THE FLOOR WITH YOU, ACCELERATOR!!!!

Nice being back on track with you today. It's been far too long - So long in fact that that's the first time I've seen the new start sequence! I got all excited about it and made a false start - Story of my life! :)
Hopefully see you all again soon!

I caught up pretty quickly while you and cBc were tussling. 👍

Next week will be the last VCRC I can attend for a few weeks; we're moving in two weeks, and I might not be able to race again until July, depending on when we can move in to the new house. On the bright side, some of the proceeds from selling the current house will fund upgrades to the rig and before too long I'll be in the triple-screen club. :D:D:D

Probably nothing. The last few attempts only saw a very few people show up so there's not much point right now. I'm not positive what lead to the sharp drop off, but I suspect it was a combination of a few things (disorder of the OP, smaller crowds, lack of enduro's, etc.). It's also been really difficult to find good car/track combo's because we've been through most of them so it's probably time to restart the cycle.

I still am planning to reboot it with a new thread. I've been in photomode collecting some pics for a nice vintage montage but I haven't had a lot of time lately to get anything solid together. When I do reboot we'll start all over with track selection since we've pretty much covered all the (what I consider) useable tracks. I'll try not to repeat cars but on occasion I may bring back a few of the good ones. I have some other ideas that I want to test out first, I may end up going about things a lot differently but it depends on the results of tests. I will probably be on a lot this weekend trying some things out, feel free to join if you see me online.

If anyone is interested in some kind of vintage Le Mans racing Sunday morning I would be up for that. Not sure what car, or cars we would use but I'll look into that this evening.

I'd still like to revive it and start a new thread, just been a hectic couple weeks as I'm transitioning from one job to another job and also dealing with a family issue. Seeing as it's summer and the crowds have been dwindling (as they always do when the weather is nice) I'll probably wait another month or so before starting something new. Stay tuned. 👍

In the meantime, everyone please feel free to toss about some ideas to help get my/our creative juices flowing!

1960's Japanese vs. Euro cars?
Lowbie FR vs. FF?
Kubel/Schwimm vs. Citroen CV/Sambabus? Or similar...

Team Scoring? Decade vs. Decade, Country vs. Country, Axis vs. Allies, Red vs. Blue, etc.

Rally (Gravel/Snow) in the usual vintage/low power suspects?

Finding cars that are evenly matched in stock form is very difficult though.

I've always wanted to run a series in the lower pp cup cars. The March Cup car, the Lupo and Beattle cup cars. Their are also a few low pp race cars like the 86 GT Race car. What do you guys think?

I would definitely be interested if you raced at a different time....but it sounds like an excellent club. At the risk of sounding like a bit of a jerk since this is my first post here, if you are having trouble getting enough people to race, why not switch up the rules? Nothing drastic, but maybe allow some minor tuning just to even up the pp. You could still keep it low, and maybe just allow one type of tuning, such as exhaust. Forgive me if this has been suggested in this thread before - I was far too lazy to read all 52 pages . It would really open up a lot of options for race types.

Look forward to hearing from you, or being told to get lost:nervous:. I have almost all older cars in my garage, and I'm anxious to use them. I also posted my own thread where I was looking for a club, so you may notice it on the forum, but Jason Bica guided me here.
