The sound clip is definitely vr6
I can't agree with or deny that, the only VRs I have any experience with were essentially unmodified and sounded absolutely nothing like that. Just saying that a throaty rumble doesn't necessarily dictate a large displacement powerplant.

Judging from the teaser clips, it should sound like:

In essence, it should be a VR6 that's in those vids

I hope it sounds like this, with AES it seems possible :D

One thing for sure is the engine is a 3/6/12 cylinder

It'll be the same sound sample used by the Roadster VGT as both it and the first Design Vision GTI (the one not in the game) are a VR6, so the SS will likely be the same again.

I don't know, I think the Mazda, the Alpine and the Lexus sound great.
They sound good for gt, still got some catching up to do compared with everything else. The AES is very promising though if this is just very early stages of it.

Atleast the ones used before the Subaru Vision GT, I bet PD is using these newer VGT cars as test beds for the new AES system, and this machine is no different.

Anyone care to remind me what AES stands for?

Something Engine Sound(s). In light of the effectiveness of the new tesselation system I'm gonna take a punt on 'adaptive'.

So many of the new cars have the same hard-edged whine regardless of the engine configuration. There needs to be a blank canvas approach for GT7. Some sound good but do they sound realistic? I am not so sure.

Not a blank canvas. It's just about smoothing up the simulation engine that is powering the new sounds.

This thread really isn't about the vw anymore is it? My bad :boggled:

I don't get it  (I am an idiot, might have something to do with it)

In the car community, VW, particularly older ones are known for their electrical issues causing check engine lights and just the light itself throwing off. It's been so bad that plenty of people have made jokes and internet memes surrounding that

Well I think PD can make a little room for this great tradition in that case ;)
