Vettel Challenge

Ahhhh I was sooo close to getting gold on nurburgring last night (2.08.006) I thought I had it , but no:banghead: ... I geuss tonight is the night then!!!

edit: I GOT GOLD!!!:dopey: but the really strange thing is my total time came up as 2:08.000 exactly for gold! BUT when I looked at the replay I got 1:03.987 on my first lap and 1:04.030 on my second. That makes a total time of 2:08.017:indiff:... maby GT5 gods said 15hs was enough and gave me gold anyway soooo i'll take it!!

I've seen that happen.
What happens is - the PS3 doesn't get the 2nd lap time and process it fast enough which results in about 0.020 added to your lap time.

thanks for the info! still strange though, but if my ps3 wants to give me .020 thats cool with me!!:sly: gold is gold!!

thanks!! I did Suzuka first!! I figured if I could gold that one I could do them all.
and I did Monza last and I golded it in 45min last night. (Suzuka and Nurburgring took about 10-15 hrs each)
so ya I am a very proud owner of a X2010 prototype:P!!

I use DFGT, SFR 1, ABS 1, everything else OFF
I golded suzuka and monza, but I just can't get better times in Nurb...

My good partials are:
19.700
34.000
49.000
1:04.300

I have been driving in Automatic... I know Im lazy

I would like to know:
Switching it to Manual, could I manage better times?

Which other settings could I use to make it easier?
ABS 10? Active steering? TCS 1? What could I try???

My best total is 2:08.600...

I tried for 4 hours first day, and 3 hours second day...
Got my hand hurt for playing it too much...

HEEEEELP

Your first 2 sectors are fine but your 3rd and final time aren't.
You're losing a lot of time in last sector and you lose about 0.2 between sector 2 and 3.
Gold-worthy sector times should be:
Left: optimal
Right: marginal

#1: 0:19.6xx/0:19.8xx
#2: 0.33.8xx/0.34.0xx
#3: 0:48.6xx/0.48.8xx
Lap 1: <1:04.1xx

Lap 2 should be about 0.3 faster if you push it.

ABS 1, manual transmission, brake balance 10/10.
Should be easy with wheel. Good luck.

all i need is gold on nurbergring, but it's hard, im trying everything to achieve it, any help?
i know im fast enough but i cannot hook up two epic laps only epic sectors, if i combined my bests i would be easily faster than target time for gold

I DID IT!
on Automatic

I was using the camera 0. (the closest one)
When I changed to camera 1, (upper camera, it shows a bit the nose) I started to save 0.3s per lap.

Since it is upper, the vision gets further, I could prepare myself for the braking points accurately, and re-accelerate more aggressive too...

I recommend

Of course there is, it just takes a lot of practice and patience.
Some people have done it with the DS3, so just keep trying.
Eventually, you will succeed.
Good luck ;)

My settings are pretty much the same as everybody:
Manual transmission, ABS-1, SRF on. (G25 wheel).
Got each race gold in about 3 to 4 hours.
Since I restarted GT5 Suzuka took me one and a half hour.

Suzuka was easy
I have given up on Nurburgring and Monza
So i have decided to try to break out on either one, Nurburgring is very hard to break out of and resets you after 10 feet and Monza is completely flat
any tips on either would be appreciated but i on Monza you can skip the barricades on the first corner/hairpin 2nd lap if you hit the first barricade as fast as possible and dead straight you go straight through it then either go through the second or try to avoid it, the straight through the third.
Nurburgring tips would be helpful, could get silver on Monza anyway but only bronze on Nurburgring :/

You'll have to do them legit.
Monza has no elevation and Nurburgring doesn't have a checkpoint/noone knows the route to make the laps count.

As for the tips:
Chase camera, SRF on, ABS 1, brake balance 10/10, manual transmission, everything else off (I use sixaxis).
Do the Monza first, if you can't gold it you should give up - Nurburgring is at least 100x harder.
For Monza you should have lap 1 1:03.xxx and lap 2 0:59.xxx.
Nurburgring gold-worthy sector times should be:
Left: optimal
Right: marginal

#1: 0:19.6xx/0:19.8xx
#2: 0.33.8xx/0.34.0xx
#3: 0:48.6xx/0.48.8xx
Lap 1: <1:04.1xx

Lap 2 should be about 0.3 faster if you push it.

ABS 1, manual transmission, brake balance 10/10.
Should be easy with wheel. Good luck.

Monza laps should be:
#1: 1:03.xxx/1:04.5xx
#2: 0:59.xxx
I've already posted this in this thread many times, you should actually read the thread before asking for help.

Scrolling up helps too, fool.

I meant tips on breaking out -_- but since now i know that no-one knows where the checkpoint is I know I'll have to do it legitimately. And I have read the thread thanks.
Monza I know I can do, I just have to push it the tinyest bit more, I'm only half a second off :P but nurburgring is a sod. I think where I am going wrong is the Schumacher S curve and the last corner, maybe the first few corners, because what I do is use all that space on the right and power through without slowing down then slide quickly into the next corner, gain traction quickly and power on.
I know I go too slow on the last corner and I have yet to find the optimum line through Schumacher.

I've finally finished it with all golds! I did Monza a couple days ago and got Suzuka and Nürburgring within 45 minutes of eachother last night. Driving line on, SRF on, ABS 1 and the big keys for me, HUD OFF, and driving from hood cam. I made too many mistakes when I knew I was on pace so the solution was turn the HUD off and just drive. The car seems more stable and movements more precise from the hood cam. I started using bumper cam and I was all over the place.

Suzuka: First lap was a 1'05.907 which is way slower than recommendations I've seen and the second lap was perfect, 1'04.076 for a total of 2'09.983' It was such a good feeling after about 4 hours of driving over 2 days.

Nürburgring: It took exactly 45 mins after I golded Suzuka to get this. I don't have the time on my but I got it by just over a tenth. I slung the X1 around the corners a lot more on this one where Suzuka was more about precision and smoothness.

If you haven't yet and are struggling try turning the hud off, takes away some of the mental mistakes you get when you know you are close or on pace. I used this thread for help on breaking points and tactics. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=154480

I've never tired it without but in general SRF makes cars stick to the road a lot more. This is the only car I use it for.

I was pretty close to Golding monza and on the second to last corner in the second lap my analog stick gets stuck(stupid ds3)in the turn and I go off the track and get a dq. 1st lap was 1.03.27 and was doing even better in second. I can't get very close on the ring way to incosistant. Suzuka glitch worked for me yesterday.

Good luck.👍 What view do you use? Check out the link with videos I posted if you haven't yet.

All aids, including ABS, should be Off, but Skid Recovery Force should be left on, this will get the car to its fastest configuration. Sensitivity should be set to 7...it won't be an easy man to keep on track, but Bronze will be easy. Again though, the time spent going off the track will be far greater than the time spent trying to get Bronze...

Lol, no.
I'm yet to see anyone gold Vettel with ABS 0.
